Congrats on 50k!! Great interview. I've always loved how you fit environmentalism into your life and videos without making it feel like a lecture. And Damian is such an inspiration! As a farmer in New England, i was SO glad he mentioned how the past 2 warm wet winters have affected the fields, and will trickle down into prices. I live in a place that is SUPPOSED to be frigid and snowy every winter. Everyone is so glad it's been far warmer than normal... but I've been warning them the cost of food will be increasing because of it. And we've stopped using the term "100 year flood" to describe rare but serious flood events.... I've lost count of how many "100 year floods" we've had in the last 2 years!

Loved this video, thank you Flora! I've been a channel lurker for years, but don't usually comment on videos. Loving the interview series you're putting out, and this one in particular. P.s. Thanks to your videos, I ran Beast of the Blacks earlier this year, and have a hit list of other ultra and trail events I want to work my way through since starting trail running a year ago (and running at all 18 months ago).

Great interview Flora Does the "Green" issue enter the equation with certain running brands, where a £150 "tread" will barely last a loop of the Barkleys ! UTMB now in control of the Arc of Attrition, "bigger, better" etc Ka Ching 💷 Near misses at the Barkleys showcases Jasmin's achievement, must be a machine ! Imagine going through all that and missing the Final Cut Off by a second ! ☀️ 🌳🌳🌳🐕 🏃‍♀️

I don't have a car and I never fly anywhere, I just use trains and buses. It makes my life cheaper and less stressful but unfortunately it makes no difference at all to the planet.

Of course it does! Compare your current lifestyles impact to what it would be if you bought a new SUV every 4 -6 years and drove it everywhere. The mining/ manufacturing/ waste for the vehicles, and the fuel/ oil needed to run them, times the thousands of people in your area making similar choices, adds up to a huge difference. I'm a farmer, so I drive a pickup truck- but my sphere of influence is reduce/ reuse/ recycle, and organic food. I live it, and recommend it to others. If we all do what we can, the world would be vastly better!

How does travelling by train or bus instead of airplane, helps save the planet?

The emissions are significantly lower

You can find CO2 emissions comparisons online if you’re interested, the difference is huge. For example, Paris-New York by plane is the equivalent of 2 tonnes of CO2 emissions, which is what one person should produce in the whole year, gone in one travel.
