This video was made with one GIANT assumption in mind - that the HUSBAND is ALSO following HIS role as a tender loving shepherd of his wife's heart. I think your a great family , I was a good wife but had a abusive cheating spouse , so just being single and caring for my disabled child and knowing that God doesn't want me to be beaten and cheated on , so I have peace knowing I tried and forgave but now I'm living life simply single ,because otherwise I might have been killed by the abuse and then how could I help others, good testimony, and I pray for the ex that he finds God, I pray everyone finds God with God we are never alone

I think we all get caught up in understanding what the word “submit” means in the scripture. It isn’t being a doormat. It is a position of strength because it helps the husband be a better man, a follower of Jesus. You are a helpmate. In addition, the husband also helps the wife be a better follower of Christ.

My husband and I have been married for 25 years. We had some rough turbulent years, not bad but there were difficult times that we had difficulty getting through. But when we made the Lord our first love, everything changed. We have the Lord as the center of everything. Problems melted away. We've been together 28 years, married for 25, and we still look at each other with adoration and love. It IS possible when you put God first and allow his love to grow in the midst of you. When you give up self and serve one another, the Christ in you grows and emerges to serve one another. The key is to truly turn yourself over to Jesus. The key is to trust in the Lord. Then that's all you see is the Christ and love for each other! My husband doesn't try to fix or control me. I don't try to change or fix him. He is patient and kind and never criticizes. Where he is not so strong, I focus on his strengths to see what God sees in him. I appreciate the strengths God gave him and I see how his strengths have helped me. We help each other. We have gratitude every single day for the smallest things and we think and remember all the good that has come into our lives because of each other. Tris is also key. People often compete in a marriage because they have a competitive strife-filled nature or they want to control the other person so they can feel safe, better, or whatever. They will even use His to try and manipulate or control each other. This is due to an insufficiency in understanding who you are in Christ and in the image that God created you for. Usually, there is underlying insecurity in there which God is trying weed out of the soul. Marriage will reveal things to you about yourself you may never have seen before. When you focus on God and work on yourself, and through the Lord, surrender your flaws, weaknesses, and insecurities, he will take it away, rebuild you in his own image. Then you can shine with Christ and his love and this goodness is what you see in each other. As Paul said "Christ in us is the hope of glory." (Colossians 1:27). When you both understand the glory of God, of Christ in you, your ego and hard edges melt away and the sweetness of the Lord can shine through the both of you. Tearing down past strongholds and building up in the Lord - It's a process. Soon the old self dies away and the Lord will emerge in your soul and his love will shine in the midst of your marriage.

Wow! What a wonderful message! We were never taught what a Godly marriage was. We once lived in the world with Drugs, Sex, Alcohol, Parties and doing everything else evil! God saved us and our marriage. Thank you Jesus! 20 years later we are letting God lead us and our family. Living our marriage how God directs us too. So much Love, respect and peace now. The same people who think I’m ridiculous for believing in submission in fact are the same who scold me for not controlling my husband They cannot understand the truth I finally decided to not hang out with these women who have husbands who don’t really like to come home to them It took years but my husband did do some important changes not because I controlled him but because I learned self control from God’s spirit and my husband had nobody to fight with or harass so one month I realized he was different and the relationship got easier He says he doesn’t know why he changed ( he’s an unbeliever)

It's really difficult for me to understand and accept submission. I've seen my mother being the provider and the caretaker, because my dad was too busy pursuing his own interests and cheating on her, rather than caring for his family and respecting his wife. I'm fortunate to have met a man who respects and loves me and I would submit to him out of love and also because we both love Jesus enough to at least try to follow His way and His guidance. I pray that all who come from dysfunctional families are inspired by your testimony, Lindsay. I know I am 😊

This was very moving to me. We are new Christian's, about 1 year old and I have always treated my husband like I know best. I dont want that anymore. I wasn't brought up the way I should have been. Mum cheated on dad n then divorced him when I was 7 or 8 years old then dragged me around , ended up having 3 step dads over space of about 7 years.

I did a bible study a few years back, and I used a book called "The Excellent Wife".That was a turning point for me. Cant remember who the author was. But, in that time of studying, had a lot of ouches, amens and, a whole bunch of emotions in between. But I kept studying and praying and finally it all came together. And it was glorious! I used to think men used that word- "submit" as a control thing. But God showed me otherwise. Life is better and I am at peace, because I know He's with me.

Such great wisdom from such a great lady! It challenged me to me more submissive to my husband who, after ten years, still lovingly calls me "bossy bride."

I know nothing about marriage even though I could have been, but the relationship I was in didn't work out. Back then I was so naive, and didn't really knew what love was, neither did I know what self worth meant. Can't say I was physically abused, but I was in other ways. I was stiffled when it came to expressing myself, I was cheated on and pretty much rejected. I never knew how to honor a man because I never had a dad around me. Neither do I blame my dad because I have forgiven him for not being in my life. I'm happy when the Lord expressed his plans for me. He valued me and took me up and cleaned me off. Ministered to my soul and I now know what self worth is. I say this to say to all the singles and those about to get married that; let God chose your spouse and be patient. Once he is in the center of that relationship, he will hold the tides that binds, teach and mend in good times and bad. Don't know how I reached here but I just had to share. Lindsay, thanks for sharing and caring. Us women need to learn more about the expectations of wives towards her husband.

You are totally on track. Submitting to God in His Word!! Sometimes the peace and the joy do come with our obedience but remember Jesus agony in the Garden as He sought to obey and submit to the will of God.
