How to be a Man | The pursuit of the American Dream

Society and the media do a great job of defining what a man is, but I'm not sure that definition is accurate. I'm not going to pretend like I know what that definition is or should be, but I do believe it's time we consciously think about the message we as a society put out into the world as it pertains to what we expect from men.
This is an ongoing question for me, especially now that I have two teenage boys getting ready to enter adulthood as full grown men. If you think you have the answer, and even if you don't, drop a comment below and let me know what you think. Maybe with the combined power of our brains we can get a little closer to the answer.

this is great i have been a worried mum being single mum trying to bring up my boys to men and at times i dont have idea how to do it especially here in Kenya Africa where single mum have no place in society hence if you aren't married they treat you like you ain't hood enough cant bring well behaved boys-to men ,

Don’t buy into that stuff. Single moms can definitely raise good and strong men. It’s not about whether you’re a mom or a dad, it’s about what you offer your child. Offer them love, support, room to grow, room to make mistakes, room to fall and break some bones 😬, and more often than not you’ll have a good kid. It’s not a guarantee for success because there are other factors besides just the parents, but it certainly helps to follow those steps.

Thank you. I sincerely appreciate you saying that. We need to have more conversations about these kinds of topics in order to lift the veil on the BS that society sells as the "norm."
