That does sound exhausting!!!! I meant more in a social scene gathering or one off encounters vs an ongoing friendship. Friendships shouldn’t feel one sided!
Thank you for this! I completely agree about the importance of how one carries themselves and having manners with respect to interactions with others. I once had a conversation with a colleague and she said something along the lines of “when you get to be my age”. I was 6 years older than her. She carried herself as a much older person and did not spend much time with self-care (sunscreen, skincare, grooming, etc.). I think that some women pride themselves on this whole “I don’t need to do any of that” meaning nails, hair, makeup, etc. how we present ourselves to the world is so important!
