Imagine watching this shit from the Herald's perspective. You've been waiting countless years for a new Chosen Undead to show up. It's another quiet day in majula like any other, when a naked hobo walks up to you, falls of the cliff and dies, then runs back up to you, yoinks the Estus Flask without a word, sprints off and shanks the shopkeeper next door to death, before coming out wearing his clothes and sprinting off to the nearest boss.
Just ONE TIP TO REMEMBER with the Rapier - don't attack after rolling - the estoc, rapiers and other thrusting swords have very poor tracking in DS2...It's better to strafe around an enemy than roll for this weapon to be effective...or after rolling, take a step first before pressing R1.
@@budmaister1799 I don't panic roll like most, and rapiers in DS2 have a very bad tracking compared to DS1 and DS3...I've played enough thousands of hours to know what a poor weapon tracking is.
Watching this after your recent stuff, the amount of your improvement in a short span of time is incredible. Coming as far as you have in only a year's time? Keep up the good work, fam.
Bro THIS is the type of walkthrough I love. Exactly perfect. I love the info you give and the way you deliver it is HOW IT SHOULD BE DONE. I love your personality. Thank you my friend you are the goat.
a nice thing about dark weapon is that the buff duration is affected only by intelligence. This duration caps out at 24 int with a duration of 99 seconds. the faith does nothing for it so you may as well just use skeptics spice on it so you only need 10 faith to cast it. Unless ofc your build is a bit higher level and you're just pumping the damage of the dark infusion on your weapon at that point.
Woah that’s some good info, I always felt like it didn’t last as long when I only had 16 Int so that explains it! Thanks a lot! that’s actually interesting I never knew
@@fedorkochemasov4533 yeah, usually you you will do this on a dark infused weapon, and increasing your faith/int would give you a nice bit of damage. I usually pvp at mid to low levels though so I try to keep my level as low as I can
@@alistershade8923dark damage is actually gonna be one of the best damage types to use in pvp, especially at lower levels. Hex builds or 20/20 int/faith melee builds are broken at around leve 40-60.
I've been playing DS2 since shortly after it came out, and it's not the way *I'd* do things, but there's tons of great and handy tips, locations, and other stuff all throughout this video especially for people new to the game - such as how to get the tseldora set, or using brightbugs on Duke's dear freyja. Liked.
I agree with you on that I wouldn't recommend this way of playing for new players as you said, there are a few nice tips in this video but I highly advise new players to play it their own way at first, explore as much as possible, and use/do whatever they find fun My playstyle is really rushed as I skip a lot of areas, things and items to grab which may help someone on their first playthrough. Also I appreciate it !
@@ysonline original is a bit more fair with the amount of enemies, but sotfs uses DX11 instead of DX9 which pretty much means sotfs is now a 64 bit game instead of 32 in the og version (dont know if it matters that much).
I know I’m late to the party but I love your videos Yazzy. Thank you for everything that you do for us! You’ve single-handedly turned me into a DS2 lover
I have now beaten the game and dlc and throughout the entirety of the game I only successfully killed 2 of these things and now have assembled a parks and rec conspiracy board about how, since 2 is the earliest in the timeline souls wise, the crystal lizards of this game still existed outside of death and possessed ultra instinct, and since three is lthe latest and they made a plush of them around that time in three they are domesticated and far weaker.
@@rayz_gr8707 yeah it's since Ben confirmed that ER is separate but Demons Souls is 100% same universe, just much MUCH farther in the past from any of the dark souls games. There's item descriptions among other things in Ds3 that reference things that happened in Demon Souls.
@@Yazzmania can you do a run on Bare Fists if you haven't already? You can use these 4 rings for max damage. Vanquisher's Seal Ring Of Blades (+2 preferably) Flynn's Ring Red Tearstone Ring
@@nicholausstevens1262Vanquisher seal? Doesnt that take like 50 COC covenant items to get? Thats insane. You can do a great fist build without that much self-loathing lol.
Thank you! Amazing chill straight to the point guide. Fighting Duke's Dear Freja on NG++ was the single most painful point in my life but I did it and now I'm rich
One useful thing in respawning dukes dear Freja is that just past it there is the hollow tseldora in the library. Kill him and you'll get a frahrant branch of yore(3 times by using both bonfire ascetics)
Ur an underrated channel my man!! Was randomly watching souls videos and ur popped up n I’ve been watching them ever since. Ds2 was my least favorite of the souls series and I never finished it so I just started another play through to give it another honest chance
i friggin love the commentary. i also like how you dont give us full details of the locations to let us explore and find out for ourselves. this is one of the best guides ive ever seen and it doesnt take away the fun in the game.
Great vid. Add in The Rotten +Flynns ring and Old Leo Ring from Dragonslayer. You could also switch the dark build to a fire build since Freja and Najka are weak to it (no bosses resist fire in this route up to shrine of amana while nearly all of them resist dark), Get Firebolt stone from fire salamander pit (FOTFG) and Get Lost Sinner boss soul for Flame weapon trade. Get 1Mil from Freja then rush to Shrine of Amana get Sunlight blade/Sacred Oath, apply Boltstone and respec to lightning for endgame +DLC.
Honestly I might be wrong but I seen the grand lance is actually a pretty strong weapon for early game I seen elajjaz use it on stream when he was doing his convent of champion permadeath runs
this definitely isnt a newbie friendly guide but i appreciate the commentary and effort. theres times when you cut to where you want us to go but dont show the route to get there i.e 5:02. Ill come back once ive ran through the game once or twice
I’m running this build thanks to you! Going smoothly so far. The end effect should be the essentially same if I lightening infuse rapier right? Since lightening scales with faith. So 30/30 on faith int should be legit?
Awh man I wish I saw this earlier sorry! If you’re doing a lightning infused rapier invest all of your levels into FAITH ONLY! As lightning infusions only scale with your faith NOT intelligence! I hope you enjoy the build!
@@zeallust8542Great memories of hours and hours of PVP fights, everyone dancing around as a mad butterfly man threw neon pebbles everywhere and all the crazy builds people were coming up with. The sheer variety of builds you faced is why DS2 PVP is still the king.
Just wanted to add while your getting the dark stone there's some bone dust down the corridor with the knight standing guard, he's not too tough to kill just spamming soul arrow, little extra healing, btw thankyou for this I had no idea rapier were this good I'm enjoying this
Oh definitely, Velstadt, Nashandra, Vendrick, Ancient Dragon & Throne watchers are all weak to lightning, along with a few other late game bosses. Highly recommend getting sunlight blade and sacred oath later on and infusing your rapier with a boltstone Keep in mind boltstone infusions scale with FTH, so the more you level into FTH the more damage you’ll get out of it, leave INT at 30 or lower if you’re doing lightning (honestly can be lower)
What is the endgame stats I should aim for ? And is this effective in Crown Of The Old Iron King DLC ? I heard the enemies and bosses there have high Dark defense .
once you have cheat engine opened, click the little screen icon in the top left corner, select DS2 (make sure the game is running) and then enable speed hack on the right and set it to whatever speed you want I recommend going offline before continuing to play, just so you don't get banned.
@@Yazzmania oh alright thanks so much, trying to find videos of people doing this is close to impossible so it helps a ton having the one and only respond with instructions on how to do it. Also if u want to i think a channeled trident video would be cool to watch
I promise you this will take you all the way to the end, even Dark resistant bosses still take massive damage, but if you ever feel like the damage is not enough for a certain boss, search up their weakness and infuse your rapier to that element, rinse and repeat for other bosses and you’re chilling.
BOI, I have discovered the ultimate early / mid game OP strategy for me, but you need some luck: Start with the petrified something as burial gift and trade it with the birds in the tutorial area, hope for the demon's greathammer. It requires 50 STR but when two handed you can get away with less, so start with a knight as your class and do nothing except level STR. Shouldn't take long until you can two-hand that thing. Why is it OP? Because you can one-shot the turtle knights (if you keep upgrading it, it still one-shots the turtle knights in Iron Keep), you slam EVERY NPC invader into the ground if you hit them so you get a guaranteed stunlock on all of them, you do insane strike damage so you two-shot the knights in Heides Tower, if upgraded you can still almost one-shot the knights in the Dragon Shrine, it's crazy. Main weakness is that it's heavy so you won't be wearing armor for a while, plus it's slow.
Gonna be completely honest I’m playing dark souls 2 and just clicked on this video as a background thing and stayed for the commentary and the kissland pfp overall tho good video
thank you man! go for a faith only build with a lightning infusion on the rapier for late game, as most bosses late game are weaker to Lightning, especially DLC ones!
The commentary caught my attention, the effortlessness kept me around. Subscribed. I have hundreds of hours in Elden Ring and DS3, this is my next endeavor. Funny shit, dude.
search for " ds2 more overpowered in 15 minutes". You get a +8 weapon and you only need to do forest of fallen giants and a bit of lost bastille, that should be easier to do.
Yeah if you want you could, personally I’m able to beat the whole game with the rapier with ease cause it’s so easy to reinforce and easy to use, whereas going for another weapon could require a lot of twinkling titanite’s or petrified dragon bones, and a lot of leveling in a specific attribute. but if you could acquire enough material you can definitely do more damage with other weapons. My advice for you is to go to the dark souls 2 weapons wiki and see what you like, from there go acquire the weapon you like and upgrade it to max. (Red iron twin blade in shrine of amana is my go to if I feel like switching from the rapier)
@@Yazzmania Would you suggest using an armor set like the jester one later down the line? Or can the whole game be beaten without any boosts from armor
@@fleurdesaint The game can definitely be beaten without armor as long as you have enough Adaptability to improve your dodging, however it is really bland playing without armor, plus you have to rely on successfully dodging every time to avoid taking damage. for maximum amount of fun I would recommend you get armor because a lot of the armor sets provide bonus attributes such as the jester one, plus they look cool you know :) The only reason why I don't use armor in this video because I wanted to show how much damage I can dish out in the fastest way possible, and having no armor/low equipment load increases your stamina recovery, which allows me to attack more, that's the only reason .. and cause my character is kinda hot.
The key you grabbed says it's dull ember . That chess didn't spawn for me.. I'm playing on rpcs3 idk if remastered makes it different. When I search full ember on yt it shows me something else.
@@Funny_Clips_Dailyy lmao yeah it was hard for me as well when I first discovered this and tried to piece it all together without dying and messing up. You’ll get better trust me :)
The more I watch your vids the more Last Giant’s Moveset looks like a mini Fire Giant. It’s almost like FromSoft used the same script lol. MY BAD HE PULLED OFF HIS ARM, not leg.
advice pls tell us how to get to some of these areas ive never played ds2 to completion before so when ur like "go here" idk where here is. otherwise helpful thx
wasted all of my axe lubricants at 6:10 tryna tryna figure out why my axe wasnt doing shit for damage. then i found out i had to double hand. then i lost all my souls. After 4 hours trying to do this tutorial im proud to say: time to do absolutely everything from the beginning again 😭
