I think most Russian people and certainly Europeans are aware that Americans specifically are known to be overly friendly and open at first meetings. Of course, it's not a good thing, but I always tell people to not ask personal questions until you know a person better.

Thanks for the video. Could you please list russian words used in the video in the discription section. This would help me not to stop the video every time I hear new word. Thanks again

It’s interesting the behaviour piece because it sounds just like common sense for anyone and it should be applicable to everyone regardless of where they’re from in the world. But I guess there are some Americans that do get overly friendly too quickly lol.

What's up with Russian guys asking me my age when I barely know them? Do they think it's ok, because they know I'm American? Or are they just being strange? Is it common for them to compliment a girl saying how pretty she is within days of knowing her? American guys really don't do that unless they have ulterior motives. Anyway, I find videos like this very interesting because I like learning about what people from Russian speaking countries are like. I definitely would never want to be offensive. Btw, regarding opening up, I'm not really good at this. I do better when other people open up to me first! Until then, I'm never too sure they want me to open up and tell them things about me.

Be Fluent In Russian Yeah, I agree with you. American guys aren't good at being romantic. Well of course there are exceptions but it does seem like Slavic guys are in general better at it.

i'm kind of in the same boat, american female here. i've been talking to a lot of russian people online, as i've just started to learn russian and i wanted to make a few acquaintances and/or friends, so i've been chatting with them in english. i met them all under the pretense that i'd help them practice english, and they could help me with russian. maybe it's because of that, that many of them have asked my age, and i've asked for theirs, since it's just sort of an easy way to start getting to know each other better? i don't have experience with the compliments thing really, since none know what i look like, though. so seeing this video and finding out that age is something you should really ask about confused me, because it was one of the first things we asked each other about. :P though i'd assume that it would be different if i had met them in person, rather than online.

Russians like their personal space? Have you ever been on Russian transport in rush hour? 😂В тесноте да не в обиде - как говорят.

I kind of expected this video to be 10 seconds long and just contain "You can't. It's Russian." - that's the feeling I got while staying in Petersburg and Moscow. ;) For example, while in a small neighbourhood shop, people just walk in, ask for what they want, and walk out. No "Добрый день", "пожалуйста", or "До свидания". At least that's what I saw - don't know how it looks in other places, obviously. I'm sure you've covered it in one of your other videos.

givememorebliss Waw! That must feel weird haha (because in France we use these phrases a lot) Where are you from?

I actually live in Poland, where it's totally customary to use the respective phrases in Polish. I was just in Russia on holiday. :)

How to be polite in Russia : urinate in public, spit every five seconds, smoke next to the subway entrances, forget personal space, bypass lines, park on sidewalks, do not smile or even show a neutral expression - angry face only, drink in playgrounds and parks.

Please make that English intro shorter. You Already typing the name of video. Like being polite and nice. Then i guess that all the people understand that You gonna explain about that topic. Each of your video intro takes around 1.5 minutes. And in 20 video it is half an hour, which make your videos boring when it comes to watch in a row.
