The first time the word soulmate was ever used was in 1822 by an English poet who said "To be happy in Marriage Life, nay … in order not to be miserable, you must have a Soul-mate" and I think we took that word and ran. Having a soulmate in this lifetime is so appealing. You are with someone who understands you. All facets of you. The good, the irksome, the little quirks, the trauma, the beauty in each freckle. All of you. It's understood because they're your soulmate. And, I find that a lot of us have been searching for one for years. Sometimes left hopeless. Sometimes left exhausted. And other times... even successful.
