I watched every episode. I'm 68 years old and I started playing chess again 4 years ago after a break of 40 years. Even if playing chess online seem a little bit strange to me and I've only reached a rating of 1300, I love the way you present and explan. And let me note: Even if I'm from Germany and my Englisch is not the best, the calm and friendly way you are talking helps to understand the fun of the game. Thanks a lot.

The algorithm blessed me with this series on episode 13 and I went back and watched the previous ones. Given that some of these episodes are almost an hour long, it's hard to believe I've watched 28 episodes of this, but it goes by in the blink of an eye. This series has helped my openings become much stronger. Now I just need to stop choking to timeouts.

I've watched all of them, many of them 3 to 5 times to grasp the concepts fairly solidly. I'm 73 and hadn't played a game in 35 years, and that just over beer with a buddy-- amateur action for sure. I played a few games starting a week ago, and went from beginner 200 level to 800 in about 10 games, blundering all the way, but with much better board vision thanks to the Speedrun series. When I was younger, I never had a clue on what to do when I entered the middle game. Listening to your thoughts has seriously improved my tactics and strategies.

21:40 I think the reason behind the resignation lies in the fact that after Ke4, the opponent saw h6, effectively trapping the knight. If white tries to save the knight by going Nf3, it takes away the only square for the king after Bf5+. In that case Bf5+ would be Bf5#, meaning checkmate I have watched from the start. My rating is 1400, I am really looking forward to you reaching that rating aswell with your speedrun account. I haven't played for a long time because of rating anxiety, but my new years resolution have been to reach 1500. You have already taught me so much from your videos! Having been a fan of yours for a couple of years now I think, I just want to say thank you so much Eric! The closest thing was an "advisor" to our HS chess club which had a mere handful of students. He was a teacher and supposedly a chess master but we never had any structured chess lessons from him. And he never gave any lectures on the game. He never gave us any chess puzzles. So we were pretty much on our own. I've learned a lot about chess theory on youtube in the last few years. It's an amazing resource for this game!

I've gone back and watched them all, I think this one might catch me up? I appreicate how you explain every move and the pace. You could go macho fast as possible climb but this is far better. For the range of openings you challenge and refute I feel my chess has improved even if I remember only part of your lines. Thank you for these videos!

Like so many subscribers, I have watched every episode, some more than once. It's a great series, and I look forward to catching up after a busy period at work.
