As a Melodious Player, those card you mention can be easily be dodge. They can activate Ostinato again if they have If you negate Refrain, They can SS another melodious then link to harmonist These are the real chokepoints of the deck Bacha- Should be targeted for negates like imperm, the special summon is a huge thing to them. Soprano- Soprano's effect to fuse in field is soft once per turn but if you negate its effect, they will stuck with a 1400 atk monster on the field. Harmonist- This is the very important card you wanna hit on them cuz this card's effect special summon 2 melodious from deck. If you prevented it, u basically won cuz they spent time building the field only to be choked in harmonist.

It is a great, archetype-specific card! I think these forms of "broken" cards are healthier for the game because there is no way another deck can generally abused Ostinato. :P

@@RobinsAssistant inherent abuse as this is the “go-to”. While the condition isn’t implausible as to consistently execute; players always find a creative way to find it for use.

The deck keeps winning too. Aria lock is so annoying. I’m literally maining anti-spell even if it’s at 1. It’s so good right now. Also appreciate the choke points breakdown

I feel like if you wanna run brickless Exosister, you can cut Irene and Sophia I'm actually thinking about summoning Exosister ED without Exosister monster or just bare minimum such as Irene, Martha and Stella only since their own card isn't quite facilitate Xyz better Even Martha is xenophobic to be mixed with other special summon rank 4 engine

Ostinato does send from deck. Ostinato Effect: "If you control no monsters: Fusion Summon 1 "Melodious" Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using 2 monsters from your hand and/or Deck as Fusion Material." "Hand and/or deck"; the option to send from deck is encompassed for the use of materials, therefore, you can either send all materials from deck for the fusion, send from hand, or a mix of hand and deck. Its the same effect as Branded Fusion. I hope this helped! :)

Technically you can! Bystials are a great tech but more for side than main because were are still in a fire dominated format.

Not quite sure- the deck has been topping locals and some major events, but right now, it's arguably still in the testing phase. However, YGO has been fluid lately, therefore, I wouldn't be surprised if it does become meta or at least Tier 2. The Aria lock is insane!

It is just decent because of recent support Bacha is summoner monk of the deck and pendulum returning from ed to pendulum scale facilitates their special summon strategy benefit Also Etoile can just escape Melodious monsters from Nibiru, Raigeki, Evenly and resetting Schuberta There are people running pure, using it as freaking engine and other variants such as Supreme Melodious

@@jofx4051 100% valid!! This was amazing. I appreciate the insight to the deck as well. I agree; it’s a pretty tough engine/core for something that, to me, felt like a random rogue. But it’s very competitive! It also helps that the deck can run 15 Hand Traps in addition to such a consistent core.

there are many inaccurate information in this video. first of all, there are no obvious choke points for this deck. one extender in hand and Melodious player can still play. also, you can easily make Etoile + Schuberta + Aria through Ash and Imperm. deck has a line that plays through Droll and still beats Nibiru. Droll overall beats this deck only thrown after Prosperity. Melodious searches 2 times at most (in archetype - Refrain + Couplet) + Prosperity. Dark Ruler also ain't insta win - Etoile has an effect when destroyed and can set a board (sometimes also with Aria). the same applies for Raigeki. Shifter-like effects are not insta win - deck can easily make Bagooska and Shifter decks can't always out it easily. also pure Melodious don't play Vortex Dragon lines so that part is sometimes irrelevant

Remember, any information regarding counters and combo lines (playing through disrutpions/negs, etc.) are always fluid to the game state, and the deck build. Unfortunately, there is no concrete way to stop a deck because in addition to deck build, experience plays a major role as well (as you've clrearly detailed). "Chokepoints" are "critical" timings on when a specific card should be used in an effort to "stop/slow" down a combo line. Of course Ash and Imperm alone are "not" good enough anymore to stop any current, meta line. It's more of a segment of, "when you should" use Ash or Imperm to have the best counter effect towards the stragety. I appreciate these comments the most! Great convo starters and hopefully I can bring some insight. ☺

@@lowtierhero_ that's why I said that some information is not accurate instead of stating it's false 😉 what you're saying is true but you should describe some situations as a "good timing to handtrap" or something similar as in Melodious there are no obvious choke points like for example in Raidraptors. there are some obvious points to hit like Ostinato or Bacha but most of the time they're not definitive

“Actually melodious has no obvious choke points” 🤓 Dawg are you saying the deck has no weaknesses? lol every deck has choke points regardless of the follow up post interruption lol you doing the most right now. Creator even showed the follow up combo lines on what can happen.

@@ruingear I haven't said that it has no weakness. but how would you call making the same board through 2 handtraps? maybe with a little bit more resources but still. and those handtraps weren't badly used. that's why I said that there are no obvious choke points. deck is very resilient and many times just changes the route. it's not invincible, no deck is but you just can't shotgun handtraps because someone said that this is the choke point. you need to read the board and know what other options Melodious player have left to decide whether the handtrap will be impactful enough. for example, Imperm on Refrain is not a perfect choice as one extender in hand and the play goes on. especially when Refrain was special summoned from 1st Movement Solo and Melodious player still have something to normal summon. and that Refrain search sometimes isn't even that important
