Luna would probably play a Aromage deck as her modern day deck since it’s a deck based around gaining life points and there’s also benefits for the life point gain. It would fit her very well.
I was thinking of something like that, or some form of Counter Fairy deck, but Aromage is indeed more fitting, a mostly defensive deck with focus on gaining benefits from healing. The only problem is that the Aroma cards are plants and she's a fairy user, but there's no fairy archetype focused on life points.
I find it poetic that both Yusei and Jack's card designs, are the cornerstone of modern YuGiOh boss monsters Yusei: negation Jack: all out boardwipe/board effect
@@TheLuthorri speaking of numbers, I'd like to throw dark mist into that guy that thinks there's a solid formula on winning Because he says numbers don't lie, and I can imagine dark mist being a filthy liar
Nah Yuma would do the negate style of negate 1 trap 1 spell all enemy effects in had grave and field - opponent atk points ect. (I'm a master duel utopia player)
You forgot Officer Trudge, one of the earlier antagonist to Yusei in 5D's. For his modern deck he would still play a Goyo deck with new Goyo cards like Goyo Predator, Goyo Defender, Goyo King, Goyo Chaser, and Goyo Emperor (which isn't a very good card in my opinion). But his main deck could use more support, like being able to spam more monsters on the field for syncro summoning like Junk Booster for example except special summon as many level 4 or lower beast, fiend, or rock type monsters on the field but with a restriction to negate those card effect until the end of the turn so the effect is not too broken. And play some cards that would take control your opponents cards to better represent Trudge's role in arresting duelists like mind control, enemy controller, Crackdown, etc.
Fun fact: The Moon and Sun Dragon synchro monsters and support cards are based off Incan mythology. It is said that the Inti and Quilla (the sun god and moon goddess) decided to have children to bless the earth with life which is where Manco Capac and Mama Ocllo (their version of Adam and Eve). One of the earthbound immortals has a similar name to Capac and the rest are based off geoglyphs that most central and south American civilizations used to believe in, some still do till this day. I know this cause i made a full deck out of this but just getting a bunch of triple copies of everything and adding in similar looking cards like Stone Statue of the Aztecs and Weeping Idol to fill the gaps (makes a really good recycling deck) and I also did a project on Incan mythology in 8th grade while including pictures of the synchros in relation to how their beliefs are retrained into modern media. I had a lot of fun with the project.
@@mohamedamer1945It doesn't see much play in the TCG. Other than Centur-ion and Red Dragon decks, it doesn't show up. It might get banned because of Centur-ion. People were hoping it would last ban list and been asking for it to be banned. We will see what happens now that Centur-ion has it second wave what it will do now. What's funny is HEROS has a card that does the same, and HEROS were given a trap to summon it out as well on your opponents turn. Monster is Elemental Hero Cosmo Neos. And you can tell Favorite Contact was made with Cosmo in mind as well (not just Cosmo but they thought of it) because any monster summoned with it cannot be returned to the extra deck by either player. Cosmo Neos returns itself to the extra deck the end phase it's summoned, normally, but with Favorite Contact it stays on the field as a 3500 body to go for game.
@@RazielTheUnborn Funnily enough, I’m pretty sure that the best way to play the RDA deck now is to play Centur-ion RDA, and splash in Earthbound Prisoner Stone Sweeper.
@@Zvbst YES. In more ways than one. It wasn't even an elimination match, it was round robin. Team 5Ds and Team Unicorn would be 1-1 later down the line given how Team Catastophe beat Team Unicorn. By the time we get a possible rematch in an AU scenario, Team 5Ds would have better experience with this Tag Relay setup. Though for Team 5Ds, they could have won sooner if Draco Equiste was showcased on a winning turn by having Synchron Explorer summon QUICKDRAW Synchron and not Junk Synchron.
I've started writing 5Ds fics and for Luna, I settled on Naturia/Vernusylph for her deck. It keeps that nature/fairy forest type theme (and their boss monster is named Leo, which I just find funny) and leans more into the control aspects. It gives Earth monster support for tag duels with Leo (it also pairs well with Akiza and some of Yusei's cards), Vera has that taking the opponent's monster effect that she used against Devack, and there's a combo you can use with Ancient Forest, Vernusylph Corolla, and Flourishing Hills to let your monsters attack while keeping the opponent at bay. Also Circle of Fairies as another extra deck card. I imagine Luna shining best in tag duels.
@@dancostello4872 I'm still working on it, it's going to be one in which Leo takes Devack's place as a Dark Signer and at the end, he and Luna have to face off. Want to try finishing the entire thing before posting on AO3 this time, or at least a good chunk of it.
Come on, y'beat me to the punch. I wish you all the best with the fic, though I am a bit skeptical of Leo taking Devack's place. What can I find you under on AO3?
I can't believe we live in a world where the Clear archetype is getting support. I've waited years for it. Thank you for putting up with my constant comments about remaking your Clear archetype video.
You forgot some characters such as Sayer (the arcadia movement psychic duelist who used psychic monsters) this dude was a major villain and in the modern day give him psy frames, it fits the psychic style he can synchro into framelord omega and give him cards like hyper psychic blaster, power injector and a super big boss monster. Psychic end punisher it would be perfect for him Theres also officer trudge who played goyo guardian, jutte cards a ‘security’ deck and modern day goyo cards can work as seen in Arc V so yeah, he can play that
Luna's "archetype" if you could call it, is actually based more on Beasts and Field Spells. It has exactly ONE support card: Armored White Bear. And it's actually themed very well with Ancient Fairy Dragon.
A fun set of videos you could make is what decks other anime character's would play if they were in Yu-Gi-Oh? Like Laios Touden might run Hungry Burger, characters like Usagi Tsukino, Goku, Mikoto Misaka, Megumin, to name a few. I suggest this since the anime focuses on archetypes and is clear what decks they would play.
A little detail, Timelord Progenitor Vorpgate actually belongs to another character it's a card played by Eve in the Arc V manga as she used 3 boss monster representing a group of powerful monsters from previous seasons, Phantasm Emperor Trilojig (Sacred Beast/GX), Timelord progenitor Vorpgate (Timelord/5Ds) and Number XX: Utopic Dark Infinity (Number/Zexal)
22:08 personal thought for Time wizard deck. Thousands of years (Time Wizard/ "Thousand" arctype) Playstyle: Its a coin toss centered deck focused on getting monsters out and getting "second chances" with coin tosses. Extra deck monsters will also show effects for every coin toss called correctly. The main deck will have "Clock" warrior monsters, "Time" spellcaster monsters, and "Baby" monsters. "Clock" monsters allow for summoning and retrieving of "Time" monsters (mainly Time Wizard). "Time" monsters focus on affecting the monsters on the field. "Baby" monsters show no real effects on the field, but once sent to the graveyard can show effects to empower or protect monsters. The extra deck is where the "Thousand" monsters reside. Grown up Fusion and Xyz monsters of the "Baby" archetype. Along with normal fusion and Xyz methods, they can also be summoned through successful coin flips with time wizard and the corresponding matterial being on the field. "Thousand" monsters focus on preventing your opponent from negating effects of coin tosses, while also growing in strength for each successful coin toss made. Along with the Thousand monsters stronger "time wizards" can also be made, allowing for more coin flips to be used and strong monsters being made. The decks visual themes are obviously that of Clockwork knights and wizards as well as fantasy like infant monsters that grow up into ancient elder monsters. Time marches on, and only those who go with its flow can survive the passage of time.
The ironic thing about infernity is that their strongest period was oddly not during the synchro era, but during the XYZ format via using Lavalval chain in pre-dragon ruler, and then Soul Charge for the brief period it was legal at 3.
Actually most duelists play naturia with ancient fairy dragon with a few cards for support you are trying to quickly get barkion and ancient fairy dragon in a turn. You might evolve barkion but your choice.
I think Luna would probably either use Nemuria or Starry Night if we can't create a new Dragon for the former 10:15 Firewall got support after being banned Greiger would play Orcust I'm curious what a more literal interpretation of the concept would be As im their current archetypes necer existed so there's no legacy support to have, then what would everyone play?
@15:25 So back when Master Duel first came out, I was watching a bunch of Yu-gi-oh series, I watched the entire first episode of the Team 5Ds vs Team Nordic duel while an infernity player combo’s off in the background, keep in mind, the opening song started after he started doing his thing, and it was mid-episode preview when he stopped.
In my opinion, I feel these cards were made for Luna. That being Mahaama, Feedran, Counselor lilly, United We stand, and Moon Mirror shield would suit her deck since one heals, the equip cards would help her ancient dragons survivability, and Feedran able to change opponents battle positions while granting one of your monsters piercing would be a good combo for her with United we stand.
I think Luna could have a very interesting deck revolving around swapping field spells that show different settings for different fairy tales and each field spell would have different effects that bring the deck together, some would have playstarting some recursion some protection and some could even work with interruption. I think it could be pretty cool.
An interesting fact to note: Scarlight red Dragon Archfiend has a cast on the same fist that tried punching Junk Warrior in Yusei and Jack's last duel, where Junk Warrior had an insanely boosted attack point total of over 5000 to attack Red Dragon Archfiend for game.
I've begun to build a Red Dragon Archfiend deck because of the Master Duel's "Duel Festival Fusion/Synchro/Xyz" event a month ago. The best Synchro deck imo was the RDA deck. The best Fusion deck was the Chimera/Illusion Beast deck. The best Xyz deck was the "Rank10 Cannon" deck.
For Luna, I'd give her Melffy as it is cute deck whose boss can punish aggressive players. Bomber would probably fit with Infinitrack and for Roman I'd say Krawler as it is an Insect Deck that could work with his spiders.
would be nice to see another vid with like, speculation on alternative archetypes for each person, like akiza also had a lotta psychic stuff goin on, luna might play mikanko with her defensive style etc
22:02 - Sadly, for Fleurs, there is a 1-card combo, but... it doesn't make Baronne. It stops at Chevalier de Fleur. Horse of the Floral Knights adds Noble Knight's Spearholder, then can fuse with it to make Centaur Mina. Centaur Mina revives Spearholder, which triggers to make itself a tuner. You can then make any Lv8 Synchro, but the problem is, Spearholder does not get to search the Equip Spell that revives Spearholder because it has to tribute itself from the field to do it, which means at best, you stop there unless you opened the Equip Spell extender. At least, this is what is possible in Duel Links right now without getting aided by a Skill.
Spider XYZ monsters are monsters used by another important character, Kyoji Yagumo, from ZeXal's manga, Roman Needs His Own Support. And Vorpgate has something similar, yes, it is a Timelord, but it is a card that belongs to Eve, antagonist of the Arc-V manga.
Lets rework lunas cards abd make them a new archetype. A fae archetype. Ancient fae dragon would be the go to card. What should it do? If you have fae forest on the field, this monster cannot be destroyed by card effects. If an opponents monster is face up on the field, it must attack this monster. Once per turn, if ancient fae forest is not on your field, activate ancient fae forest from your hand deck or graveyard. Probably not super busted, but that’s what we’ll make support cards for
8:50 life stream dragon is kinda worth playing with a level 4 to make crimson dragon, because it can immediately be made with Life extreme and then synchro into crimson dragon to search any spell that mentions it which most can revive the signers so you can revive power tool, or livestream then return crimson to summon any other signer dragon
An Ancient Fairy deck revolving around field spell abuse and various interruptions to stall and punish aggression on the opponents part isn't a bad idea. Give the deck 2 or 3 themed field spells with varied effects to allow the player to choose what field spell they'd need for which moment while also rewarding destruction of said field spells.
Grieger is tough. There are a few decks we could give him. Could have ABC, with the combining machines aspect. Could have Machina because it gets out a lot of big machine monsters. But I think I would give Grieger Mecha Phantom Beasts. They’re Wind Machine monsters that synchro summon, and have militaristic inspiration
I would love if you could do a video about Manga characters like in Gx and 5ds. I'd love to see you make a video on how different the characters were from thier manga counterparts
2:00 I personally almost always try to go for TG Hyper Librarian 1st and then go into Junk Speeder. Then Stardust Charge Warrior and so on. And would love to open with Synchronized Realm before any Synchro for 500 burn for each Synchro Summon
As an active Morphtronic player at my locals, being able to link climb and synchro has made some very powerful boards. Ending on a full field with braver dragon equiped with United we stand, power of the guardians, life extreme along with Earphon, and a link 4 or potential link 4 on opponent turn has won me several games. It's just a consistency issue that makes it hard at times.
Sherry's cards do not amount as to what was shown in the image at 21:53 , since centaurmina isnt there, nor the white steed of the floral knights (would've been easier to check the duel links voice lines to see the totality of the cards any particular character is related with) That being said (and to avoid a cop out) she would totally be playing infernoble knights, given they are synchro-based and inspired by french legends, i think they can lock themselves into warriors so some of her OG cards wouldnt fit, but baronne can (the theme fits her so well, it is basically konami admitting "if we didnt narratively shaft her for no reason even though her development was dead-easy to write, this is how her deck should've looked like") Also her butler mizoguchi would probably be playing six samurai, given his personality and the way his deck looked geared towards
21:55 Well, as someone who plays Duel Links, I’ve been enjoying the new versions of the cards they released for Sherry. It’s a bit confusing, given that the new ones have the exact same name as the old versions but better effects, but stuff like the newer versions of “Horse of the Floral Knights”, “White Steed of the Floral Knights”, “Noble Knight’s Shield-Bearer”, “Noble Knight’s Spearholder” and “Centaur Mina” do help make Chevalier and Baronne much easier. They’re not insanely powerful, overall, but they’ve been fun messing around with. And, they work well with summoning level 2s, so maybe you could throw in something like Spright?
I would really like to see Leo and Luna get some more cards that is based on their play style and for some type of retrain to be made for Life Stream Dragon since I feel that card should be a lot more better since it is the only signer dragon that need to use a summon material to summon it so it deserve to feel like a boss monster because of the way it has to be summon and how this card is one of the reason Yusei was even able to summon shooting quasar dragon in the show
For Lindel there's a Time Keeper engine that's quite fun, and would keep with his clock tower theme and all. For Luna I would think a Dream Mirror Synchro variant deck, as it keeps with the theme of spirit/real world and relies heavily on the field spells, which would help wonders with Ancient Fairy Dragon
Luna could incorporate the Aromages since they synergize with her lifepoint gain and have their own field spell. Maybe the Rikka arch to give her some offensive capabilities.
Yusei with a full board of negaes, OP stardust monsters, and insane countinues spell, Field spell, and a trap card to resummon his level 7+ dragon sunchro monster and not to mentiom scrap iron scarecrow set for the memes, and 12 cards in hand.
5Ds is the first yugioh anime i watched exclusively in japanese so i always get confused by the english names. Rua and Ruka. Red Demons Dragon. Aki Izayoi etc.
I played against Timelord once and it took me 34 turns to win the game, basically I got Ultimate Falcon out on 2nd turn, but he got 1st turn, so it’s just a fight waiting for my opponent to get a bad draw because we can’t do shit to each other lel
on master duel with the limit one festival event i pushed a branded player to 800 life points with ninjas also pushed a lightsworn deck to 2600 life points with ninjas as well though i lost both duels it was hilarious that branded and lightsworn nearly lost to ninjas of all things
If Yugioh did a movie where they brought in a villain from every previous installment up until Vrains a la No Way Home. I could see Jean Michel Roget be the mastermind behind the event. He pulls in Rex Goodwin from 5Ds and gives him the new Earthbound servant cards. Metaphorically putting him under his servitude.
in the 5ds DS games Luna played an anti-healing deck where she'd get the card that makes all healing damage, then just play a ton of healing cards to burn the opponent
I wish Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's could've had an episode in which Yusei duels someone who both has and Fusion Summons the Five-Headed Dragon but was able to defeat them somehow. An episode like that would've been pretty awesome/interesting to watch.
I think Luna could play an Adventure/Brave deck. A lot of monsters included in this archetype are random fantasy/RPG characters, just like her anime deck, Rite of Aramesir/Curse of Aramatir representing two versions of the Spirit World, one before Ancient Fairy Dragon was freed and one after that, synergy with Ancient Fairy Dragon through field spells and Adventure archetype is usually used as a supportive engine for other decks, which would fit Luna's role as a supporting character for other Signers. 21:53 Also, Fleurdelis photobombing the family photo, lol
Carlie needs more Fortune Fairy (non dark signer arche-type) support Edit: Team New World playing Mekk-Knights feels on brand. Meklords punish Synchro players. Mekk-knights punish players for card positions
Fir that clockwork deck idea. A cyberse base group of monsters that have different attributes who's fusions are connected to time wizard. Their main deck monsters have effects centered around getting time wizard and the fusions onto the field. The extra deck monsters are ones that have abilities based on the attribute. But also have a negative effect. Summoning them with a clockwork monster allows you to choose which effect you wish to use. While summoning them with a random monster of similar attribute causes you to flip a coin.
Hot Red Dragon Archfiend King Calamity is only banned on the OCG but its also available on TCG and Master Duel. Also I feel King Calamity won't get banned anytime soon. Specially in MD with how they didn't ban Archnemeses Protos and Thunder Dragon Colossus
I love Z-One's Timelords. I've been struggling to build a deck around it for the past 18months. There's a lot of things that messes with the archetype. They can't search the continuous trap for starters. No draw power either. They can't synchro summon, so no Vorpgate, nor a way to cheat out Shooting Star Dragon(Z-One's first boss monster). Time maiden is also counterproductive, because it doesn't allow you to special summon anything, not even Timelords. You can't search the Timelords that don't have 0 atk/def. At the moment it's a stun deck, even though I refuse to build it. Runicks, Horus and Mannadiums are the best options atm to increase their power. But it only fixes part of the issues. Different parts even. That's why I would love some support for the guy that tried becoming Yusei to save the world! Give me a Shooting Star Timelord, 😅
Yusei and Bruno have a crossover card Shooting Star Dragon TG EX which I'm surprised you didn't mention in either one of those sections because it counts for both archetypes
One thing I think Fortune Lady Needs is a card a Continous spell maybe god don't make it field spell. But it should immediately after Standyby phase advance the turn to the NEXT standby phase. For the obvious reason of buffing the FL's primary gimmick. That being said a card like that will get abused by decks that require the standby phase to be advanced so I'd say the effect can only be activated if a fortune lady is on either field.
Major correction, in 5D's it's Neo Domino City and The Satellite Sector. Modern Time Lords mix those with effect damage traps and not so much rely on Infinite Ain Soph Aur combo assuming you can even succeed with that and get Sephiron onto the field ONE DAY WILL ACHIEVE IT!
Semi related My fave deck to play is a combination between black rose archetype and aromage archetype in one I don't know how good this deck is (probably bad) but it's my favorite thing to run and work decently well together
Honestly speaking of time wizard it would be cool to give them a boss monster that's some sort of better time wizard with beneficial effects based on flipping 2 coins and whether you get one of three results you get some kind of effect (heads+heads=negate anything, heads+tails=destroy anything on the field, tails+tails=add one card that says time wizard from deck to hand) something cool and beneficial yet also helpful to the archetype
I can see yusei start as junk and evolve to stardust. Jack easy to get his red dragon deck with resonators to get his big negate archfields out. Aki has those rose cards but she'll definitely need some boosts. Bruno and sherry would be absolutely insane with their tech and brienne decks
You never brought up Ushio. The big guy who ends up basically becoming Team Dad, who started out by arresting Yusei. He ran an Iron Chain deck. What about him?
On the note of time wizard...oddly i kinda want to see a series of cards relating to time wizard's story...like what time related antics would it get into. Would it parody dr who? (Would be funny if it did)
Eh... Ultimaya is actually a villain from the manga, kinda like Zorc The crismson dragon is evil in the manga version so I'm not sure if they would use it due to that
Akiza would totally run a Baronne de Fleur in her deck it just fits her Rose theme perfectly. You can even make an arc about Sherry gives to her after a duel or something similar.
I think Luna would do well with the Aroma Archetype. If i am not mistaken, that Deck has it very easy to go into Lvl 5 & Lvl 7 Synchros, perfect for AFD. Maybe make a few more "Ancient Fairy" Synchros to bolster her Options, like an "Ancient Fairy Beast" as a Synchro evolution of Regulus, or an "Ancient Fairy Steed" doing the same for Sunlight Unicorn.
Yusei actually already had access to Cosmic Blazar, it just wasn't what he needed for the story. Quazar was also the culmination of his character arc, to learn how to strive for the future without sacrificing one's self for the sake of others.
