The most noticeable flaw the family made was the order they were walking in. No reasonable person would allow their kids to walk behind them in a place that isn't 100% safe. I get the father should be leading since he probably can scout the path for any obstacles that might cause sound for his fam, but definitely agree the wife should've at least been in the back

The fact that these guys decided to have a baby in this world is absolutely insane

It’s nice to see the OG host back for another How To Beat. I love both hosts equally but there’s just something about this one that adds a unique sense of nostalgia to these videos.

The one thing that really got me, was the fact that the monsters opened their protective armor when listening. So just sit silently, wait for them to listen, and then fire a round into their head. It is really no different than deer hunting.

I think the best way to survive is to use a drone with a speaker to attract the mosters away from where you are.

Why is nobody talking about Lee? He’s the sole reason the family survived this long and his hard work paid off, such a shame, he was one of the best characters

I feel like in this scenario military or cops would test sound weapons right away and--upon noticing the most obvious and exploitable weakness ever for a movie monster--these things would be exterminated or at least driven into hiding (assuming they're intelligent enough to do so).

Since Marcus is sick he would be a sitting duck watching Bo. He can’t move, so he can’t get to him quickly to prevent noise nor can he evade danger should noise be made. He certainly can’t speak out to stop his brother from doing something reckless.

Let’s be honest this lady had no business getting pregnant during a potential apocalypse.🤷🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️

It always confused me how they could differentiate prey sound from anything else. Why aren't there like 30 monsters stuck attacking the waterfall for making splashing noises, or hell, attacking the other creatures from the sounds they make hunting. They charged the kid for the rocket toy sounds, which are not organically made, so why not just set up a speaker system on top of a weather balloon, shove it off, and draw every creature in the country away to death valley or something

What I love about this movie is that, not only is it very suspenseful, but the characters feel so real The family doesn't make poor decisions, and when they do, they make sense

14:45 I think you mixed up the reason why he wouldn't take Reagan to the river, it was a chance to explain to his son that he doesn't have to be afraid all the time, because by the waterfall he can make all the noise he wants and the creatures can't hear him, very hard to do that with a deaf child that doesn't know how loud anything is. Reagan had to stay home to help her Mother, she couldn't have gone instead and Dad couldn't have explained without giving away the surprise for his son.

the dumbest mistakes in this movie is that they left their youngest child at the back of the line which is so dumb bc the kids shouldve been in the middle and the parentsat the front and back. Mistake no.2 is her getting pregnant in a bloody apcolapsype where the smallest soiund means death and babaies are super fuckin loud and nothing will truly block out the sounds they make. And also i agree with u that lee's death couldve been avoided like even if evelyn didnt do anythin lee still couldve thrown the axe againt the wooded shack which woldve made the alien go towards that instead of him just standing there and yelling. Other than those its still a good movie.

My first priority would be getting onto a boat or island. The creatures are thin and heavy, easily heard running from a distance, so although they are shown holding their breath underwater, it is unlikely that they can swim. Boats would be the safest place but no boat stays afloat forever so moving to islands and building walls on the beaches would be top priority.

First thing I’d do is prioritize several rooms be soundproof. Humans make unintentional sounds all the time, such as stomachs rumbling, as well as snoring. If several rooms were made soundproof, this gives Evelyn more places to hide. Secondly, communication is key. While Evelyn is pregnant, I’d have made it a rule that while Lee is out with either Marcus or Reagan, the other has to stay put with their mother in the event she goes into labor, as well as make sure Evelyn stays put in one of the soundproof rooms so she doesn’t need to worry about making noise. The basement itself was a bad idea to begin with. Asides the nail, there’s always the stress of squeaky floorboards. Seeing that the creatures attack blindly at anything that makes noise, I’d try out a few traps. Such as digging a few holes that are several feet deep. These creatures don’t possess echolocation since they can’t detect anything in front of them unless it makes a sound and would be best to make while it’s raining heavily to mask the noise. After that, it’s a matter of covering the holes with something to help you find them. You don’t wanna fall into one yourself. The idea isn’t to trap one of the creatures, but more to get it to run and get a limb into one of the holes with its momentum, causing it to injure one or several of its limbs. This would slow down the creatures significantly if they’ve gotta deal with an injury. This also gives us time to observe the healing rate of the creatures. Now, while this may cause the other creatures to be more cautious, they may begin to feel around for traps, meaning that they’d be less likely to charge. The best case scenario would be that a creature loses a limb, and we’d be able to use a freezer to contain the limb while we gather chemicals from the pharmacy to test different chemicals on the creature’s flesh and exoskeleton.

So nice to actually see the OG host back again, and not have to see that other dude's face every 40 secs

From what I remember all it takes is 1 shot from a shotgun to the head. The whole movie is a joke because armies have literal airplanes, tanks, machine guns etc. yet they didn't do shit.

A couple years ago, my parents showed me this when I walked in on them watching it, 2-3 years later and I realise that its sadder than it is scary. 10/10 movie.

I think the best way to destroy the monsters is lure into trap by low sounds until they get close to the trap and create super extreme loud noises.

Why would they not just live by the waterfall? Or down in some deep cave with entrances easy to block off? Or why not dig a giant moat all the way around your property? Or build a giant artificial waterfall that covers up any sounds you happen to make?

Seriously A Quiet Place has to be the scariest and saddest movie ever it’s full of loss and emotional moments that it makes me want to cry

The creatures or their menace do not change based on daytime. They are active 24/7. I totally agree on that the family leaves the child at his own devices. Children are children and if you look after them in normal times, then you should be twice as careful during scary times.

I'd survive A Quiet Place by making my home near the waterfall, where the monsters already know there are regular loud, confusing noises. Yes, the farm gives you a building pre-built, but if they are able to survive this well in the face of this monster outbreak, then they should have considered what value there would be in living somewhere that will conceal small noises.

Even the monsters had plot armor... I mean, they were supposed to be sound reactive creatures, but when the plot needed it, they were clever ambushers that didn't even need sound to find their prey.

24:19 "Submerging her infant is a terrible idea that would likely end in its death" Yes and no... Newborns not only hold their breath as a reflex but also swim, so drowning wouldn't be a huge danger if it's quick. The real danger would be the baby crying when taken out of the water.

1. Don't take a sick kid/person with you when searching for medicine for said sick person. Yes, they are an extra set of eyes, but if he's to weak/sick to walk then why bring him. This would free the dad up to pay attention to the youngest child, who should not be bringing up the rear. 2. Why would you have a baby in any apocalyptic scenario, other then repopulating the planet, especially in one were you must be quiet all of the time. Yes they miss their dead child, but they just put everyone in more danger until the baby is grown to know the current living situation. 3. Why not scout out a better home closer to either a loud river or the loud waterfall that Lee takes his son too? 4. How and where did they get all of that sand? What if an animal, another person, or the wind carries it away?

Well, from what I've learned from Mat Pat, the frequency used to hurt them is the same frequency as the sound coming from a musical instrument. So basically, I'd take some lessons in an instrument like a violin and use that to stun the close-up creatures long enough for someone to shoot them down.
