Got to comment here on the Carbon Monoxide poisoning here, unless you stay low to the ground constantly, it's not as quick for adult humans as in this movie. Besides the fact that the most common source would be a garage in a lot of cases (because the old gas-powered-car-in-garage-trick), Carbon Monoxide is often a little bit heavier than normal, everyday air. So, get to a higher floor to make survival temporarily easier. Both these ladies need to break out via damaging the frame of the home or find a way to break the shatter-proof glass. A ladder might help at least one of them survive a little longer too. Honestly, what these ladies should have done after moving was simple - get a dog as a pet! Not only are dogs awesome, but they often pay themselves back via various means. First, Fido (or whatever the dog's name is) will be a good way to ensure no one tries breaking into your home, Smart-Home or not. Second, the dog can alert your neighbors if there's a situation like in the Sauna. That way even if you can't escape - 911 gets called up. Lastly (said because this happened to one family dog that survived my mom's family), the dog will likely get Carbon Monoxide poisoning BEFORE it can affect any humans and will act strangely before any person would. This can be a good "Bird in Mine" test - dogs act drunk if they get mild Carbon Monoxide poisoning. You can bring the dog to the vet once you find an escape route, so Fido can survive this. Plus, Fido can be trained to attack and hold anyone you are not okay with having on your property - which could include the creep hitting on your under-age daughter there.

@@t.rellis834 to be honest with all the issues a smart home has security wise the ccp is least of your worries unless you have state secrets on your local network at which point you already are in breach of regulation. Yeah it is horrible for your privacy but its not like the non ccp companies wont sell your data publicly either (another reason why smart home stuff is bad, privacy) but it doesnt hold a candle to the immediate threats to your safety that can result from something important being "smart"ified. Your average home robber isnt going to be using those semi-public databrookers and if someone with those resources (or the ccp etc) wants to break into your house/network/computer youre already fucked anyways. meanwhile some random guy can buy a dolphin which can probably spoof your rfid ID you use to open your front door, or access the random unsecured wifi to access your home security and turn it off, or view the videos/images of your security cameras that your "smart" camera provider decided to put on the internet accessible without a password or any other kind of identification just by guessing/using a script to guess the URL (looking at you ubiquiti), to name a few ways that smart home shit can fuck you up. Plus you really dont want your computer to be infected by a sus/insecure smart device, be part of a botnet, which does the really illegal shit (e.g. stuff involving pictures of children) because even the tiny bits of the stuff it stores for that are highly illegal even if you didnt know your computer was doing anything like that. I could go on for a few dozen more paragraphs, but i think we both know how bad this is. But hey at least the ccp spying on you is the least of your worries

My company is doing this security initiative, which involves giving everyone AD-integrated access based on their work hours which can be cut off from their keycard by IT the second they are terminated. The whole thing is network accessible(which is cloud accessible thanks to VPN), has multiple people with access to the system, still has the downfall that someone could just leave their keycard lying around, and NO ONE CAN EXPLAIN TO ME HOW IT’S MORE SECURE THAN A SIMPLE LOCK AND KEY.

if it's a sauna for certain businesses then they have limitations on how much heat they can put out so it can't really kill people quickly but they're only limited to be that "weak" because people have indeed died in an old school sauna it's basically impossible because you bring in hot rocks from a fire pit that is outside the sauna and then steam water on the hot rocks but in modern saunas they are typically hooked up to natural gas so if you have a private made one.... well there's no one who made sure it was limited in how many BTU's it can put it and so theoretically you could make a room sized oven pretty easily..... also the horrifying thing with steam is it doesn't get hot enough to actually kill nerves so you feel yourself being cooked, fully and completely, until your brain gets cooked.... with fire it kills the nerves rather quickly.... imagine how painful a burn is and now just think that over half the nerves in that area aren't even reporting pain.... imagine the full pain of being cooked..... fuck
