@john wheeler that’s EXACTLY what I am thinking about doing! There should be no reason why I am still an associate after 4 years! That’s almost unheard of! I can do pretty much everything in our department.

There are a few ways to become a Cyber Security Engineer, this is why you need to know what's the exact position that you want to go after, this way you know what are the certifications you need.
depending on what path you wanna go... if you follow Cisco path don't change to comptia , etc. Cisco is vendor specific and comptia is general. Both hold same value but it's recruiters preferring cisco if they use cisco devices in company
@@kingplutoxiao1 Sec+ and CCNA security are meant to be on same concepts but you can't do CCNA security directly. So first CCNA routing and switching or relative then you can choose security . Similarly CEH and Security+ is same excluding practical examples. And you can't do cysa directly either without job experience. if you do then you need to have sec+ ... Twisted business models ofc
@@vgplays1862 ccna security is actually above the the sec+ The CySa in theorr you could just skip to it because there's labs like tryhackme but sec+ / ceh in theory are baselines for fundamentals
@@kingplutoxiao1 Yeah, because for CCNA sec you need CCNA first that's why. I've done both sec+ and ceh and I don't wanna switch to cisco as the renewal is mandatory and costs a lot for any certification.
I thought the Linux+ was the same as the LP-1 And CyberOps Associate vs CySa+ most recruiters told me CySa+ and never heard of the CyberOps Also the CySa+ half of it basically is the Security+
Linux+ was the same exam as LPIC-1, and "powered" by Linux Professional Institute(LPI), in agreement with CompTIA. That was until October 1, 2019 when CompTIA decided to start offering its own exam as Linux+ alone. Cisco CyberOps Associate is relatively new and not as well known as CySA+ to the IT recruiters. I would rather do CySA+ because it's vendor-neutral and more marketable of the two. Go for Cisco CyberOps only if your job demands it.
@@kingplutoxiao1 Those are two different exams. CCNA Security is a vendor-specific certification from Cisco, while Security+ is a vendor-neutral from CompTIA. Since most employers(private and public) request for CompTIA Security+ as a requirement for entry level cybersecurity jobs, it's advisable to start with it.
@@OmoAfrika They do for government jobs but i personally would study the material from the Security+ and get the CySa+. Half of the CySa+ is the Security+
