Please do a video of stick calls. I love David’s stick calls when he’s dealing for Alex

I'm an introverted person, and I've been working for the past three years at Dunkin Donuts while I was in college. I couldn't talk to people, and after a few years I became the most bubbly person at my store. Working in customer service will break you in and becomes really easy after a couple years. You absolutely do not need to start out extraverted for ANY job except maybe sales but that's only because extraverted people are the only ones crazy enough to do sales.

I learned most of what I know from Jeremy’s channel. Our first trip to Vegas, I knew I had to learn how to play. I started at RU-vid and found Colorup. It was hands down, the best channel to learn from. Once y’all hit the scene y’all are about the only 2 channels I watch for craps.

I have been a Craps dealer in Cripple Creek, mostly Wild Wood casino, for around 9 to 10 years now, I love dealing craps, and table games, you could also consider dealing poker, because it is good money. Learn to deal craps, and you can get a job at any Casino, because all casinos always need craps dealers, which is why I always just delt craps. I learned on the job, at Womacks 1 month before they switched over to Century Casino back in 2011.

How do you remember the odds calculations when you distribute the payouts?
@TheMysticMonkey09
@TheMysticMonkey09 3 года назад
@@marzblaq7267 We often times will pay a bet so often, that we naturally will remember about 90% of all the basic action, and only rarely have to take about 10 seconds or 30 seconds to calculate a payout. We do like to add all the payouts together and pay it all at once, in 1 quick payout, instead of paying out 1 bet, then going back paying out again. Also, we will normally have a Boxman who sits in the middle of the game, who will keep the game moving fast, and instruct what a payout will be, to keep the game moving, so that we can pay those bets faster, to keep the game moving. Basically, just just muscle memory.

@@TheMysticMonkey09 I love hearing from actual craps dealers. You guys and gals are in a league of your own because there's no way in hell that just anyone could do all that shit. That's why I always put $1 bets beside my bets for you dealers. I play in Tunica, MS. Thank you for what you do!!
@pd9971
@pd9971 2 года назад
@@TheMysticMonkey09 So the boxman will calculate all the bets for you? Meaning he does all the work as far as the math is concerned and all you do is hand out the amount of cheques he tells you is that right?
@TheMysticMonkey09
@TheMysticMonkey09 Год назад
@@pd9971 Often times, a boxman will calculate bets for a new dealer, to keep the game going face, the boxman, more or less, is the referee, and makes sure everything that is going to get paid, is correct. So they some times calculate it, but are more like the monkey in the middle, directing the dealers, to send money out. Basically, auditing the money as it goes out.

I always loved the term "Croupier" over "Dealer". Sounds so much more poetic. typical French romance. The English have so bastardised the Gallic tongue. What do you do for a living? "I'm a Pharmaceutical Croupier"...so much nicer than "Drug dealer"
@sunnyscott4876

I have always felt that some games have dealers...blackjack, poker and other games have croupiers. But now it's like everyone is an "actor" and you can't be bothered with saying "actress". It's too much trouble.

In general, your shift is 8 hours, and all your breaks are paid. You usually work 1 hour, then get 20 minutes off, all day. So, no unpaid lunch/dinner breaks, but you have to learn to eat fast.

Man, I want to make enough money in my current career to leave it forever and deal dice. I love people and the game, but that break-in year would be a tough sell. I hope dice gets legalized in California and maybe I can learn at CEG and deal part time.

My dealer skills don't amount to much other than a friendly friday night game with the guys, I wish I could win enough at Dice to have a day at CEG school. Be worth the money just to engage in conversation with David. I imagine some of his life stories would be pure entertainment. The one where the dice flew off the table and into some womans cleavage...ttwice. Always love listening to veterans of a particular industry or trade. I once sat on a Vegas flight next to a guy going to the "World of Concrete" expo, which is one of the largest conventions (or was, 60,000 people) on the Vegas Strip. Now while Cementitious Products are not exactly fascinating conversation on 4 hour flight I loved it, as I have a sideline in Property Management. Amazing amount of "Free" information I received from him. Great when dealing with industry cowboys (no offence to any honest construction personnel out there). COWBOY - "Blah, blah, lots of fancy lingo" ME - Um I thought it was this, that and the other? COWBOY - *Oh crap, this guy knows what he is talking about.....* Thanks Mr Concrete!

The number one thing when I play that I want to have happen is a lively bunch of dealers that are having a good time as well. There is nothing worse than having your dealer be a gargoyle stuck to the edge of the table just waiting for the rotation and shift to be over. I would rather catch cold dice than have to play with that. I get that at the end of the day, its a job and they are there to make money but in that job, you HAVE to be a people person and have a personality as that is what you do all day. There is 1 at my local casino that if they are there, I just wont play because they are just a stick in the mud and really take the wind out of your sail. Just an emotionless statue that stares off into the distance regardless if you are tipping or not.

I’d love to deal craps, I know I have the personality and the mental acumen, but I worry about the strain on my back. You guys put a lot of pressure on your bodies.

Do casino dealers get a significantly reduced room rate? It'd be cool to live and work in a casino 😁

I have a question Mr. David I also thought about becoming a dealer as a side hustle when I retire. My question is Does the tip pool include all games or are there certain games that have their own tip pool. And which is more lucrative?
@maddeeab

It is all games, check with casino if they do shift pool or 24 hour pool. Smaller casinos allow dealers keep their tokes

Can you play where you work. I have heard both ways on this. I would think not fearing collusion but have never heard a solid answer on it
@robertgosney5657
@robertgosney5657 3 года назад
Well I think that is largely determined by Casino policy's I know when I started working where I work we couldn't gamble there then after a few years they went to a policy where you couldn't gamble in the department you work in and you couldn't play on progressive slot machines and the fact we no longer have a poker room. Means that since I work in table games I can't play in table games and I can't play on slot machines that have progressives and as they keep bringing in newer machines a large portion of the machines have slot machines that have some kind of progressive payouts on them it doesn't leave a lot of choices well that and I don't really play slots much anyway. I can still make sports bets but I have learned I suck at trying to pick Football games so I have discovered that was not a very good decision for me either. But there are places with multiple casinos with in walking distance of each other so it might be a situation where you get off of work at 1 casino change your shirt walk next door and gamble if you want.

Most, if not all casinos have ‘no gamble at the casino you work policy’

At my casino there are 3 options which are Days (12pm-8pm) Swing 8pm-4am) and Grave (4am-12pm). I can't speak for all casinos

Im a dealer in Vegas, everyone is expected to start on "swing shift" which is 7-3am or 8-4am. As you gain seniority you can switch to a different schedule, but thats' where everyone starts for the most part. Swing shift at a "break in" casino.
