Due to a series of events that happened in my life (to sum up a long story it involves mental illness, drug addiction and a suicide attempt) I haven't really left the house much in the past 4 years. I'm talking about sometimes it being several months between leaving the house for appointments. What really helped me get out of the house recently was reframing my anxiety when being in public by telling myself- "Nobody cares who you are or what you look like, and if they do it's just for a moment and then they're thinking about something else 5 seconds later". Most people are quite self involved in their own bubble of reality, so there's really nothing to doom about if you do get stared at a bit.

Meditating has changed my life exponentially! From seriously, working less and tripling my income, my well-being, my health, my fitness, has improved to the point where people are asking me what I am doing, and why I am looking younger and getting compliments on my physique. I am 59 years old./Young! Meditating and the mind control that comes from it, evolves and flows into anything and everything in my being that I want to do and change. At least that’s how I feel it’s worked for me. I do it every morning before I get out of bed, and I fall asleep to guided meditation every night. Thank you for all of your podcasts and great knowledge~that I have learned so much from. Highly appreciating you and your guests.🎉❤😊🎉

Cory is the man when it comes to practical applications of mindfulness, meditation, self awareness, etc. I was fortunate enough to discover him through Aubrey Marcus about 10yrs ago and have been following his stuff ever since. My own meditation habit has been slacking over the past 2yrs and this episode made it really clear how much I need to get back into the swing of things again! Thanks Cory!

Intellect is very susceptible to outside influences, whereas intuition is organically your voice, if you can really tune into it. Although we feel that our intellect is truly “us,“ it really is quite permeable. Intuition more truly represents the true essence of who we are - it is organically impermeable. Intellect can be trained whereas intuition, can be ignored or encouraged and developed, but that development does not come from outside influences. I love the way Cory described how the two work in partnership - pay attention to - and sit with - the intuitive feelings / messages and then allow the intellect to sort through them.

@Musicfan5075 it depends. Some people really do prefer to be away from others. I love being on my own, i can spend weeks at a time. But it is a choice, and not fully realised as I do have friends and family and realistically I think if it wasn't a decision to be a bit of a hermit, if I had no one, that would be very different. I don't think a person can be content with no one having your back.

I rationalize too much, this was perfect for my current situation. I tend to know exactly what I want but then question if it’s something that God wants me to do. Is that over analyzing as well? How do I keep from being a selfish individual pursuing my own dreams and follow spiritual guidance?

Chris, you are the main character. We're all watching you so you better not screw up... jkjk. This had me write down "you are a background character" which is a surprise to myself since it sounds negative but it really isn't as it gives you permission to screw up. Plus it's true technically. Good stuff!

What if you have proof though before an interaction occurs in which you expect a negative reaction? Like... a belief that Most girls don't like "thing" about me, when you have actual proof of those numbers and facts? If you're missing an eye or have a giant scar on your face, most girls wouldn't prefer a mate w those issues. That's an actual fact. That's where the disconnect is for me.

13:33 geez I must say I hated that you used "dating" as an example for him to explain these defence mechanisms and how to over come them. How about asking about, idk let's say a mature age student, in their 40s, studying their BSc degree and did quite well in the first year. But maybe year 2 advanced mathematics and precalculus was this person's "river". That would be very interesting to understand. Rather than, " duh, why can't I talk to a chick"
