Thank you Jessie. You're a powerful speaker with an important message- The notion of solving societal problems through a belonging lense makes so much sense.
I love Jessie's powerful insight of using belonging as a lens through which to grow community through the power of values and relationship, whether that is within our family, our neighbourhood, or our workplace. Connection, and therefore belonging can only come from truly understanding each other, and then collaborating with each other to find ways to ensure each other's needs are met. Bravo Jessie!
Wow, coming from an emotional intelligence expert and trainer, this means a lot. Speaking of connection and collaboration - so grateful we are finding ways to make it happen!
Thanks Anita, I really look forward to reading your book and many many more conversations. The work you do is so critical and love how you foster a sense of belonging in all that you do.
Thank you Jessie! This lens really is relevant in so many dimensions, from the intimate to the international. I am eager to learn more about how 'belonging' supports the healthy rebuilding of Indigenous legal principles, processes, and institutions that have been denied, distorted, and denigrated through colonialism. There is an essential tension, I believe, between individual freedom and agency and collective responsibilities and expressions of value (both of which are asserted as and through law). Much to think about - namaste!
Thanks Simon! Working on Indigenous and non-Indigenous relationship building using a belonging lens can be so freeing. When we see any issue from the lens of home (worldviews), values and relationships, time and time again the value at stake that participants identify is Respect and Understanding. When we take this lens into legal principles, processes and institutions magic happens. So grateful you do what you do. Would love to hear more of your thoughts as you process this and apply to your own work. Thanks for contributing so much!
Thanks Andrea, your TEDx shows so beautifully how violence against women impacts our sense of belonging - within ourselves, with each other and even in the world. Finding and developing our voice is such a key step to restoring dignity and belonging. Thank you for the work you do!
Great insight to the power of belonging - or the missing of belonging creating such suffering. Great talk Jessie - I'm really getting why it feels so good to connect with my communities. This is a game changer.
Thanks Jill, so thrilled this was a game changer. Your amazing work has been a game changer for thousands, so I'm thrilled i can make a contribution and hope it will inspire people to practice "radical courage" and the tenacity to hold on to our values and relationships during this time of rapid change in our world.
Thank you so much Jessie - feel my bow to you and all you have done and continue to do for yourself and others around you regarding the value and necessity of belonging:)
Thank you Jan for giving me an opportunity to see more clearly how I came into the world and what gift I can give back to the world. the bow is mutual : )
Bravo Jessie pour cette intervention qui est riche, tant humainement que dans l'analyse. En plus de tes contributions théoriques avec ton site WorldView strategies, ta démarche est vraiment un apport précieux dans les relations humaines et interculturelles. Merci ! Ihab Banabila
