Just started prepping my garage for polyaspartic. I diluted water to muriatic acid 3:1 and i found it did nothing on my newer concrete. even after a couple times. But when i dripped full strength muriatic acid on the floor, it cleared that top coat off perfectly and opened up the pores. I read to never do that though for unknown reasons. So i got nervous and just got my 7" grinder and a double segemented cup wheel and going to town. So much extra work and i don't even know if its worth it. Makes for a stressful job with all this trial and error lol

Observation and question: why is it that so many professional painters lack any sort of basic decency or grace in their online interactions. It’s unmistakable if you’re a part of the so-called paint community. The hostility and aggression and contempt for others and their questions shameful. Not to say that we’re like a church or something, but it’s embarrassing, the level of ridicule that some of us heap on others. There are saint among us though-Chris, Nick Slavick, the PDCA. But then what could I possibly know, and what insight could I have into the painting world? I’m just a 24 year old who happens to call himself and estimator, and who extended his lunch break 15 minutes to write this ineffective comment.

Color me impressed. Lol. I just found your channel and dig what you’re doing. When I fling, or toss crushed shell, or flakes, I tend to refer to the action as “broadcasting” with the customers, as it’s the correct terminology and they seem to appreciate this. I love the fact you’re using the Clad line of products for this. I worked on our local 3M plant here about 25 years ago and we used the Clad line back then. We also had to use aircraft stripper to get the old coating off, muriatic acid to etch, Armor Clad for fill. The pot life was impressive and the product was extremely hot. We melted a metal bucket with some leftovers. We weren’t using the waterborne line. Lol. Going to be surfing your vids again soon.

Wow! Thats an insanely high price to essentially paint a large wall. Its easier than painting a wall being a floor. Possibly 1/2 day of work. That must be one nice bid package for someone to have paid that. 🤣 767 for a guy to throw confetti?!?!?! OMG! All joking aside. What am I missing here? Is the epoxy coating product really expensive?
@phineusphineas
@phineusphineas 3 года назад
What you are missing is being licensed, bonded, and insured; plus taxes, plus material costs, plus a guarantee of quality with no subsequent charge attached to repair if the epoxy fails to adhere, plus the missed opportunity costs of not spending that time doing more lucrative projects or just spending time with family. We have a fixed amount of hours in our lives that no amount of money can increase. How much is your time here in this realm worth?
@ChannelEleven59
@ChannelEleven59 3 года назад
@@phineusphineas no, im not missing any of that. Business license, insurance, and any extra bonds a business carries post insurance is minimal overhead. You cant cite basic business necessities as a reason to charge this much money. Plus I dont think you speak for Chris. Every other pricing video I have watched from Chris made sense to me. In fact, I just won a bid using Chris’s pricing model for cleaning and staining a fence (35 a side). In closing I have done an epoxy floor. It was in a brand new garage that was clean and had just been acid etched. Cutting, rolling, and adding the flakes took less than half a day. It was a garage of this size. Id really like to know what product Chris is using. I have a feeling it was something better than what my customer chose.
