In this video we will be binding the emax transmitter to the tiny hawks flight controller and figure out the right settings for it. Click here for the emax hex file: drive.google.com/file/d/1xbCc...
4 years later and this video still saved me! My issue occurred after attempting to update the firmware which cleared the Receiver settings and I was lost for a couple days with only the RED light blinking (no BLUE light), unable to pair to my radio. Thanks for posting this for the rest of us!
I bought my Tinyhawk S 3 years ago. I could not never bind this stupid lousy piece of shi'''''' tried sometimes, and got frustrated after using countless hours, let it rest for 1/2 a year tried again got frustrated again.... and so on... today was the day BIND was succesfull. Than you very much for this accurate help that I was not able to find anywhere else. May trees never harm you.
Hey that’s some awesome news man. Time to catch up and put some hours on that bird. Glad to hear this video helped. Please like and subscribe if you haven’t already. Thank you so much for the support.
Good sir, thank you so much! I was trying to battle the drifting issue and stupidly restored my TH to default settings(which erased the sht out of my quad) and then spent a whole day searching for answers to wtf did i do. Found a few tutorials on how to bind it back to the transmitter - yours was the first to work, so you saved my day. Thank you once again - you’ve just lifted a noob out of the void of ignorance and frustration!
Thankyou!! my wife is a middeschool science teacher, the kids use the quads in class(tello and tinyhawks) and they fly them to death (literally). This is my 3rd TH FC, I though the kids my have broken the had controller also.... new FC and motor is connected and ready to head back to the classroom. I have discovered emax has installed 2 different FCs for the (origional)tinyhawks. Matek411+Matek411RX, this was discovered when a student forcibly inserted the battery backwards and let out the "magic smoke"... bought the TH-s FC, installed, bound, no problems....I did look at emax's site(download instructions) to see if there was any info in this file... YUP sure was, guess I still havent grown up, I still dont read instructions.. Again a BIG thank you...
Rob Axelsson lol drones are so therapeutic for everyone it’s seems. Glad to be of help my friend. Please like and subscribe if you haven’t already. I appreciate all the support.
Wondering if there is a way to reset the trim on stock radio. My sons will hover no problem so it reacts as expected. Mine will not and is difficult to control.
Can you bind multiple drones to this transmitter? For example the new Emax race ? I m thinking of buying the rtf kit and another Emax model (race or freestyle)
I know this is an old video just trying my luck but I have a Radiomaster tx12 and a used tinyhawk but it won’t bind even thought the colour is solid blue and flashing red. The bind button is kind off broken off and when I turn it on it’s already solid blue and flashing red
I have the same problem as the other gentleman. I was able to bind by following your video. All the stick movements shows up on Betaflight. However, I'm not able to get it to arm. My story is: I bought the RTF version but lost the drone, then I bought the BNF drone, now I'm trying to bind the new drone with the old transmitter. Thanks again.
@@HoverJunkie So I found out that the flight mode switch is actually acting as an arm switch, vice versa. I emailed the merchant I bought it from and they told me that I have to contact Emax for CLI dump, so the RTF remote can work with BTF drone... I didn't know that FPV is that complicated...lol... I plan to just buy a QX7 and start from there, what do you think? Thanks again.
Hi Sir, I have the Emax EZ pilot RTF and I wanted to upgrade to Tinyhawk. is the Radio controller can be bind to tiny hawk? any experience with this. I appreciate your reply.
ok mine is bound and on beta flight i can see it receives the inputs for throttle, yaw, pitch and roll. But when i switch it to beep, it does not beep. When i switch it to arm, it does not arm. Any suggestions?
360Rumors give it throttle after arming even if props aren’t spinning it should go. I will make another video on this topic. Please ring the bell and subscribe to be notify.
Hi, I just brought a Tinyhawk2 and my son in Bataflight after doing a Backup, perform a reset, and even after a restore the drone is like dead no more everything, do you have any idea what can I do to put it back to work? I will really appreciate it. Thanks
tesimpa monami yea follow the instructions and download the hex file and for the next step watch my other video for channel mapping the Tiny Hawk. And don’t worry this is a common problem, you never want to restore a tinny hawk to default settings.
Thank you very much for this. I was able to bind to the controller following your directions. However, it will not arm, even though it's bound. In Modes it shows Arm is disabled. How do I enable it in Betaflight? It's set to Aux 1 and the range is 1700-2100 (I'm new to this and have no idea what those ranges mean). When I input STATUS into the CLI, under Arming disable flags: BADRX THROTTLE CLI MSP ARMSWITCH. Not sure what to do about that. TIA!
@@HoverJunkie Thanks for the reply. I finally figured out that the channel map in the Receiver tab was incorrect. I set it back to Default and voila! For a noob, I'm finding it take me sometimes hours to figure out what those with experience figure out in minutes. Regardless, it's up and running now!
hello i have a problem. when i take off, my drone doesn't go straight up, it moves forward a little. maybe a problem with one motor. Could you help me to set the motors right? i am really new so i don't know betaflight thanks a lot
drifting is normal, hovering stably in one place is not really possible on fpv drones. You can try pressing buttons on controller to trim the default pitch so that it's more stable in angle mode
same deal got it to bind but cant get it to activate. sorta stinks as got 2 one for my son and now cant fly during my couple days off for holiday - bummed.
Look into modes on betaflight, it happened to me that both drone and controller were bound but the controller hadn't the modes configured on the buttons/switches.
Hello - My husband is trying to bind his controller and control and we have started to watch this video and there is no blue light on the drone just a red? He's tried to connect it for months so now I'm having a turn but just wondering what it means if we don't have a blue light?
@@HoverJunkie yes its the same drone - white. He lost the original drone that came with the controller and bought just a new white drone( same as original that he lost )
Amy Renwick your very welcome... ok, no worries. I downloaded a link to the software that belongs to that drone to work with the E6 controller. Please follow the steps on both tinyhawk videos. The second video will show you to do the setting to arm and to set the acro, horizon and angle mode. Please do t for get to like and subscribe.
@@HoverJunkie I'm a absolute newbee and I'm lost. Under "Mode" section in Betaflight, the Arm shows red and disabled. But when I toggled the flight mode, the interfere with the arm section...must be something wrong at the setting...
Hello Hover! thanks for the video in first place, it surely helped many ppl! i'm very new in this world and recently bought the emax tinyhawk rtf version, flew a few batteries and now I have a problem, seems like my controller and drone does not communicate. So, when I hold the two trims my light blue will still be fix (not blinking, while the red is still blinking) and it seems I can't get over this pass, any suggestions? i'm going crazy and don't know what to do :( any help would be really apreciated! PS: I'm even having some problems with downloading betaflight and all that stuff, any help would be very helpful please! thanks in advance, keep up the good work! :)
Alessandro Calabro hello, when you mentioned the blue light staying solid when pushing the tabs on the controller, are you referring the blue light on the drone ? The controller should have a red and green light.
@@HoverJunkie yes sorry, the blue light on the drone stays fix, while the controller beeps while you touch buttons and goes red/green when you put it into bind mode. I was trying yesterday, rewatched the video, and now I have betaflight 10.7.0, I plug the tinyhawk in and I have exactly the same configuration as you put in 4:07 (everything ok till now, I think) but when I follow your steps for the receiver mine doesn't show all the movements like you do in 4:17 (still gets on, beeps when touching it, but it's not showing response in the screen). Do I have to get that Hex file from emax? I hope I'm explaining well cause english is not my first language sorry and many many thanks in advance for all the effort you do for us :) PS: when flying it few days ago I had a crash, may that be the cause for all this? is there the possibility to have the FC damaged? I'm so new in this I'm not even able to diagnose anything ahahah! Thanks again
@@HoverJunkie yes I did that, I put the FRSKY_D and save, but when I check on receptor as in 4:17 nothing moves on the screen, but my controller does beep when you touch the switches. At this point I don't know what to do :/ thanks for the quick reply :) PS: is there the possibility that something is broken/damaged? seems strange to me that the drone flashes lights and all that and the controller seems to work too but they just don't bind together :/
@@HoverJunkie ok now the controller seems to respond on screen, but when I plug the battery on the tinyhawk and then turn on the controller they seem not to have binded. Damn I thought i've got it but not this time either :/
Hello, thanks for the video... i downloaded the file, and where I put it to be able to flight the drone? Its just not arming... did all the things on the video
Hi, i uploaded the hex file from local, but it got stucked in the process and now cant connect to BF.... ant ideas how to reset the fc? Hold boot and connecting usb doesnt work eigther... br
Hi! good morning/evening. I did a Reset to my Emax on betaflight by mistake I don't know what to do to get it back, Can you send me back up file? Thank you
fassoli95 hi, you have no idea how many people do this same thing every day. Don’t worry just follow the steps on the video one and two and download the hex file you beta.
Hello my friend, I'm desperate. I have a Tinyhawk 2. The drone connected to "Betaflight". Entered the commands "set usb_hid_cdc = ON" via "Betaflight Configurator" and then "save". That worked too. Later I wanted to set the setting to "OFF". Now I get no connection to Tinyhawk. Can you help me here?
Hi there. I followed all the steps and my controller seems to be working on beta flight with the drone plugged in but it still won’t work when I plug it all in. I’m at a loss here and need help lol
Also make sure throttle lever is all the way down before arming it. For redundancy go on beta a make sure the throttle limit is below 1000 and all flight controllers are sign to the where they belong ailerons, rudde and pitch. Hopefully this helped happy flying
@@HoverJunkie weird how I decided to try again and I put my drone in bind mode and it just started working lol thank you very much for replying so quick. I’m a complete noob and am trying to learn. My first tinyhawk 2 drone is probably in someone’s garden After I lost control at a ridiculous height haha that’s why I was trying to bind my new one lol
@@glens1800 hey, glad to hear your flying again my pilot friend. Please don’t for get to like and subscribe to my channel. I really appreciate the support. Safe flight and be careful with the trees
Please help I did this but it won’t arm I went into modes and tried to mess around with it I got the beeper to work but I can’t get it to arm. Only the beeper works. I understand that there is two auxs which is the two switches.aux 1 is on the right aux2 is on the left. And each mode has on orange thing that tells you what range you have be in for that switch to do that thing well I do that and literally only the beeper works. It’s makes perfect sense I don’t see how it wouldn’t work but apparently I’m wrong
@@HoverJunkie apparently it is some kind of short on the flight controller or the vtx that is causing the drone to restart as if I just plugged it in. If I move the vtx, it resets and does the startup beeps. I have no idea. It happened after a crash.
@@andyhoughtaling6319 if not open a ticket with Emax and let them now that it just stop working don’t tell them about the crash and see if you can replace it under warranty.
Seems it did bind shows all functions on beta flight but won’t fly. When I activate it one solid blue light when I throttle up red light blinks as if it’s not throttled all the way down but it is ?
Russell "The Real Estate Guy" no worries, I will make a video in a few days about that. Your not the only pilot with this issue. Please subscribe to be notified about the up coming video.
Thanks I got it to bind all actions visible on beta flight but it won’t take off. Got solid blue light when I activate and throttle up from the red light blinks. The props don’t spin.
First off thanks for the video. So my controller from tinyhawk is configured sideways and backwards. I'm getting true and accurate reading but they're perfectly sideways. If anybody has any ideals, I am all ears. thank!
