Where that crack was is is where my skyline blew a hole about 6 inches along that plastic top section of the radiator, I was surprised they are plastic
Dam!I had a problem like this, this weekend on my mom's car. Car was overheating and leaking fluids. I replaced the thermostat and then found a crack in the radiator. Thankfully, the swap wasn't too bad but the car was still over heating and no heat. I immediately thought bad tstat so I replaced the stock one back in. This is also when I learned that it needs to be self bled. What a PITA. It doesn't overheat anymore but I'm sure there's still air in the system. More bleeding tomorrow 🤦♂️
@@Kdevyne107 I bet money it’s air in the system. So did you do work recently to coolant system? Fill coolant, change thermostat..? Anything at all? If so did you bleed the air from system? And if so how?
I got a g35 and its still heating up after changing the thermostat, I tried to bleed it out and still it ain taking the air out and there is no heat ac. Every time I put antifreeze it drains all the antifreeze out. What is the problem of the car is it the water pump if you could give me advice for it could help me out.
My cars overheating but no leaks. I changed the motor and heard about the air issues. But I changed the thermostat before bleeding. I haven’t bleed the system yet for air. But my reservoir was filling up bubbling. And the hose where the thermostat is cold when warmed up. I shut the car off for a few hours now the reservoir is empty. But will refill when gets hot. So I’m at the point where I bought a new water pump and bleeding. I’m hoping to god it’s just air. But I’m looking for a video to bleed the air. Also I believe they only put one gallon of antifreeze after they changed the motor. I saw online it takes 9.1 quarts.
Did you do this wish the car m flat land or did you put it on stands while doing it because I’m having an issue with the coolant just filling up to the radiator cap and nothing coming out of the bleed valve.
If it’s a de/ revup it has to be done flat. Bled on flat through the valve. What’s happening when you crack the bleeder? Is it just idling when you do it. at idle it won’t get hot enough to bleed properly..
Hey Raymond I have 2003 g35 had a broken radiator also replaced it and thermostat and the bleed the air out still heater not working and car temperature goes up how do I kno on this type of car if the water pump bad. Thanks
Yes it did I tried bleeding it with the spill free funnel alot of air comes out when I rev it and thermostat still won't open lower radiator hose cool and heater not blowing hot air
@@cainayala3810 you know there’s a specific way too bleed those cars? There is a valve on the back side of the engine that you crack open and close when the cars up to temp in order to bleed out air you don’t need a funnel and if it’s just at idle a lot of the time the pump won’t even kick on bc it’s not hot enough.. when I’ve done it I had to hold it at a higher rpm to get the pump to kick on them bleed the line. But if you have air getting in somewhere else it won’t work either...
hey im located in waterbury CT ! my m35 07 just started overheating and smoking today. i drive for about 4 min and the temp gage starts to rise all the way to the top. its happens pretty fast. i have alot of coolant still. my car hasnt cooled down yet so i havent tried to open the radiator cap. i work every night so i normally start my car up and let it heat up then i leave. but last night is when i realized it started to smoke like 5 min into my drive. a few months ago i put coolant in my car. i didnt know i was supposed to bleed the system. do you have any ideas ? id love to have you check out my car if you are located in CT
Air could make it fluctuate also.. either way a thermostats cheap enough but try to bleed the air first. At idle the pump won’t kick on so I’ll hold it like 1500 rpm till it’s hot then bleed it
My g35 overheats only after driving for a long distance the overflow tank starts to bubble and overflows but at idle it’s completely fine I can idle for 30 min straight with no overheat any suggestions ?
At idle the car can stay cool enough for the water pump not to even kick on. So no coolant circulates until you drive. It could be as simple as the thermostat sticking does it always take a while for it to overflow or as soon as you drive it does it?
@@A.R.K.Fab.1 I took out the thermostat and tested it and watched it open in hot water. It overheats only if I drive it for 60+min or if I give it high rpm it’ll overheat faster. I drive it to work and back (15 min drive) it gives me no problems I just gotta top it off everytime before I leave by raising the overflow tank. I also did compression test on and combustion test no signs of headgasket leak I’m thinking maybe radiator could be clogged but not sure
@@karimbakri8006 honestly sounds like air in the system. You parked it on flat and bled the air from the bleeder valve? And if you do it at idle it won’t work you have to hold the rpm at like 2k once it’s warm so the car gets hot enough to corculate the coolant if it’s at idle the water pump won’t kick on so nothing will happen when you open the bleeder. But if it’s done right it’ll flow solid water/coolant as soon as you crack the bleeder..
@@A.R.K.Fab.1 I bleed it by having the front jacked up and I followed the service manual by letting it up get to operating temp then revving to 3k and holding for 10 seconds 3 times and once it cools down I open the bleeder and refill coolant in the radiator till it overflows out the bleeder. But when I did that like 3-4 times my heat started blowing hot and then when I opened the bleeder there wasn’t coolant visible so I opened rad cap and for some reason coolant started pouring out the bleeder until I close the rad cap I’m not sure if that’s supposed to happen maybe it’s cuze the front was really high? I’m gonna try it again at a level surface. Appreciate your help
@@karimbakri8006 ya the procedure is correct accept that it has to be flat they put the valve to the highest point so when you Jack the front the rad cap is highest and when you open it then it’ll come out the highest point
