I was wondering why people were talking about burping the system. Is it because the ls1 has the thermostat towards the lower front of the motor?
@WATCHMEWRENCH
@WATCHMEWRENCH 6 лет назад
Hello J, it is my experience that people use the term "burping the systems" for all makes and models of cars not just specifically related to LS motors. I interpret that term to mean simply removing air from the coolant system. But if you have to do this job on a LS motor its very easy to do as you can see from my video. I hope this helps and thanks for watching.

Does blowing into the "T" force air back into the radiator (passenger side of the T)? I have a Stock '12 GS, and after changing the coolant I have bubbles I'm trying to get out. I get what you did, I'm just not sure about forcing air back into system through the line going back to the radiator.

I had no issues and a few years later the car still runs cool even making 800 HP to the wheels.

does this method also flush the coolant through the heater core as well? I want to make sure I am getting all the distilled water out.
@WATCHMEWRENCH
@WATCHMEWRENCH Год назад
I dont think it will get it all out and you will have pockets left with fluid.

What’s that line next to the cap on the right? Is it connected to anything? Please let me know. Thank you
@WATCHMEWRENCH
@WATCHMEWRENCH 2 года назад
That's an overflow line that just end near the frame so fluid can drain out onto the ground.

Hello Travis, thanks for watching and thanks for the question. Those are Holley LS Coil Covers and then I sent them out to have them hydro-dipped in a carbon fiber pattern.

When do u this. Are u blowing into it right at cold start or operation temperature
@WATCHMEWRENCH
@WATCHMEWRENCH 7 лет назад
Hello Lanell, thank you for watching and thank you for the question. I did that when the engine was cold. It worked perfect. No issues at all.

But if u do it cold isn’t the tstat closed so u wot get all the air out? I just did a 6.0 swap on my 50 Chevy Pickup and I installed the truck flow system and I’m about to bleed it

I’ve got basically the same car as you. Cammed and procharged. I’m running a DeWitts shortened radiator. What are your normal driving coolant temps in summer and your racing coolant temps during summer
@WATCHMEWRENCH
@WATCHMEWRENCH 6 лет назад
Hey Diesel85idi, the car runs about 180 on the highway and in the summer with the ac on it runs 185 on the highway and in heavy NY stop and go traffic with the ac on in the summer it will hit 200 to 205 but when the fans kick on the temps drop fast. If local traffic is moving well in the summer with the ac on it will run 190 to 195. No overheating issues at all for me with the stock radiator. i was concerned i would have to change the radiator but it has never overheated. Thanks for watching and thanks for the question.
@diesel85idi
@diesel85idi 6 лет назад
WATCH ME WRENCH I’m running the DeWitts rad. My temps are 10-20 degrees hotter than yours
@WATCHMEWRENCH
@WATCHMEWRENCH 6 лет назад
Your the second person to tell me that. You may want to watch my videos called "How to get more air flow to intercooler by modifying front fascia/air dam. Boosted C6 Build. Part 47" I introduced more airflow to my radiator, inter-cooler and oil cooler by doing this one mod and perhaps this is why my car runs cooler than most others.
@WATCHMEWRENCH
@WATCHMEWRENCH 6 лет назад
Also maybe you have some air stuck in the cooling system but you probably tried that if your watching this video regarding how to bleed your radiator.
@diesel85idi
@diesel85idi 6 лет назад
WATCH ME WRENCH Yes. I’ve down everything I can think of. I’m going to run it some more and see what happens. I haven’t had it on the road since I discovered the heat issue the first time I drove it.

I just bought a 07 Z06 and the previous owner had the radiator flushed and I think it has air in the system. It gets hot in traffic.
@WATCHMEWRENCH
@WATCHMEWRENCH 5 лет назад
@@dwight072 Try my method its so easy and fast to do. It cant hurt.Let me know if this helps, Also check your fans, coolant temp sensor, water pump and thermostat if this problem persist.
@dwight072
@dwight072 5 лет назад
Will do !! I’ve done it a couple times today. I added 2 bottles of Water Wetter. That seemed to help. The car has Dewitt’s radiator and fans. From what I can tell only one fan is coming on. I used a laser temp gun and I’m getting about 13* lower temps per the laser compared to the display. I’ve only had the car a week so just trying to get use to it still. It’s a 07 Z06 with a ProCharger P1SC WCCH heads and a RPM auto swap 6l80.
