Secure your Wifi connection with MAC Filtering/ Access Control
Have you ever been caugt in a situation where your wifi routers security is compromised or some one has hacked your username/password the best way to deal such things is enabling MAC filtering by doing this your wifi will only allow devices whose MAC Address are listed inside your router.

Most of the articles you find online about MAC filtering say it's totally useless and you should just disable it because a hacker can find and spoof a MAC address in seconds. Well, that may be true but I just want to keep average users from accessing my network without express permission. It's sort of like a backup security step that keeps random users off your network in case you forget to set a password or they know your password from a mutual friend or something like that.

fantastic video but can you make a video on how to schedule some of our devices to WiFi like I want to limit my kids usage of WiFi and automatically turn their devices WiFi off from 10pm to 6am ...thanks if would be great help if u make a video on it I'm also using tp link wireless router

I need your help. Someone's been accessing my network and I wanted to disable that person to connect to my wifi. I wanted to try MAC filtering but there were option for direction(incoming/outgoing), Action( Allow/Deny), Source Mac and Destination Mac. Can't seem to find any tutorial anywhere for source and destination mac. Please help.

What mac address do I put in the source and destination. I tried putting mine and the other mac addresses in source and destination respectively and rebooted. It didn't do anything. He was still connected and I could connect to.

Albaro Vasquez you can use the same procedure for mac for checking IP of MAC use the terminal and type the command ifconfig

If m security conscious, you have the option to add devices based on their MAC addresses. But in Tp-Link MAC address Access list limit is just 20 Device only. Can you please suggest the device or way to ADD 50+ MAC address in Access list ?

Hi Can anyone help me? I was having problems with WiFi, I think someone was hacking/using it so I have changed the password but I wasn’t to do this too. But will this restrict my self with my other devices that are not my mac, like my phone and iPads etc as you say you can’t log in if it’s not your MAC address?
