The over-saturation of new artists in the music industry is what makes it so hard to get your work discovered

Somebody should make a website thats only for artists to share there music and help and promote each other

I run a bass house label on soundcloud, and built it from the ground up, I started 2.5 years ago and now have over 7.5k followers, all highly engaged. Let me give ALL you artists TWO golden tips from a label, don't just drop your demo in to a label/channel with NO INTRODUCTION, it will just get put in the bin and is frankly rude. Take the time to introduce yourself, show you care about your music, and what you are trying to do. Why would any label listen to your music if you don't even take the time to say something about it? Tip number two is don't hit up a bass channel if you make EDM, don't send your music to channels/labels who have no connection to the music you make, I get 10-20 people doing this every day, and I can tell you there is no quicker way to annoy labels than by doing this.

I feel like another thing is also not being afraid to perform live or talk to people. I personally have seen little to no growth in my music over the past year but I am seeing mainly that it's because I was thinking quantity over quality.

Exactly, if you don't love your own music, and don't know for sure that it is the best, why put it out. Matter of fact, I wouldn't recommend putting it out at all if it is not what you love or know you want to do 100 percent.

This is what is so easy, you could could pay a couple thousand and your music will be advertised everywhere, people just don't do enough marketing, that's why so many don't blow up. I could do this and be a famous rapper in a week. It's all about marketing at the end of the day. That's how's rappers such as lil pump and skimasktheslumpgod blew up.

Appreciate the info bro, wen u mentioned the dude making a music video n blowing up and that paved the way for his SoundCloud... that’s what I always had in my mind. Cuz I won’t get real support if I post anything on SoundCloud or be discovered. I did a remix to drake Portland and cheated the system for the first few weeks when I posted that song cuz I had drake cover but I switched it to my name I put cover/remix between my title. I still get many views by it and I noticed lots of people put it in their playlist but they don’t follow or support. So I don’t even dare to put out my true sounds out until the right time. On my RU-vid I get basically 100 subs a month but this month looks like imma get at least 200 and some change this month. My plan is to put my old sounds from 2016 out. Once 2019 hits I’ll be able to change my game plan and do music videos since that’s what keeps people watching your videos.
