Been working on two projects for three years and only have 5 and 9 followers on spotify and kind of fine with that. I barely have the time to make the actual music let alone promote and don't really touch that much social media any more. I still get excited when someone from far away like Russia or Turkey listens in....I'd love to have a steady fan base but only really release music as I like the process and challenge of producing and it feels strange not to publish it publicly afterward... same feeling I had with Photography. I hope to find a solution to up my numbers without social media. Good luck to everyone trying :)
Top attitude 👏 You could look at dailyplaylist as an option to get your music in front if people on Spotify. No socials needed beyond a Spotify account. It’s ok if you’re making music in the niches they have. Free to start too 🤷♂️
Nope. I spent years of my life in clubs as an sound tech. And I found when I played events I just wasn’t enjoying them. I played after Feint in 2015 not again since. Happy new year 🥳
I think you should have touched on the networking aspect within your own industry circle / underground scene / local DJ circuit or what have you. A lot of the soundcloud traffic I've got on my mixes is due to the personal connections i've made in both the local scene and across the internet, instagram etc especially during COVID. Hit up your peers on IG and build some comraderie (i wouldn't suggest just sending people your tracks or mixes directly, as was said in the video you need to have a reason for them to care). Good points all around though! Cheers
@@Unders ohh I gotcha! I think as with most things if you have some solid people in your corner for feedback, support, and to look up to as examples then it's much easier to steer your course as an artist 🙏❤️
