I was actually going to get my septum pierced this weekend (it's currently winter where i live) and I'm so glad i didn't because just yesterday i got a cold. That's perfect though because now when i get it pierced next weekend instead, I wont get a cold when its a new, healing piercing as I just got over a cold.
same :') i got my septum done like 2-3 days ago and i had a breakdown today so i cried and so ofc i got a runny nose too and it was the worse- and i keep having to sneeze and i try so hard to keep it in and not sneeze-
Sarah Yost got mine 2 days ago and I love it, just don’t flip it up and down because your nose will definitely get irritated plus with the jewelry and new hole in! But it’s worth it 😍
okay question though- what to do when you just got it and it’s still healing and you can’t change the jewelry just yet? i have a curved barbell and my nose will not stop running but i can’t actually blow my nose because it gets in the way and is still sore because it’s less than a week old. i’ve just been wiping my nose and putting tissues up my nostrils but it’s unpractical and would like some more advice on what to do as it heals with a barbell. thank you in advance!
Are you able to tuck it up into your nostrils completely? That would be the only other suggestion I would give because then at least the ends won't be pulled constantly while you're blowing your nose. However, if that doesn't work, I would go to a piercer, switch it for a retainer you can tuck in completely and then don't move it at all while it heals. This should take 1-2 months. But in the end you will have a happy, healed piercing because the worst thing for a fresh piercing is to move it around or bother it too much. Good luck!
i wanna get a septum piercing, and i constantly have a runny or stuffy nose (chronic illness stuff). i was worried i wouldn’t be able to get a piercing because it’d interfere with always having to blow my nose. but seemingly won’t be an issue or it depends on the jewelry
i asked my piercer if i could get a retainer because i am prone to colds but she refused to give me one and gave me a horseshoe :( it’s too sore to touch because i just got it done a week ago and am really struggling to blow my nose
I just gotten mine 2 days ago. My nose has started to run nonstop since I got it done. How do I blow my nose until it heals enough for me to remove it for a retainer?
I needed a demonstration because everyone was like" oh it's going to be uncomfortable and wash your septum" I'm just like yeah ik but do I keep it in do I take it out like I need the details. 😂😂😂
For me I just blow my nose regularly like I did before I got a nostril piercing. I just made sure I cleaned it afterwards. Never had any problems and it shouldn't hurt.
