There are a lot of rules you’ve got to follow at Disney World. But what about those “unofficial” Disney rules that the pros say you have to follow or else your trip will be a massive failure? Sometimes, rules are meant to be broken.

From my pre-trip research, Disney is also next level for catering and having options for various dietary needs, working in the foodservice industry it's seriously impressive.

Just had a Disney Day at Home yesterday. Wore my Minnie Ears, ate a Mickey ice-cream sandwich, watched Happily Ever After (crying of course) and listened to area loop music and the resort tv. Great staycation since I can't go to the US again yet. Thank you for bringing Disney to my apartment surrounded by noisy construction and constant sirens. You help keep my spirits up.

Hey, I’m a skyliner cast member and right now there isn’t bus service to Epcot and Hollywood studios from Pop, Caribbean Beach, or Riviera. So if you can’t do heights or just don’t vibe with the skyliner stay at a different resort cause you might end up unhappy when they break the bus news to you.

I wouldn't ride on Space Mountain for years until I auditioned for the Disney parade performers and was kicked out the other door with all the rejects and was next to the park at 8am with nothing else to do, so I went into the park in my dance clothes and made it my first stop. My solo WDW was amazing. I did Epcot, then After Hours for Magic Kingdom & Animal Kingdom since I was on a work trip, hung out at Disney Springs, boated over to Port Orleans, splurged on beignets. I ❤❤❤ solo trips. I sleep in, have lunch where & when I want. I shop, wander & relax. I often return to the room in the afternoon for a nap. Then, out for dinner & more strolling. I usually eat counter service because no reservations required and Disney has some exceptional quick service restaurants. Once you've tried it, solo WDW can be a welcome vacation option. Going to WDW solo is like being a kid in a candy store. You have this freedom to do whatever you want at every moment, without having to convince other people to go along. I load up on podcasts and audiobooks to enjoy on long queues (which is way more fun than having an argument with a significant other for an hour!).

I went solo last February. I took my mom and daughter the previous July, and the whole trip was my daughter's first experience. It was so much fun, but I didn't get to do half of what I would have wanted to. Barely any Epcot. I really wanted to try the sorcerer card game, etc. Plus, Galaxy's Edge wasn't open yet. So, when I went back in February, I got to do all of that. I literally spent 5 hours just walking around GE, marveling at every sight line and little piece of star wars kitsch they packed into the place. My daughter would have been bored out of her mind!! But I loved it! I also spent a whole day just doing the world tour at Epcot with a college buddy of mine. It was a great birthday weekend!

Solo WDW is absolutely fun to do. I'm not under any pressure from friends or family on things to do, single rider lines, enter and leave the parks whenever I want, and made new friends at Teppan Edo restaurant in Epcot. Even when it felt lonely at a restaurant, the cast members who served my meals kept me happy, including one I met who I learned was born in the same city as me.

Um , actually YES, i do take my loungefly to the grocery store. I hate purses. I only use loungefly mini backpacks. And at the grocery store, i see TONS of people using them regularly

We get the Delux Dining Plan and on the last day I take any leftover credits and convert to snacks. I get snacks from our hotel shop for our flights home and put the rest in a box to ship home for friend gifts. My friends and their kiddos love it! Not super economical but we like the ease of the Dining Plans (when available) and I make sure to use each and every point 😉

I’m terrified of mascots so I’m so ready to avoid all character interaction when I finally get to go to Disney 🙈

AJ, you really nailed it with these "rules" you can break! Clinging to people's advice about which rides to ride or which restaurants to eat at can really lead to unnecessary stress and FOMO when such advice is not appropriate for your situation. Enjoying Disney should be about what YOU and YOUR group want to do, not what others say you need to do. Dumbo is a great example. Just because people says it's a "classic", at the end of the day it's jut another friggin' hub and spoke ride that is only "necessary" to wait in line for if YOU want to do it! As someone who likes solo road trips, I think that there are times when traveling solo is the way to go

The souvenirs are usually the things I use the most at home; My lounge fly backpack is the number one “purse” I use. My husband and I wear at least one of our spirit jerseys every week. My two year olds plays with our droid all the time. I wear my ears when I feel sad and they are on display at our home. Our pins are also on display.

When I went to Disneyland solo (roughly 10 years ago), I was able to hit both parks and pretty much every ride due to the "Single Rider Line".

I literally use my loungefly backpacks and bags every single day. And they're rarely on sale on the Disney website. I've also worn my ears for New Years Eve, St Patricks day, Halloween and even on random conference calls for work.

I actually DO wear a Loungefly mini backpack to the grocery store, and to work, snd everywhere else I go where I need a “purse”! They have taken over that for me completely!

Also... if you go with different people and it's their first time, you feel like you have to do all the 'big' stuff and you can never do anything new. When you are on your own, you feel so free!

i will say im terrified of heights but the skyliner wasnt too bad. i have a problem with skilifts because theyre open, but i was fine on the skyliner because it was completely enclosed, but still had a nice breeze in it.

I absolutely love your videos and newsletter! I've never been to Disney World It appears very intimidating and is very very far from where we live. After spending the past two years watching your videos and reading your news letters I am seriously considering making the trip. Are there any travel agents that can book travel (air and ground) hotel and park tickets?

Went with the family last month and I gotta say the short time I wasn’t with them was kind of nice. We split up because I wanted to do more rides one day and it was a blast doing it alone. Definitely gonna consider a full trip alone in the future to really do everything I want.
