This geode is from Australia and cost me about $6.00. Always look for a weak spot or a place where it is more indented on the geode to start.
TOOLS NEEDED:
At home laying around: Flathead screw driver
hammer
go outside to brake it
have something under it so you don't damage your cement
SAFEY GLASSES!!!!!!! you can get them at the $1 Tree, or any place that has hardware stuff.
If you want to get fancy: Chisel
ball-peen hammer .....if you hit it directly with the ball-peen hammer it could crack it but it might not give you as nice of an edge.
WARNING: Some can be harder to open and you may actually have a solid one or it maybe a thunder egg. Thunder eggs can be a lot harder and you may need a machine to cut it. If it doesn't brake after an hour of trying......you need to find a lapidary place to get it cute. Don't worry a its between $1.50 to $5.00 for them to cut depends on where you go. Video to come later on difference between geode and thunder egg.
At the place I purchases the geode they had others already open and cleaned out which I felt took away from the fun of having one. When they are broken ahead of time they can run from $20 on up depending on the size and the crystal formation.
NOTE:
This is my first video using Shortcut editing software. I hope to bring better videos in the future.
