Wow Thank you for the answer!! Appreciate it very much. Ive been struggling before but after I watched ur previous video in 5 tips of meditation, I noticed I lacked the 5th tip which is to "persevere". Now Im doing much better, my mind still wonders but I just let it wonder for like 5 mins and persevere through it, after that my mind runs out of thoughts then it calms down on its own. Haha keep up the quality work!

New subscriber! Great question and great answer. He articulated very well what many of us experience, especially as a novice. I'm currently getting certified in mindfulness for children and I've been meditating , but I'm definitely a novice and love learning more. I think it's so important to teach this to children very young and make it part of my curriculum. Look forward to checking out your other videos. You keep it simple and give clarity. I have ADHD and suffered from a lot of traumatic events, so I struggle with focus and so do many people out there. As an Early Childhood Specialist I want to give children this amazing tool, helping children to heal and cope and share with families what is helping me to heal and cope! Infinite blessings to you and everyone on here! Stick to it! It's like we Tell children at our school promoting the Growth Mindset, "I don't know this YET, but I will with practice!"

Hello there! You know, in many ways, i also feel like a beginner and it is a good thing! The beginner's mind is beautiful, it is curious, open, natural. It is when we think we know we slow our progress. Yes, i think it is so important to teach this to children, I am happy for you that you get to do that. I teach it to "older" children :) But I believe that the practice of mindfulness, of learning to transform emotions, of cultivating joy, happiness and compassion is essential for a happy life and a peaceful world. Keep practicing and let me know how I can help!

I have problems with chest tightness and discomfort which i still havnt figured out what it is so its really hard for me to breath easily with flow and that distracts me from the meditation because im focusing on breathing with ease or distracted with discomfort my natural breathjng when im not trying is shallow
@PeacefulBreathing
@PeacefulBreathing 11 месяцев назад
Hello, what you can do is to be present, aware of your discomfort and chest tightness. This sensation can also be the focus of your meditation . As you breathe in and out, notice the discomfort. Don’t run away from it. Notice the sensations and notice what your mind says … maybe it says “I don’t like this, I cannot meditate properly bc of this …” notice the tone and the dialogue. Maybe you have aversion to it. And then try to relax this area of your body, try to relax your mind around the narrative by becoming aware of the thoughts but without engaging and fueling them with more thoughts and inner talk. Practice noticing those thoughts and letting them pass by through you. That’s a great way to practice meditation with our challenges

Will meditation decrease my energy and enthusiasm for doing work for any goal?
@PeacefulBreathing
@PeacefulBreathing 3 месяца назад
It can but also anything can. A friend who doesn’t meditate doesn’t have any motivation for his work. At the same time, world class athletes use meditation to perform at their peak like Novak djokovic, Mohamed Salah , the gold state warriors basketball team and so on and on … meditation is not about detaching ourselves from everything, it’s about detaching ourselves from our cravings so we can have more freedom. But yet we have to move into the world to do what we have to do. Like athletes, they have to let go of their cravings and attachment to winning if they want to be on the moment to perform at their best. If they hold on to the idea of winning, they will become tensed. Also meditation is not about dropping your effort, we can still have goals but we also can be happy now while pursuing our goal and not be unhappy until we reach our goal. I have just uploaded a video where I start from the very beginning of the path and I think you’ll be interested in it. This is the beginning of a series of videos for pretty much the next year of content, and I’ll talk about how to move into the world with wisdom.

Which meditation is better ? Silent one or one with chanting some mantras
@PeacefulBreathing
@PeacefulBreathing 3 года назад
Hi Nishan! Silent meditation and chanting mantras are just different tools. What is better between a screw driver and a hammer? They are simply different tools to build something. Same with chanting mantras and silent meditation. Even in silent meditation, there are many ways to practice it. I teach/share about mindfulness meditation which comes from a Buddhist tradition. But there is also the yogic system with mantras and many other techniques. They both support our journey to become awakened. They are just 2 different tools. Hope this helps!

Don’t be attached to the outcome. It’s often the case that when we start meditation, we have enjoyable experience but afterwards our experience isn’t as pleasant. Remember that meditation is not about having a pleasant experience. It’s about being able to be with whatever experience is going through you.

Good video Sir, I have a query. Whenever I meditate i feel too much conscious about my breaths. Whenever I focus on my breathing, i feel breathless and hence need to actively control my breathing. How to resolve this issue? Please help Sir!
@PeacefulBreathing
@PeacefulBreathing 2 года назад
Hi Jayesh, I am happy to help you. First, I am curious to know if the video was helpful or not? If not, why that? About your breathing, well you can always switch to focus on something else than your breathing. For example, you can focus on the sensations in your body ans rest your attention there. You can also use sentences and focus your attention on the words. I made a video a few months ago about it. Finally, if you want to continue focusing on your breathing, know that it’s common to feel that our breathing is a bit unnatural when we focus on it. It happened to me. But it’s just a phase. With practice, you will relax and will accept that your breathing can take many form and be ok with that. Short, fast, slow deep, loud sometimes, it’s all fine. The important point is to be aware of it. So just stay connected with your breathing however it is. See if you can let go of your thoughts about it and be ok with however you feel. That’s the most important point. Let me know if it makes sense

Hi Rolando, can you tell me more about how you meditate, meaning in which position? Keep in mind that in meditation, we try to find the balance between feeling relaxed but yet alert. If we are too relaxed, we can fall asleep. If we are to tight, we can strain our body. But please, give me more details on how long you meditate, which position do you meditate and so on ...

How much time one should meditate in the begining ?
@PeacefulBreathing
@PeacefulBreathing Месяц назад
You can start with 5 mins a day and do your best to be consistent. And once you feel comfortable with this length, you can start increasing it. What’s important is the consistency and making it a habit.

I love your videos . Thank you ! My question is how to know if I'm breathing properly? Will i know when I find my correct breath? I am breathing from the belly, but it feels like there's more to it than just breathing from the belly .
@PeacefulBreathing
@PeacefulBreathing 3 года назад
Hello! Thank you for visiting my channel and for your comment. What do you mean by "it feels there's more to it than just breathing from the belly?". Also, the meditation I have learned and that I am sharing is mindfulness meditation. In this type of meditation, we practice to look at our experience without judgement. So in mindfulness meditation, we simply practice observing our breathing as it is without the intention to change it. We practice accepting things how they are. If the breath is short, we observe it is short, or shallow, or fast ... but as we breathe for a longer period of time, the breath become slower and deeper. Practicing observing our experience without judgement is very helpful because often in our daily life, it is our judgement that adds additional suffering. I have made a video here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cIvTwOEcTPk.html that explains why. If you meant that there's more to meditation than just breathing, then yes there is so much more but breathing is the very foundation because it helps us calm our mind and body, helps us to have more peace and clarity to look into our life, our habits, our emotions... There is also a whole world of breathing techniques in the yogic system called pranayama but I don;t know much about it. Hope this helps!

Sir finding difficult to not to control breath during meditation... feel stress Nd pain on left side of my head... please help 🙏
@PeacefulBreathing
@PeacefulBreathing 3 года назад
Instead of focusing all the time on the breath, begin to focus on something else, it could be the body like I talk about here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ng-bBGY0FCw.html or you could practice this meditation: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MSJacX2yIUU.html which is one of my favorite to practice. As for the pain in the left side of your head, see if you can bring your attention there and maintain your focus on the area where the pain is. On the inhale, become aware of the sensations, on the exhale, release the tensions around it. Practice like this for a few mins. I sometimes have pain in my belly or discomfort so I lay down on my back and bring my attention to my belly and practice just like I told you. After a few mins5, sometimes 10 or more I feel much better. There is also this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cIvTwOEcTPk.html that will help you too. Let me know how it goes and if this was helpful!

Sir how to exhale while doing meditation? From nose or mouth..?
@PeacefulBreathing

Usually, breathing in meditation is done via the nose. We breathe in and out through the nose. If for some reason, you cannot breathe through the nose, say you have a cold or something, then it's okay to breathe through the mouth. Hope this helps. Any other questions?

Some people hold a stone in their hands and instead of focusing on their breathing, they focus on the sensations of touching the stone. You could try that. And then you could come back to feeling your breathe, breathing in and out through the nose. Try to feel the air in your nose or your chest or you belly. Maybe put your hand on your belly and feel it rising and falling
