In this video I will show you how to brew a large concentrated boba shop size batch of Jasmine Green Tea for those who own a bubble tea shop. I'm also listing conversions below, including if you're interested to simply make a strong single serve for my recipe videos.
The overall concept for my drink recipes is that you want your tea base to be a very strong concentrated brew in the tea urn, then add in a little hot water later, the flavour ingredient syrup, for the drink you're making, and then you bring down the temperature and add in the volume from melting the ice. This way you. an decide how strong you want the tea flavor, without diluting the drink. I have listed some of my recipe videos further below so you get a better idea for this unique one-of-a-kind concept.
Measurements:
Full Batch
❤️ 125 grams Jasmine Green Tea (USA = 4oz*) *note you're measuring the weight of the tea, not the volume.
❤️ 5 liters of 70 celsius Water (USA = 1.32 gallons) (158° Fahrenheit)
Half Batch
❤️ 62.5 grams Jasmine Green Tea
❤️ 2.5 liters of 70 celsius Water (USA = .66 gallons) (158° Fahrenheit)
Small Batch
❤️ 31.25 grams Jasmine Green Tea
❤️ 1.25 liters of 70 celsius Water (USA = .33 gallons) (158° Fahrenheit)
Single Serving
❤️ 2 heaping Tbsp Jasmine Green Tea
❤️ 200ml of 70 celsius Water (USA = 6.75oz) (158° Fahrenheit)
These videos below would best utilize the strong concentrated green tea made from this video:

Thank you so much for this! Bought some boba shop quality jasmine tea online but failed at making fruit tea with it the first few times because I used boiling water and steeped it so long thinking I needed a bitter strong base. After I followed your recipe and steps for the small batch jasmine tea, then used your mango green tea recipe but substituted with lychee puree, I successfully made an iced lychee green tea! With the perfect amount of sweetness!! Thank you thank you! This was the video I needed! 🙏

Hello Thy Vo - Thank you 😍 I bought them through a UK distributer called 'Boba Box UK'. But you can also search for them online and probably find similar. They're quite expensive, but I think it's just because it's not an every day type item you can find available. They're insulated and do a pretty good job keeping the tea hot/warm throughout the day. 👍🏼

Hey I love your videos! I was wondering how important a shaker machine is for the shop? Im opening a shop in a couple months and its called boba bar so I kinda like the idea of the customers watching us shake the drinks like if you were at a cocktail bar. Would that work or does it need to be shaken much more vigorously than cocktails and is this idea (that also saves us money on a shaker) not very good? Thanks for all your help!
@BubbleTeaKristin
@BubbleTeaKristin 3 года назад
Hey Dillon, Great question! And congrats on opening a shop up! So exciting. I'd love to visit and support you one day! Feel free to let us know when/where it's opening up! If that's your idea for the Boba Bar, then probably best you stick with your idea for hand shaking. Just bear in mind that the upside to a shaker machine is especially great when it becomes busy! The staff can multi-task the rotation of the drinks being made... However, if your shop has a bar-type feel, and people will be hanging out (in other words not only getting quick take-away drinks) then hand shaking is best. Hope sharing my opinion helps 😁

Hi Kristin, and how often do you need to make tea per day at the shop? I would have my shop open from 11-8pm.
@BubbleTeaKristin
@BubbleTeaKristin 2 года назад
Hey Natalie, It depends how busy your shop is, what size insulated tea urn you have, do you wanna do half batches throughout the day so it's more fresh, or do you feel comfortable brewing one large batch in the morning...? These are all things to consider. If your shop is new and not opened yet, brew a smaller batch in the morning and more throughout the day. Then once you learn how much you use each day, you'll easily be able to brew a morning batch and simply keep it throughout the day, with not a lot of waste at the end of the day either. Hope that helps!

Totally up to you and your desired flavor. Majority of companies already sell it combined. I don't know the ratio. But I'd suggest starting with a small amount and adding more if needed. 👍🏻

Hi kristin I found the videos thank your, my question is now. When putting back the tea in the urn, what temperature does the urn stay at ?. Is it still 70c ??
@BubbleTeaKristin
@BubbleTeaKristin 2 года назад
Hey again Amin, So, over time you can figure out how much tea you'll need to brew each morning. The insulated tea urns com in smaller sizes. The temper does stay pretty warm throughout the day, but I recom making smaller batches and adding more hot fresh tea throughout the day. This keeps in warmer. But always throw out old tea and thoroughly clean out at the end of the day. It won't stay super hot, no... This is why my in-store drink making technique is unique, because I bear in mine that the tea maybe not 70-80c anymore... The tea is used more for flavor, not temperature. (Whereas my at-home series uses hot fresh tea) hope that make sense and helps!!! 😇😇😇

Hello, thank you so much for taking your time to gives us all these important information. I originally lives in USA but I’m planing to move back to my country DR to open small bubble tea shop but I have noticed it that people here doesn’t know too much about Asian teas. I just have an small concern, back in February I rent a kiosk in my city for the carnaval season and I let few people try the Jasmine/green fruit tea and their were few people the said that jasmine tea has an perfume small and taste haha which their weren’t sure about liking it or not . The problem is I already shipped all my Jasmine green tea to my country 😢What do you think? Should i also add Green tea and ket them choose which base tea they want? I’m afraid they’re not going to like my fruit tea drink with Jasmine green tea base. Thank you!
@BubbleTeaKristin
@BubbleTeaKristin 2 месяца назад
Hello 🤗 Interesting. I am wondering... Did you let people try JUST the tea... Or let them drink a bubble tea (with fruits and/or syrup) added to it?! The reason is because as a stand alone product, it would be too intense probably... But mixed into a bubble tea, it really helps the product to taste better actually. Hopefully this makes sense. Lemme know the answer if you know what I mean above. 😇

can you brew the tea and keep in fridge instead of keep it hot? that way you don't dilute so much with the ice when it's added to your drink? if you were to keep in fridge, how long does it keep?
@BubbleTeaKristin
@BubbleTeaKristin 3 года назад
Hey Juan! Yes - as long as you know your syrups will be melting down enough when put into the liquid... then go for it! I have seen this technique done before. The syrup ratio will be different though, as your tea level might be different as well. But it's a great idea for Fruit Tea recipes. You may want to check your local Health & Safety for exact time frames. Some countries have different regulations for this sort of thing. Google in the USA says 5-days, but you'll want to make sure it's 100% air tight so it doesn't pick up any random flavors in the air. Hope that helps!

Thanks so much! If you're going to be drinking it alot, best to do an online search and find a large bag shipped directly from Taiwan, or even straight from their farm or factory... Via tea speciality websites, they should give you the level of Jasmine in the description... like "strong jasmine scent" or similar... (Stay away from artificial flavoring companies or really cheap teas)... do a little research and you'll be able to find a great option in no time 😍

Do you think there is a difference in brewing a large batch all at once or if you should steep the tea 3x with less water each steep? Another video on RU-vid shows a significant difference in the color of the tea from brewing one large batch or steeping 3 times with less water each steep.
@BubbleTeaKristin

That would be an interesting science experiment! 🤔 If you have the time, go for it and let us know!😎 We tried re-brewing tea again later, but it was never as strong as the first brew... Personally, for the cost of large leaf green tea for a bubble tea shop, it's probably not worth the hassle and worrying about it. But like I said if you really want to try it, go for it. I would look at the bigger picture though as a whole as opposed to spending time with brewing small batches of tea and how many times they brew with an adequate flavor, etc But like I Said, it definitely sounds like a fun experiment!

WOW! Unless you've got the biggest hot water boiler in the world, or are using 'on demand' water at a certain temperature... you'll need to make the tea in batches. I would recommend doubling my recipe if you can find containers big enough for it... Then do this 3 times to get 30 litres. Full Batch recipe: ❤️125 grams Jasmine Green Tea (USA = 4oz*) *note you're measuring the weight of the tea, not the volume. ❤️ 5 liters of 70 celsius Water (USA = 1.32 gallons) (158° Fahrenheit) Do this as a 'double batch' so you're working with 10 litres at a time... and do it three times. Good luck!!! ❤️

Good question. There's so many variables such as the tea, water, temps of fridge, local health and safety laws, etc... so it's difficult to give an exact answer. I would however recommend doing small batches, labelling them, and trying them all each day... this will give you a better idea of looks, smell and taste over a week. But rule of thumb for tea is: fresh is best. If you need to put it into the fridge though, then only up to a few days max without preservatives. Hope that helps.

Can you use jasmine green tea in bags and brew the same? Also how many bags for 5 liters?
@BubbleTeaKristin
@BubbleTeaKristin 2 года назад
Hello, Well... Yes and no. Usually if you are buying pre-bagged tea, you're not going to have the exact same type of flavor. Because pre-bagged tea is generally going to be gunpowder tea which is a little small bits of tea that's either purposely made small or it's so left over tea from the loose leaf larger tea. So that's the first part of the question. The second part of it is that you're going to want to do it in weight so you would do the exact same weight, but it would just be in tea bags. So I guess you would try to figure out how much the tea bags weigh and then put in that many. I would think you would be a larger amount, probably like a whole box full. So it's not necessarily very cost-effective and I think it might be easier to just buy some loose leaf tea online if you're going to be making a huge 5 litre batch. I hope this makes sense and I understood you correctly🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

Jasmine Green Tea is readily available from hundreds of bubble tea suppliers around the world... So I don't see the point in recommending one brand over the other as world-wide it wouldn't be helpful. 😇

Liked the video and info up until the prepping of the tea next to the trash can. Kind gross and upsetting to costumers like the bits of leaves in a cup.
