I don't like the green TGY either, but if you haven't tried it in the 6 years since this video came out, I very much recommend trying some more traditional, dark roasted TGY. Unfortunately most Anxi producers have switched to making greener teas because that makes more money in China, but the dark roast stuff remains popular in e.g. Hong Kong. It's very nice.
Dear tea lover being a tea lover myself from India I request you to kindly buy zebra brand teapot with infuser from Thailand they are sturdy easier to clean and value for money thanks
I just use Ti Guan Yen teabags and a automatic 12 cup coffee maker. I put in 2 - 3 teabags, and it makes a lot of tea. I let it steep continusly until I finish the pot.
I ordered some lapsang souchong online recently and was surprised at the overpowering pine smoke smell of the tea leaves. It has little to no tea smell to it. Is this considered normal for this type of tea? Thanks
Yes, loose leaf oolong tea can be brewed at least three times from the same leaves and often more. I find most good quality teas give me 4 solid steeps.
It depends on the quality of the leaves. I generally brew the leaves 4 or 5 times. On the last one, I let them steep for a long time. Well over 10 minutes.
It depends on the leaves and on the method of storage. I'd ask the vendor from whom you purchased the tea. That said, even past their supposed expiration date, you can still brew the leaves. I have often stored tea leaves for several years and still brewed them without issue. The taste may change a bit, but it won't hurt you (as long as there is no mold on the leaves, etc.). I'd go ahead and brew them and see how the tea tastes.
I find it better than lying. And I trust viewers understand that tastes differ. Tie Guan Yin is the most popular oolong tea, so obviously many people like it. Everyone should try some for themselves to see what they think.
DON'T BREATH ON THE MICROPHONE. Also, there are these net things that stop bursts of air blows on the microphone. What is it you say? I'm not the first one to suggest that?
From wikipedia: _"The tea is named after the Chinese Goddess of Mercy Guanyin, who is known in Japan as Kannon and in Korea as Guan-eum. Guanyin is a female embodiment of Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva."_
+Hef Tarc You are right, Guan Yin is male, but he often show up in a female form, because female form serves his role -- mercy better. Even a lot of Chinese people think Guan Yin is female, tho. because it is often portrayed as a female.
