This looks so delicious. And my God is she beautiful! She reminds me so much of Gong Li / Hatsumomo in “memoirs of a geisha”.

I find it interesting to see that you don't use a filter inside the "Western style " teapot. Though many do leave the leaves in, the way we're taught in tea salons etc is not to leave the leaves in the water the whole time, but to put them in the filter inside the teapot for a certain amount of minutes, say 5 minutes for ti guan yin, after which the filter with the leaves is removed. I have seen a few yixing teapots in London which come with removable clay filters inside; would you say that those are unnecessary? Would they be authentic yixings if they have filters? Many thanks for the videos!

Thank you for the video. Should the temperature be kept constant for each infusion?
@ZhenteaCa
@ZhenteaCa 2 года назад
Thank you. Not necessarily about the temperature. It all depends on the tea.

Most os the tea ware items are sold out on your website. Where can I get the 110ml glass vessel? What is the appropriate name for it?
@ZhenteaCa
@ZhenteaCa 5 месяцев назад
Sorry we're sold out of so much. We only carry small amounts of tea accessories and they come and go, more coming soon. I honestly don't know where to get these kinds of vessels here in North America. The glass vessel is called a gong dao bei or a sharing pot.

So basically you do not use "boiling" water, but water thats been boiled then cooled down about a hundred degrees? Boiling water is 212 degrees. I have been using a coffee brewer, washing once, then letting it set for 3 minutes the first cup, and 5 minutes the second. So I see I need to change my ways! I will try the last method, as I tend to drink it by the cup instead of a small teacup. I have been ordering my tea off amazon and am not sure about the quality. It does ship from Fujian. Some of the local Chinese girls gave me some they get from home and man was it good. Thank you for the video.

Hi there. We brew the tea with water that was just boiled so pretty close to 100°C or 212°F. Of course it will start cooling once it's off the heat. We've had to use coffee makers in hotels before and we now travel with a kettle (hotel rooms have tragically stopped providing them). The water from the coffee machines we've used tastes pretty bad, hopefully yours of better :) Thanks for watching and commenting and happy sipping!

@@ZhenteaCa Ah 100C! I skipped right over that. I understand now. I have no problem with water. By Coffee brewer I mean the glass cups with the plunger on top that separates the leaves from the water when you pour the water out into the cup. You put the leaves in, then the boiling water, then put the plunger thing on tp to let is set. I have done some searching tonight and find the grade I am buying is A, but there are better grades available. Thank you, I have subscribed.
@ZhenteaCa
@ZhenteaCa 5 лет назад
Oh yes, we use those sometimes too. A French press I think it's called. Those are great! The only 'trick' with those is to not squish the leaves when you does the plunger. Thanks for subscribing!

hi, If the tea is too long in the hot water, will it turn bitter? like green tea? . thank you
@ZhenteaCa
@ZhenteaCa 3 года назад
Great questions! Besides the steep time, the bitterness level of a tea also depends on the quality of the tea, leaf to water ratio when brewing. That's being said, green tea is not necessarily bitter and oolong tea can be bitter too. This also applies to other types of tea.

Why dont you just let the water sit for 20min the leaves will expand quicker , then u can just rinse 1 more time after, thats alot of rinsing
