I remember having to watch a child car safety video before taking our son home from the nicu. It did show us to tighten the strap and do the pinch test, but it didn't get into the why like you did. Also, they simply said to do the pinch test, but it didn't show the pinch test, so my husband was doing it weird for a couple of months until I showed him how to do it. I very much appreciate this short! ❤️
Hi Ive got rhe joi car seat and my baby is now 6 months..the head cushion bit is now tight for him but we just can't find any video how to remove it. Do you think it can be removed or do i now have to buy a new car seat? If so which one do you recommend that will last a while. Also his feet are touching the back seat and the car seat won't go any further back what do you recommend? Thankyou
Have you checked the user manual for the seat? Also, feet touching the back of the seat is never, ever a way that a rear-facing seat is outgrown. It does not matter at all. I'm not sure which seat you are referring to. Joie makes a lot of different seats so it is challenging to answer your question. It would be very surprising for a 6 month old to have outgrown any of their seats though. Once baby is bigger, take a look at some of Axkid's seats. We have a team member who is trained on European car seats if you would like to book a consult with her. safeintheseat.com/consults/
If you get into a crash and the baby is not restrained, they will very likely be killed. You cannot control getting into a crash. You could be hit by someone at any time. Better safe than sorry.
I've been told after tightening put both hands under their armpits and scoot them up and make sure buckle is across arm pit level. Car seats are uncomfortable but they are safe
Removal of padding varies by seat, you will have to check your manual. You move the harness to the next slot up when baby's shoulders are slightly above that slot.
