There are several components to creating an amazing design. One place I discovered that successfully combines these is the Aviary Magic Method (check it out on google) without a doubt the most helpful course that I've heard of. Check out this unbelievable resource.
Not certain about the points made but ,if anyone else wants to learn about bird houses designs try Panlarko Expert Aviary Planner (just google it ) ? Ive heard some super things about it and my partner got amazing results with it

Hi, the timber I use is Pine (45mm x 35mm), the type of paint I use is mainly used for garden fencing and is pet friendly and the wire mesh is 13mm x 13mm 19 gauge that I bought in the hardware store. Hope this helps.
Perfect! Nice and simple, easy and concise instructions, looks good too! The hubby and I are building ours today. This has given us the confidence we needed ;-) Thanks!
I am working on building this myself! I have been searching for months on how to bulid a large indoor bird cage for my 2 parrots. Love the water and feeding area. Thank you so much!!
That came out very nice! I love the color! Also the perches look like a pro job! You just inspired me to build one! I've been wanting to for a very long time! Thanks a lot!
Thank goodness I found this video! I need to make an enclosure for a peacock & your vid & my modifications of the size I pulled it off! Very grateful! Sláinte

Great video, nice clear and easy to follow instructions for a great aviary, and nice neat work too. I'm going to give it a go, but I'm not sure it'll look as good as yours! Thanks for posting this, Bobdrinksalot :o)
This is an inspiring video and much like I envision my future aviary. The only thing I would add is a half inch clearance on the bottom under which I could slide a floor pan out to clean it without having to get into the cage.
Awesome. We have been searching and searching for a cage big enough for our 13 cockatiels and he suggested maybe building one. We just might after seeing this. Looks Great !! I drink a lot too ...lol
I would love to see a follow up video with the birds safely in their home, with parrots though i would not paint the timber, stain and paint can be toxic if they do nibble as I've noticed the added perches do not seem to be protected with the mesh.
Thank you so much for sharing this on RU-vid. It is a really good video your a star. I purchased my timber from Wickes currently £12.60 for 8 pieces. I purchased my wire from Wickes but you can get 19 from Ebay for less, but it has a five year guarantee 6 meters by about 1 meter is about £22.00. In their brochure there is a 20% off timber.
hi my next doors asked me to make one ,saw you on here ,your very good well done exactly what and how im going to do exact size as well , not bothering to watch any others do the same thing , once again well done , ps see those screws see if they put some hair on the top you would get the bit into the screw first time ,
+NeshyWeshy 155 The timber i used is 2x2, the wire mesh is 1/2 inch, the screw's are 4 x70 mm, the staples are 12mm, i used a handsaw, cordless screwdriver and a hand stapler. Hope that helps.
It's completely up to yourself if you paint it or not, this is just something I have always done. I put nothing on the floor of the aviary, it's just standing on the concrete.
Hi there, first I'd like to say the aviary looks great! I am planning on building one myself. I wanted to know what type of lumber you used, what type of paint, and type of wire? Just want to make sure I'm using safe materials for my finches. Thanks!
Always remember to be extremely careful when building an aviary! You must do research! You can't just buy whatever wood or wire is cheapest because many types of wood are poisonous to birds and many types of metals are too. Also, if the metal is too thin or weak, chipping can occur causing other health problems. Please choose you materials wisely so you don't risk the safety of your birds!

Great vid. I'm trying to find the nerve to build my own indoor aviary for my finches. I am just curious, what do you use as flooring? how easy is it to clean? Thanks so much! awesome work!
Thanks, I don't put anything on the floor of the aviary, it's just standing on the concrete, I clean it once a week and take's me less than five minutes.
I'm thinking about making one of these for my cockatiel, but I've got limited space so I was thinking of doing it 2.5ft deep, 4ft long and 5ft high. I'm just not sure if that's a big enough space for her to be comfortable flying in. And we couldn't find a wire that would be good for her to climb around on, do you have any idea how big it needs to be for her to feel comfortable to fly in?
yoyoyoyoyoyygogkggo bikini I’m sure it would be possible, you would just have to make sure that it is very secure and there are no holes big enough for your bird to get through and possibly escape
I have a question about the door. How much space did you leave between the door and the door frame? Is 1 cm on each side enough? I don't want the door to get stuck or the budgies to try to squeeze out.
hello, please could you tell me the cost of this Avery? you have made, as shown in your video. I think its very good and practical for my own Avery, which i intend to have made. Also do you make this type of Avery for customers?
I would use a much thicker gauge wire and just weld it to the metal structure, although I have never made an aviary out of metal. The wire I use in this video would be to thin to do that.
Hi nice to meet you :) great video, and a very nice Aviary build well done, thank you for taking time to share this, very helpful...would of loved to see the birds in it too :) what wire do you recommend that is safe, as I keep reading how galvanised wire is toxic to birds.... I have two cockatiels and a Galah :) thanks again, have a nice day :) Magz :)
thank you for your reply :) hope you post video of your birds in this lovely Aviary.... :) please let me know if you do love to see it ....thanks again :)
