Half lap joints would make it even stronger, but your design should work fine with the panels sandwiching the framing. Also, with that style latch you need to drill a hole and thread some string/cordage through and tie it to the top of the latch to prevent getting locked in. I've typically seen people use a barrel latch on the top of the left side door to attach it to the top of the door frame for added stability.

How do you prevent rodents from getting in the shed through gaps in the door? I have a similar style door and with the changes in temperature the gaps expand or contract

I want to build a double door but I have one problem and hope you can help me. The left door the ground slops up and I need the door swing up so it won't drag on the cement. Any ideas? Thanks
