That's the most awesome thing ever! It's like the ones you buy, but 10 times the build quality and strength. I'd put some type of mat underneath it though, should make it more stable and stop it from damaging the floor. Also, are you going to post some plans for it? If I had a welder I'd have a go at building it!
That eastern-german building and this machinery is a proof that you will be a supervillan. I need to step up my game, I'm only a couple hundred kilometers away so running away is not an option!
John Grammaticus sure that it is eastern german? i've been thinking about where he is located since i started watching the videos.. but did't come to a conclusion yet.. not many hints in the videos sadly. Also i don't think he ever mentioned the region he lives in..
John Grammaticus haha true.. yeah was my first thought also, but some of the shots with the landscape and other houses doesn't quite fit the theme, also the complete lack of ddr tools and devices (at least i couldn't see any obvious) But on the other hand there are many areas in germany i never have been including most east german areas.. somehow my live always ends up happening between south and midwest germany :D (and there are a few corners where what is seen on his videos could also fit in) abandoned railroad (did they have siemens stuff in use in east germany?) Then, nobody knows if the railroad was near his place^^
John Grammaticus edit, we were way off.. he lives in "Nordrhein Westfalen" so no eastern germany.. But he lives in eastern nrw so we were at least right on the "eastern" part
This is what he WANTS us to think... The labshop must be hidden in eastern european forests even if his official place of residence is where it says it is.
Dude, I am just like you and I can't help myself. I am totally of the motto of why buy something new when you can build the same thing yourself for twice the price and half the quality. I do it all the time and never regret it.
Hi TPAI! in all your teardown videos i see many gorgeous tools you use (wera screwdrivers if I'm not mistaken) could you please make a video on the tools you use? I would find this very interesting and informative :)
Great work and great video! You clearly have a lot of time and thought in that machine. I want to eventually make a power rack with a lot features like that.
The variety of content on your channel continues to amaze me! Also, the timing of this is kinda funny... I've been recently trying to motivate myself to exercise as well, though all I have is a pull-up bar. Maybe it's time to start building!
This vid made me chuckle. Nice to see your more humorous side. Very cool exercise machine, by the way. Did you study commercial ones for the design, or was it completely from your mind?
Akefay Amenay I really came up with it from scratch. I designed it on a piece of paper. My first idea was to make a tower that would hold a pull up bar, that could be used for different variations of pull ups. Then I realized I could also add dip-bars and a cable system. I'm sure that there are commercial machines that use similar methods to achieve similar results though.
Reminds me of a gym I used to go to, all of the equipment was home made from mostly scrap metal. It even had a set of big ass break discs from a truck as weights.
Nicely done! For those looking for something easy to build/install, try out some Olympic rings! Cheap, easy to install and lots of exercise options with them too!
Nice job bruh.. one of the best I've ever see it. I want to know what is the angle for the rest plate for feet, it forms a rectangle triangle of 70°-20° ? Thanks bud.
awesome job, this is not a do it yourself buddy. your the only one that can do this. i dont see any possible way im going to find those parts and do it myself. nonetheless excellent job that looks really sturdy i wish i could build something like that for my house. you are very skilled
Pull the ropes down out of the corner of the wall and ceiling and you can make your own battle ropes. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-h2YUO4_O4x8.htmlm18s
OK, stop this now ! Germans are not supposed to have a sense of humour, whole world is gone flipping mad, other than that disconcertion, nice piece of engineering.
What about such devices combined with generating electric power? Adding a battery to a generator would be funny. With rising energy prices, it could be a better alternative to solar panels. And to think further, you could let other people use that device as well, spending you the POWER.
Its exercise, not excercise. Lots of native English speakers cant spell that properly either.:) Obviously if you dont correct this mistake, the internet will blow up. Great video.
Everyone I listen to, for the rest of my life, should preferably speak German as their primary language, and English as their secondary language... that is all. Keep it up.
Nicely and pretty cleverly done exercise machine, nicely done video, good sense of humour. It was fun to watch. The change of the video's topic (at least it was a bit different than your normal videos) worked out pretty cool. Greetings from Poland.
Heilman Hackatronics I can't find the original plans anymore, but I could make new ones if some people are interested in copying this machine. I've been working on a homepage for some time. That would be the place where I would upload such plans. But at the moment I can't find the time to finish that. I hope it can all be done in the near future.
German engineering, just spot on.Great machine.Patent the design and approach a big name bb company with it..I'd buy one.Hope you are as successful as you deserve to be.
I can't stop laughing. Nice videos. The machine is pure genius. For me - some thick rubber pads for the floor and a thousand dead lifts a week. A shrug stand and you are done. It is all about the core strength. Do everything else on a mountain bike. It must be nice to be young. I can at lease remember. Thanks.
Superb bro... I really need this.. But how can I arrange this... I disabled person.. Both legs r not work. But I want fit remaining body... Is anybody help me to fit my body...?
Man, your whole had me smiling and laughing. I love the spirit of your video and effort. Thank you! And yes, “twice the price and half the quality...” That’s my attitude too!
Do have blueprints for this machine?? Please i wan to have this in my room, i have some metal tubes and pulley in my home and its a waste if ill just dump it. Please hope you'll reply :(((
never, in the 7 plus mins. of the video I saw him building shit, what I saw was him assembling the exercise machine, but really cool outro singing survivor's song.
Im late to the party but could you modify the 2nd cable with a plate that can be moved up and down the middle steel arm, like in most commercial equipment so that you can perform lateral pull downs. Pull out a pin slide it down the arm allow the pin to reinsert itself and perform dumbell curls ?
a funny thing about a lot of people who prepare for the worst is that they can't even climb a few flights of stairs without getting tired, maintaining your own body is just as important as maintaining tools or equipment
I recently made myself a cable machine that can do pulldowns and rows but I actually made it so that it can be tightened up against the ceiling to provide stability. So long as the plate that touches the ceiling is large enough and not just a single point, the machine is quite safe and doesn’t move at all.
This is brilliant, I will definetly made one when I move in with my GF, my actual bench (+pulley) is way too big and it's one of the smallest, she will freak out quickly... Your design is great and the variety of exercises is great ! But it seems a little unstable, will it support a 70kg lat pulldown for example ? Can you please make the actual plans of it ? I guess I can figure it out a design myself but plans from right-brained persons are always better ! The corner placement is real genius, and I mean it, it permit great variety of exercice and require less space. But it miss something to work the legs, a two tube squat module (slightly inclined, with foot and reinforced with another straight tube that'd go from foot to the actual tube acting as a bracket), multiples bars rest could be added, with bigger tubes screwed in both arm and foot of the machine, and bit smaller tubes weld/screwed to the squat module. By inserting the smaller tubes inside the bigger tubes (connecting the squat module to the machine) you can make it larger or smaller by sliding it and with multiples matching holes in both tubes make them hold with a simple nut and bolt. It would be super strong, and super stable. It could be used for bench press as well and with a longer tube weld to the squat module (and to it "front foot" forming an angle) you can even make a bench press safety or shrugs bar holder ! BTW you should weld every nut in place and use bolt-butterfly (wing-bolt ?) for module that need to be frequently changed it would be more flexible to change position while doing exercises without any tools.
Is this a copy of an already existent machine? If not, How many design iterations were necessary until it could perform all these things. Building something like that does really make sense. Because after you've been charged an arm and a dick, what is the point of exercising?
***** It is not a copy of an existing design. I came up with everything myself. But I'm still quiet sure that a lot of my ideas can be found in existing machines. It was well planned and most of it worked right away. No need for iterations.
The Post Apocalyptic Inventor But need to have gotten the angles and distances for pushing yourself up ect. from somewhere. With the stuff were you use your own body weight the geometry is really crucial. I really wouldn't know were to even start without measuring what angles they use on professional machines. So if you did this without any design iterations just on guessing/approximating everything right, that is actually quite impressive.
I like the design, the variety of exercises and space saving features of your gym. I wouldn't be surprised if we see something like this on the high street soon if you've any subscribers that work in the fitness industry - make sure you negotiate a fair commission!
Wow, you're lucky for having a bench at home. I'd overtrain as hell if I had something like that. Btw love dips too, have been my fav exercise for about a year.
