The T.33 is the second all-new supercar from Gordon Murray Automotive. The three-seater £2.4m T.50 fan car remains the ultimate expression of technology and speed, while this two-seater T33 is something a bit more laid-back and conventional. It has the same incredible Cosworth naturally aspirated V12 as the T.50 with 607bhp, a screaming 11,100rpm rev limit and the choice of six-speed manual or a six-speed paddle shift gearboxes. Join Jack Rix as he gets a full tour of the T.33 and all the secrets behind it from Gordon Murray himself.

@@Joshua-ev9uw Yeah, most of the lines don't end at a sharp cut off and the rear is especially beautiful. The only thing that's not quite working for me is the almond shape lights. And he simply says this is just money stunt, from the amount of cars that are supposed to be made, to the fact that this weak by modern standards engine will not have parts interchangable with in supposedly the same engine in brother model. @SparrowNoblePoland 2 года назад
@@endjfcar I know, and I'd still say it's ramming open doors. Rather a stunt than anything practical. Figures might be impressive for a naturally aspirated engine of that size, but the whole concept doesn't make any sense. Turbocharged engine could make several times more horsepower at the same capacity, or be smaller and lighter and still make more HP, with similar torque development through rpm range. It would have also been more versatile, since turbocharged cars can use dramatically different maps depending on chosen boost. With turbocharge he could have made an engine that develops 200BHP in city and is very fuel efficient, and develops 2000 BHP at the highest map.

I have to say, when I was a bit younger, I thought more of laptimes and performance. But the truth is, a lot of that is due to tires and with laptimes dropping every few years, cars that are only about laptimes will lose most of it's appeal. While cars like the Carrera GT that were surprisingly quickly surpassed still have an aura around them for what they are not just numbers. And therefore I see cars like the T.33 different nowadays.

This is a work of art, and I am so glad it exists. Love the companies ideals especially, except limited production. How does making as few people as possible able to enjoy it make it more valuable? I'm not buthurt that I can't ever have one, higher production wouldn't change that for me. But I would want as many people as possible to experience that. Especially if I spent all that time in design and engineering, and poured out my soul into the car.

Works of art in the traditional sense, are usually a production run of one. This car is perhaps most like a limited edition print, with the declared 100 copies, numbered and signed by the artist. This finite number justifies and protects the value, ensuring these objects are attractive to GM's clients, not least because of their exclusivity. Thus, still out of reach for us commoners! Aesthetically I am much more taken with this than T50, especially the rear end. What do you think?

Yamaha had a Sports car concept that had similar shapes to this car, come to find out Gordon Murray actually helped with it. Lol

You can’t deny the engineering excellence of the man and his company, but the looking down your nose at other designers and brands is wearing a bit thin.

Yep. For Gordon, he is the greatest designer of all time. Never mind that his reputation is built on credit he has stolen from others.

Gordon has managed to make a car that everyone wants… N/A, V12, Manual, light supercar. Brilliant! However, I can’t help but feel he wastes it by making it another overpriced hypercar that no normal person will ever see. Too often do we see this unobtainium and frankly it’s getting boring… every other week there’s a new hypercar for millions just to sit in a garage. Additionally I genuinely don’t think this looks great. Even when you take into account the 60s design it looks bland. Fair play he’s designed what he wants but christ it’s boring

Agree with everything you say, I wish he'd turn his hand to something like an Alpine A110

the F1 was just as bland as this, and that is worth 20 million now. and some ppl like clean cars not cluttered with spoilers and ducts everywhere, its not a track car.

No. That front end is simply uninspired. The rear is beautiful, especially the exhaust pipes. There is no defining feature of that front fascia.

The styling is ugly!!! The engine is on a different level. I would buy just the motor and swap it in a McLaren 760 LT.
