A really nice mod is to make an engine clamp bar. Using 1" x .5" x 6" long bar stock, drill and tap your holes on the adjusting slot centers. Then place the bar beneath the engine mounting plate and pass your bolts thru the engine, the plate and thread into the bar stock. That way, the engine can be moved using only one wrench.
Very good discrimination of parts and setting everything up!!! Your explanation was very helpful. I’m clearing a spot in the garage for my build of your “Vintage Kart”!!
I built a Zip 250 superkart out of a box of parts once. 4 whell hydraulic dusc brakes. Two master cylinders full body work and a water cooled 250 Yamaha twin. I could build that fun kart your doing in a coma!
I'm about to build my first drift trike and I was looking at the 6" live axle kit on your site. I don't see the spacers that you used in this video between the wheels and bearings in the kit, it just comes with lock collars. Are the spacers necessary or would the lock collars be sufficient to hold the wheels in place?
me and my friends want to build a go-kart from the ground up, would a kit like this one (to make a roller frame) really be worth the money for someone like me or should I either try and build the frame or find a used one? Thanks!
I really think finding an old one is always better. I'm stuck for axles because nothing is on sale so i have to build it manually 😭. Since I can't weld this is gonna be such a hard challenge. (I'm using and mixing multiple tutorials). Alright. Hope this helped you!
