In this video we show you how to build a grape vine trellis that will last for years to come. We did our own research and landed on this simple, cheap and beautiful design. Enjoy the build!

A little about us:
In September 2015, our hearts were hijacked with the dream of living on a large farm, with community, growing food, caring for animals and loving on children in need of care and healing. It was a God moment, where our dreams collided with His dreams… a dream so big we could never do it in our own strength and wisdom. Since then, we have been on a journey to see that dream become a reality. This channel documents that journey.

Hello again! This is my year! I have soooo many "baby grapes!" Grow Grow Grow! Anyone reading this.... This is by far the easiest/cheapest trellis you can build. I give this video A+

I love ya'll. You have no idea how much this reminds me of what I saw growing up as a child to a woman. My grandfather Luther Lee Snyder built a large grape vine trellis' on his land where I was raised and we his grandchildren, my mom and her siblings and my grandmother picked every summer and fall and they made grape jelly, juice and wine for our family. Thanks for triggering beautiful memories. May God give you a bountiful harvest of grapes every year. I could smell the grapes boiling slowly on the stove and the Mason jars out. 🤗🤗🤗

Very nice and well done. Exactly what I am presently erecting on a smaller scale (2 posts with 7 foot U-Posts in between 4 grapevines in our backyard except an 8 foot separation between vines. I got my gauge 9 wire and the same wire clamps and I have already dug 2 feet for one post hole. Needs another 6 inches. I got clayish soil with small rocks galore. No need for quikcrete. Added a lot of peatmoss and perlite to the soil plus DIY compost after tilling the soil and removing as much of the rocks as possible.

I just built my grape trellis the other day. It is different but I am confident it will work well, too. You might want a second wire or something a foot or so below that one, too. It gives the vine a little more to cling to.

Goshen you don't need a "T" post (9:25) to guide your vine, all you need is a length of jute rope that you tie to the base of the vine and up to the wire. In few years the jute deteriorates and the vine trunk becomes self supporting.

Is there any reason why you are using 9 gage wire? I am sure it is more expensive as opposed to 12.5 gage wire which is the standard in the industry here in Napa California…

Great video. I purchased the items that you posted in the about section. I can't get the 9 gauge wire through the wire vice. It forces the spring out of the wire. Do you have any advice? Did you file the end of the wire? Thanks in advance.

Unless your trying to have a narrow hole, your better off just using a regular shovel to dig your holes, those two handle digger are heavy, slow and just a pain in the ass.

I did mine starting with a shovel until I hit the clay level and just needed a few more inches, then switched to the post digger

Couldn't you put the post in at a slight angle away from each other so that when they are tensioned they are closer to plum? Or is that a horrible idea?
