A pool tile cleaning rig consists of a few items. Making sure you have the right items on your rig will mean the difference between a job well done and slop.
The equipment needed
Equipment that you get for your tile rig should not be taken lightly. The main tool you want to focus on will be the air compressor. Go big or go home. you want to make sure that the size of your compressor is large enough, in CFMS, to keep up with your work load. If your compressor is too small you will have to wait for it to keep up. So when you want to put a rig together make sure you put some money into getting the larges compressor you can.
The air drier is a very important part of your rig. When are is compressed and released it creates moister. Having an air dryer on your set up will prevent the media from clumping up and slowing you down. The beads are re usable in certain air driers and quality is key when buying a air drier.
The media hopper
The hopper holds the media that you will be using to shoot your tile or surface. It goes into the hopper tank which will be under pressure. At the bottom of the hopper you will have a ball valve allowing the amount of media that you want out.
Hoses
There are three hoses that you will need when putting together a tile cleaning rig. The first hose is your reel hose. This hose connects the compressor to the air dryer. This will be your longest hose. Needing to go from the front of the house to the back where the pool is, you will need a lot of hose. The second how will connect the air drier to the hopper. This typically does not have to be more than five feet. And the last hose that you will need is the hose that goes from the hopper to your shooting nozzle. It is a good idea to make this hose as long as you can as well. It will prevent you from having to re stage your work area.
Note to take
When setting up your tile cleaning rig you need to make sure that pool tile cleaning is a job you want to get into. this is going to require a lot of effort and learning. There are many different types of tiles that will require different types of media. It is easy to do this job worng. If this is not something you want to dive into head first, I suggest looking at something differnt to get involved with.
However this is a very good pool service niche to get into. It pays well and it is a harder service to break into meaning not every pool guy or gal out there will provide this.
Good Luck!

Great video, very informative. I was looking around to see if there is a fan nozzle for blasting? I have seen the larger ones for the large systems like 285cfm machines but wondering if they make fan nozzles for the system like what you have?

I just got my cleaning rig set up and it’s going well. I appreciate all your good advice. I have one question I’ve got a glass tile job coming up in two weeks, and I was hearing allot of guys still use #10 glass beads to to blast the tile but at a lower pressure. What are your thoughts on that.

Nice video. I agree with you that when I was trying to start my tile cleaning business information wasn't easy to come by. What air dryer do you have? How do you like it's performance? I am currently looking for a new one that performs well before the heat of summer arrives.

What hose would you recommend for blasting? Any particular brands? Or does it depend on the hopper?
