I totally empathize with your 'womble' approach to DIY. RE-USE IS BETTER THAN RECYCLE!! A free raised bed surround has to be a winner. The pallet wood should give 4-7 years life, especially as you've treated it. Not so good for brassicas which have that habit of spreading and overgrowing their space but for onions and carrots, leeks spring onions or beets, salads etc they should be a boon. I don't envy you doing hand sawing in this extreme hot weather!! My beds were bigger and I needed more strength and more longevity and I used redundant scaffold planks. Same vision. Job well done, bro'. Perfect for the smaller garden or for specialist crops. all the best as always - Paul

@@GardeningforBeginners I direct-sown some of the new seeds I bought from sutton-seeds which arrived via second-post on thursday, Tom-Thumb Lettuce Ailsa-Craig Onions White-Lisbon Onions radish & Sparkler-3 Radish at the allotment yesterday... I underestimated the size patch I wanted to sow them all the others in as-well, thus the need to start getting another patch ready to sow sow the other seeds in... I already have runner-beans, carrots, pak-choi, sage, chard, sweet-peas, pea-shoots, dwarf-french beans growing outside my living-room window most are in the raised beds I mentioned earlier... I have basil, tarigon & coriander growing on the kitchen windowsill...
