There are a lot of good terrain youtubers, but you and Mel definitely take the crown. Always informative quality content. You helped me improve my techniques quite a bit. Hi Luke, thanks for the great videos you've been putting out. A quick question on your new sculptamold recipe.. any reason for the change of paper pulp to insulation? Was it just quicker due to not having to make and wait for the pulp to dry, or do you find the cellulose insulation just works better?
Usually everyone does, but modular terrain means you have to sacrifice looks since you can't add uneven texture to your board which makes it look simplistic and flat, great if you just want a board that works as a playing field, but if you want to be creative and make an awesome looking impersive battlefield then you can't really have modular pieces. one way to get around that tho is to make the board itself into modular grids for some rearranging :)
@@thomashivik634 That's what I'm doing, building a killteam board that is broken down into 6 panels that can be moved and rotated to mix up the battlefield layout.
hi Luke followed your last recipe to make sculpty mold and it works well if a bit lumpy but most prob my fault not mixing right, question though where do you get your Cellulose Insulation from tried to get some but they wanted silly money for delivery
The board isn't finished, and my phone screen is you know... like 3x4, but it looks like you have a bunch of buildings going to the board edge. Are you house ruling the kill team rules, or will players have to walk all the way around? Just curious.
on the subject of caulk and grab adhesives: have you tried sticks like shit? would cellulose cat litter work in place of the insulation with the sculptamould?
How would one go about making that plaster paste? I am australian based and dont really want to fork out all that money for international trade, What are some alternatives?
You may not believe in patreon, but patreon believes in you! :P More seriously, why don't you believe in it? The way I see it, you're teaching an art class. Nothing wrong with people voluntarily rewarding you for that as they see fit.
Point is that I don't see it as a handout in any way. You're providing a service. The thing people get is knowledge. I'm not suggesting that a paywall is a good idea, but don't sell yourself short buddy.
