really wish the team could figure out how to make rooms in attics more functional, if not for the sims 4, at least in ts5 lovely build tho, gonna use this in one of my houses
Actually agreed, i’ve been sleeping in an atic for 6 years before we moved to our house wishing none rat falls down while i was sleeping (and that sadly happened when I was 7 years old, I couldn’t even sleep there for almost 2 weeks 😂) Please give build mode the love he/she deserves
Imagine if we actually had attics that came with that Dust Buster kit (idk what it's called) and you'd have those pull-down ladders to get up... BUT YOU COULD POTENTIALLY DIE FROM IT
Jose Escobedo I hate that about it. The Murphy bed made me abandon a save I had for a longgg time because the mother died from the bed and I was in shock brought her back to life but it was never the same
Same! I love building A-frames but have the same problem, I wanna build in the angled sides. You can sort of build a playable attic room by building angled roofs on 4 sides, building a room with half walls, and then using the half wall roof hack to drag over a roof, but it's a bit of work and you'll probably need moveobjects, but it's worked for me.
Here’s a tip, page up, and put another small roof piece to cover it up on top. On that on you can pull the eves down so it count as the floor above and you can still see.
Has anyone else noticed that doing roofs like this or any sort of variation where the walls aren't dragged over with the roof... that when it rains there are puddles in your house? I swear it has only been in the last year, but even with putting down some sorts tile below the roof I get puddles. It annoys me when someone builds something amazing, but it rains.
@@taliexo I'm glad I'm not alone. I swear I was going crazy. Both houses I had dogs and I was like 👀 I know these babies are potty trained so what's going on. I never find anyone that talks about it though.
Dude I've been trying to do this since forever!!! My room when I was younger was built like this and so everytime I try to recreate it, I can't. Ty for this🌟🌟
You actually can. I'm on ps4: up & down go through the levels, left shows the roof up & down. While the roof is down showing the floor above your top floor, build a small room in the center within your roof. And there's your attic.
Wow that’s brand new! I’m so bad with roofs and I still build them like it’s 2014 (where you couldn’t see the roof but it would trap your sims upstairs) because build mode can and will do just random things at times 😂😅
I love these small tips and tricks shorts. Im an ok builder so i end up watching vids where ive learned 90% of the tips already to glean one or two new ones. This is more fun
You could make another smaller roof on the floor (grid) above it! Make the lower roof match with the (preferably shortest) wall height so you can place an other roof on the upper level to match where the lower roof would go. Now you drag the upper roof sides over the roof below it. In live mode you can see everything with the walls up on (let's say) the second floor, while the 3th floor is only the upper part of the roof. So basically everything you did except dragging the roof over! Hope this helps 😊 Oh and btw, if you place a floor under the roof on the 3th floor, you could place a hanging lamp in the attic. Otherwise it would float.
i’m confused i didn’t think you had to do anything special to use the inside of the roof.. i’ve always just.. put the roof on and put stairs or a ladder and.. used it?
Usually I go the other direction. I convert attics into livable spaces. I'm most proud of the Factory One in Windenburg, making the attic into an Airbnb like space with 2 bathrooms, a kitchenette, and beds for 4. 2 beautiful plant rooms.
I wish they would let us color windows from both sides of the walls like sometimes I want my outside windowpanes to match the exterior of my house and the windowpane inside to match my walls but idk
Hmm I just made a long room along the length of the house in the center and then placed one gable roof through it (if it's an enclosed 4 walled room the roofs go around it & automatically conform). I raised the roof till the corners were not sticking out and voila, you can also place windows on the exterior walls, no need for double windows or trying to blend and match up multiple roof heights. Just a room and 1 roof. Yep.
Another way is to put the roof in sections. Build a room, half gabled roof on two sides of the room, gabled roof on top, adjust height of the roofs to make them flush, and boom! Attic room
This remind me of my niece where she didn't even put a roof for her house in the Sims 3 😂 just a room without a roof and no wall too for the second floor 😂 it my first time saw something like that 😂
square literally almost does everything, even when you want to place flooring, press square and now instead of squares your flooring will be triangle, that way you can customize your flooring by combining different floors.
This is exactly what I've been looking for! I'm trying to build my house, but my bedroom takes up the entire loft and all of my years of building and playing I could never figure out how to make it work.
am I the only one who just plays the sims with the goal of maxing the career level 😩 ive never really cared about building but these videos are interesting 😂
