How to build an inexpensive box blind! Built this shooting house in just a few hours! Getting ready for deer season here in south Alabama! Preciate y’all!
Damn Jeff you do more by yourself than most people will do with two . You remind me of my oldest brother . I admired him more for what he did by his self than any body I have ever known . Nothing kept him from getting the job done . Great work . Glad to see your arm has healed and your back at it .
This is my first blind of any kind ru-vid.comUgkxLQGtOO9dXIsNktEeycGoIT6jtJJNTScA so nothing to compare it to. After I receive it, I set it up and left it outside at home for a couple of months to let it start smelling more like outside than human. So far I've been very happy with it. Very roomy - I hunt alone but could easily fit another person comfortably. Put one bolt through the shoot-through mesh, and works as advertised. I've ordered another one, so this noob is totally satisfied. One caveat - the included stakes are pretty useless; you'll want to order something more substantial. I haven't had it long enough to rate durability, but zero issues so far.
Great build Jeff, I think with a few bench seats and a fold up table that's attached at the bottom of the window so you'll have a steady shooting platform would be a big help. I'd even go as far as to build a few corner shelves for food and some hooks to hang things on. Great location, and camo.
Thanks for the video, It's always good to see another home built deer blind design. Our opening day rifle season in MN is 2 weeks away and the temps lately have been 30s for highs and 10s for lows so it looks like a tough season ahead. And the timber wolves ( protected ) have been working the local Deer pretty hard. Always good to see Deer hunting in a different part of the country. Good Luck!
I built a nice 4'x4' tree stand w/ railing all around to attach military camo netting. Used it one season and then the damn tree fell down. 4'x4' floor is plenty roomy for 2 people but your window is a little small for more than just you. Nice light weight roof you were able hoist up on your own. Job well done.
Really great job Jeff. Two suggestions. One: Make the cross bracing on opposite sides go opposite directions or they’re basically doing no good. Two: Add blue spray paint to your camo. It’ll make it disappear. What a great hunting spot!!
I need to start taking better care of myself at 31 to be half the man he is in q10 yrs. awesome dad, jack of all trade and insane outdoorsman!! I want some of his jerky!!
So much simpler and easier to build than the HEAVY ones we used to build that had interior walls and framing with 2x4 studs built like a house. It would take at least a couple of guys to build ours. I like your simple design.
I tell ya one thing Jeff you are for sure a beast when it come to building and making stuff by yourself. You did more on this in one day than two or 3 Ok workers would get done. Hats off to you bud. Great job and looks good to. Hope y'all do good out of it. Thanks stay safe. God bless y'all.. Preciate yall
Perfect and Simple box stand! Great build Jeff! I don't think I'd be all that concerned about making the box air (scent) tight. I mean once you open the window to take a shot... the box is gonna breathe.
That darn dewalt saw rite there is just down rite awesome. Weighs nothing, tons of power, battery goes all day cut whatever you want, love it. 3/12 pitch on that bad boy. So jealous of your old Yota! Had one for 15 years. Thanks for the video, really nice blind, thought the camo job looked great. You have a good weekend yourself sir. Thanks for the video.
Good quick job Jeff ! Don’t worry, if ya wanna make better, y’all can add or change whatever you need to later. A window, brush on top, more paint or bracing, heater, frig, Lazy Boy chairs, radio 😁🤣
Really cool Idea how you built the floor around the posts... Thanks for the idea Jeff... We are Building another Couple of more Stands at My Family's Place Here In Texas..... I Grab Them Limbs and Spray Over em as a Template.. It gives the same pattern as the trees around you and does a Great job Blending it in... Makes it look Like a Pro Camo Job Lol
