Im about to attempt to change trans casing is it true diff gear screws should face right to reduce risk of backing out as i noticed yours faced left does it maje any difference really
Nice video. I had to watch tl see of the irc diff fit in the turtle racing case. I build mine awhile back and no matter what I did I could not get the irc diff to fit in the turtle racing case. The diff was just a little to wide to fit properly in the case. I've heard some people have this same issue and some don't. So I'm wondering if the cases are machined differently or the irc diff is smaller.
Thanks for watching I had no issues at all with irc diff the irc diff comes with shims you can use or not use depending on fitment yeah it's possible some diff case are not machined properly it does happen even the diff cups could be machined wrong. However also could be human error where the bushes were not compressed all the way in. It's a hard one but if there's an issue there's always a solution. 😁
@@evolverc1822 yea I had no issues with the diff itself just 2 different turtle case were not wide enough and couldn't get it to fit. I talked to Steve at ddm and he's heard of this as well. I just use the rcmax Trans case now with no issues. I never had good luck with turtle parts lol
Love the build man, I haven't rebuilt for 7 years and coming back into it. Already a few k down and that's without the engine. Thinking of the new taylor 46.
9:57 is it normal that this cap on the other side of the layshaft rotates when its together ? .. mine did that, shortly before breaking the second run i installed it, lol (well mine has a cap there at least)
Yeah pretty sure I've seen some that spin on idol and some that don't. Just be the vibration. As long as you don't see any grease coming out then it's fine. Cheers
@@evolverc1822 another question.. 😅 are the layshafts all the same? i mean does the stock layshaft from the original diff fit into the cnc diff, it should be right?

I think the layshaft is the culprit .. its slightly wobbeling, my baja started "eating" disc brakes, they jam so hard that they bend :/ took this thing apart at least 30 times and ruined 2 pairs of disc brakes the last 2 days, im out of ideas if its not that 😅.. cheers!
Does the stock axles fit the bigger cups at time 2:08 I have the Rovan max 5t with the extended a-arms and not sure if I need to replace the cups for the bigger ones.
@@evolverc1822 .... You are right about needing irc axles for bigger cups but the Rovan max 5t car has LONGER A-ARMS AND LONGER 10MM SHOCKS than other Baja's . Because of the longer a-arms I was wondering if the alum case would except the smaller stock cups ? Rovan changed the name from Max 5T to EXT 5T , just to let you know.
