Hello everyone, my name is Duong.
I am 32 years old.
I live in a poor mountainous area of Vietnam.
From a young age, I had to work hard to help my parents.
Difficult life is always around, I work and learn everything from my grandparents and the old people in the village.
Gradually, I mastered the skills.
5 years ago, I decided to live the challenge.
Determined to learn about the primitive way of life, I chose to live in the wilderness, alone.
Where there's no technology and forcing yourself to pass, it feels great!

A general tip for everybody: When nailing near the END of a piece of wood, that wood often splits. This can be avoided as follows: First hold the nail upside-down & hammer the point a little flatter. THEN drive the nail the normal way into the wood. The blunted point will CRUSH the wood-fibres (creating a hole in the wood) instead of SPLITTING the wood. One can get the same result by DRILLING a hole in the wood, but that requires an extra tool. The somewhat flattened nail-point acts as its own drill. (I was happy to see that your forged nails already have this type of blunt point.)

Good luck with your chickens- remember to always wash your hands with soap if you have been in areas where there is poultry, or even in the market in town. It wouldn't hurt to disinfect your shoes too before walking around the farm.

I gather it is the lime you made from "fired" limestone prior to grinding for home made cement - very useful and effective for a variety of uses/applications. and reduced adverse properties that may be found in some highly processed commercial options

листы фанеры нельзя в притык прибивать друг к другу, нужно оставлять технологический зазор в 0.5,сантиметров. дерево расширяется при повышеной влажности, даже та фанера что влагостойкая, со временем край одной фанеры будет залазить на край другой

Personally I like just the framework it would be nice with a nice floor and just full length windows set in a black frame you would have such a beautiful view to wake upto,I love it and I’m only yet at the outer frame stage.

Not a problem Eugene Bennett 5800... Simpson Hardware makes hurricane straps that can be anchored to those brick-and-mortar piers with concrete anchor bolts. Someone only needs to tell them about the hardware. But otherwise, I think they are doing outstanding work. I don't know many men that can do what this amazing lady has done. Beautiful location for this house.

To think that in much of the modern world such construction as shown here requires a CRANE plus at least 6 people! With the total work being completed in about the same time as by ONLY the 3 people here! With close to the SAME level of precision & quality! Compliments? When I was little, lime like that was often used to disinfect around farms and barns. It was also mixed with water and used to paint the boards. The old farmers would call it 'whitewash'.

I suggest, using some dish soap on the wood to help slide the joints together while fitting. it will wash off after a while, but will make putting the joints together faster, as it acts as a lub.

Advice for you, Duong? Oh yes!! CONTINUE with the method that you are using. The 1 that COMBINES the use of primitive skills (& tools) with modern tools (& skills), applying each where most appropriate & useful. This teaches us viewers much about the why & when & where each works better for the COMPLETED project. Example 1: Using the chain saw to remove much of the wood where chiselling will be needed makes the chiselling part easier & less tiring. A hand saw is SO TIRING! Example 2: Using a top plate (the long 5x10cm piece on top of the uphill row of posts) removes the need for much chiselling & test-fitting, AND provides easy support for the plywood sheets. (My heart ached when I saw you use factory nails there instead of nails that you forged yourself😩)🤓 I am NOT surprised that PRIMITIVE skills & tools are actually BETTER at increased precision than the AVERAGE way of using modern TOOLS.

Duong, I think your marriage is perfect for you. You see yourself, you see your wife, you see your differences and you find a way to be together and still be different. It works for you. I have never seen a house framed in this way! it is nice to know that framing comes in all shapes and sizes. I love that you are using joint and tenon type of framing because it is the type that was used to build castles in Europe. I believe the blend of classic construction with modern convenience for protection of the sun, especially in your country, is an excellent way. Loved this vid!
