DUDE!!!!!! YOU ARE AN EXCELLENT TEACHER!!!!!! TRUE....it takes the listener to have a genuine interest, but don't think your vid is not watched until the end!!!!
This video was not boring. I have tried to watch other instructional videos where the presenter is just super wordy, or gets hung up on a specific thing, or goes off on a tangent. What you did was a clear, concise, instructional video. Now if I could just quit getting sidetracked watching your content and actually figure out how to custom build the housing.
The people who watch this already love electronics! I believe we all watched it until the end. Thanks for taking time to put courses out for us like this!!!!!
Fantastic, very few people are confident enough to share your knowledge. I have been a software engineer, and an electromechanical engineer. I have never shied from sharing my knowledge. People that do the same as me always ask me why I share.. my answer... I'm going to continue hands on and always will learn new stuff. The customer I taught will only know what I taught them. If they call me on the phone and ask me questions I will help them. How the hell we learn.. by networking... Kudos... this will pay you back in spades and people will respect you... BTW I earned my IBM programming certificate in 1969 as a senior in HS, my electromechanical in 1971. I wil be 69 years old in May. I still work in my garage working on computers Nd special projects... and I never stop learning... now I know how to put in sequential lights on my 2017 Silverado. Again..many thanks..
Dude, you are so amazing! Thank you for all your selfless effort and thinking about other people and actually wanting to spare the grief rather than think that everyone else needs to suffer like you did. I'm totally psyched to get into this and I will definitely be checking out your online course and doing what I can to help you improve your material. YOU'RE THE SHIT, BRO!!!!
Chris, Your experience and knowledge are impressive. You have proven through these videos that paying you what you are worth is 100% in my best interest both for my time, and your quality of work. You are a master of your trade. Sold again....
So far every time he says he's going to tell us where to get these LED's and boards with a link in the description he doesn't, but I'm sure it's found on Alibaba or something, I've got some different ideas ontop of this to possibly make it better but more interested in the controller
This is the first of your videos I have watched, and I am absolutely amazed with your abilities, knowledge and experience. I appreciate the information you shared, and look forward to supporting you in any way I can!
I was searching for ways to wire LED light strips to add accent lights to some wall decor and came up to your channel. Now instead of just a plane strips I’m thinking of how to make something a little more complex. This is some interesting stuff. Thanks
Dude you are doing great, 10 years doing something will give you a lot of valuable information to give people and you admit that you are still learning. I'm 12 years into my trade and I still learn things to its the best way to be.
@@flyryde Do you have any products that could do something similar for interior lighting? I'm dreaming of doing light strips along door lines, dashboard lines, roof lines, etc. These lights seem designed to go behind stock plastic turn signal covers.
Man! I really like that you take the time to shows us what you have learned and the right way to do custom lighting, thanks for teaching us, you are awesome!
You make a very informative high quality tutorial. I am seriously impressed how you were able to make it completely comprehensive to someone like myself with little to no knowledge about the subject. I'm able to understand every aspect of the build and it really isnt to hard to do so but you didn't overwhelm viewers. By teaching the function of each component before the application I was able to see it before it was visually applied, this is wonderfull and I wish that teachers in schools could grasp this method of teaching kids, you made a rather complicated process ( for the avarage inexperienced ) appear simple as not to intimidate the student, therefore allowing the mind to retain instead of fearing the unknown . I have to say, you tube is where I have learned alot but this video you made goes so far above and beyond that. You are a true master in your field and it shows in your work, my hat is off to you. Never stop teaching!!!
i watched to the end and learned so much. Thanks for all the time and effort you put into making these videos. i appreciate it. You are a good teacher the way you explain stuff . It helps alot
Hey man I just want to say thank you for all of your hard work and effort into sharing this knowledge stored inside your head. You are appreciated. Keep doing what you're doing.
Thxs for the time and knowledge i appreciate it. I'll say it for the people who don't like giving people props. This will help me do productive things at home since im recovering from my accident still thxs.
lolz, the individual channels reminded me of my job (Repair TV's,monitors, audio, etc) you're actually making mini LED backlight strips manufacturer's use for backlighting flat screen sets.....hey I got a room full of these Strips (hundreds of them).....this vid's giving me crazy ideas.... gonna edge light me entire house.... 3volt LED's....what a concept....
Finally! After hours of searching, I have a found a TRUE custom channel. I thought I was crazy wanting to build my own, after watching “custom” halo builds which I later found were all just install videos of over priced boards etc. thanks man, I’m subscribing
I watched the hole thing. I'm an auto sparky and slowly starting to understand how it all works, I love watching your content (although you could do with a better camera) I'm trying to take apart my rear tail lights to change something on them but can't even get the cover off hahha I don't think it was made to come off, I baked it like you do and tried to pry it apart and it just wouldn't move. It was like there wasn't any adhesive on it to peel off haha, so I got pissed off and started to use a tool and then cracked it but that's not the moral of the story. I love your content and I'm learning so much from you! Keep it up mate
I saw this for the first time and I subscribed because there wasn't all these crappy music and stupid acting you just presented information and I appreciated that if I could suggest something I would suggest that you just get one tail light from a certain car and show how you would create the changes that would be good
I’ve dreamt of doing this for ages but had no idea where to start. Seriously thanks so much for taking the time to share knowledge like this. It’s few and far between to find technical lessons like this for free or at all
I love electronics and love working with leds, so I am super excited I came across this videos and definitely going to try some of these on my car, thank you so much for the tutorial and for being a teacher, I love the way you try to keep it simple, fantastic, all the way from South Africa..cheers
just wanted to thank you for your time and energy in every video born of your manifested intent to share knowledge to enhance life and improve the design of crapnology wherever applied functionally is over everybody's heads..
Chris, I totally love your channel, talent, enthusiasm and entrepreneurial spirit. Your knowledge and teaching ability is what sold me on purchasing product from you for my next custom ride. Thanks for great videos.
Dude, thank you. What you said at the end, You are so right. This is a video for the actual technical guys. I enjoyed watching the entire video. Thank you
Hey. Thankyou for putting this video together. The information is fantastic. I have just subscribed. At 48 yrs ... umm lvl 48. Looking to add to my jack of all trades knowledge about car mods.
This is a great video!!! I've always been interested in automotive lighting. I want to build a set of taillights for my car and you have given me a.metric crap ton of info to absorb in a half an hour. Keep up the good work!!!!
I really appreciate your work and talent. I've started watching your videos to the last second. Really learning alot about automotive lighting. Big fan from South Africa 🇿🇦
So I've been walking around with an idea of mine for my Tail Lights. They have individual led's and look awesome but got the idea to make them custom. Sequential turn signal, animation on startup etc. With this video you showed me EXACTLY what I need to know and how to do it. Awesome work man! You earned yourself a new subscriber :) I'm going to take a look at the programming video, because now I want to know it all haha
I think you should go ahead and do exactly what your thinking. My buddy and I started a small business with 50.00 and a handshake. Concert security for Rock bands! Back stage management was our speciality .well we were in business for 32 YRS. SO GO FOR IT!!! KEEP ALL YOUR OVERHEAD LOW!!
You are the best teacher. Full vedio was very interesting. I'm a lighting engineer and I am so happy for your content and on your channel. I am still learning from you some interesting things. God bless you abundantly.
I am very interesting about led light i want to custom lights on my. BMW so please let me know how to take course with you. This my email rioswilson_83@hotmail.com
Man kudoes to you and your patience with these! I’ve got an old vintage bus that I want to do something like this to. Looks like I’ll be catching up on your videos 😄
I think you have a ton of information to share. Thank you for taking the time to do this video. You've got my attention and I'm curious about your academy. Looking forward to seeing more of your content.
wow, I made it through the whole video and found it super interesting. maybe its because it relates to the car scene. maybe it's because of theirs a natural curiosity who knows but definitely interested in this!! keep up the good work!!!
Chris. I love your Videos I have a Great tip for You. I work on a lot of German cars BMW Mercedes. I use a Black Fabric Tape as used on German car wire Harnessing, You can buy it on EBay Cheap! It sticks better than black plastic electrical tape. Don’t have to buy the Expensive German tape the cheap stuff works just as well. I Promise You will love it! Makes your harness flex easier and looks Professional. I appreciate your Videos! Have an Awesome Day. Marty
Great info I was a mechanic 60s, 70s, the first sequential taillights came on the 64-65 Ford Thunderbird, 3 lights each side, ran from a geared motor with a round contact plate, You can really do a lot with what you know, Entertaining, thanks William
I watched your how to build custom sequential LED strips and made it all the way thru. Great information and what I was looking for. I have a 240sx S13 hatch and was looking for some led tail lights but can not find anything that I want. After watching this, I now want to do my own.
497 ain’t cheap. For those looking to just goof around on the side I wouldn’t recommend it. If you’re down for some long videos and my best effort to train you, I’d dive in knowing you’ll be making money with this stuff.
Wow sooo good. I was scared to do anything with led lights I was buying ready made leds but now I will try myself. Awesome awesome job. Well done and most important thank you💪👍👍
Great video man! I’m not sure how I came across your video but this is what I’m all into..tinkering and creating things, by profession I build smart homes but my hobby is cars, definitely will be making a set for my qx70. Thank you for the knowledge. 📚📚🔥🔥
I love what you're doing, man. If I didn't work nights I would be interested in the course. I'm one of the guys that dreads any wiring woe, so this was fking awesome in my opinion.
I love this video I watch all the way through it and I am so happy you made this video I was really stuck on making a sequential car light and start my own business, I found this video very interesting btw all the way through 🙌🏽
Your video takes all the fear you talked about out of my imagination. The way you went through step by step and going over the pitfalls of each step really made me think I could even do this. Where do i sign up? Thank you!
Wow I wish I could come work for you! These builds are so similar to running lights for concerts/productions. The logic is the same and the programming/creativity/problem solving/etc comes so easily to me :) Love your videos too! I just wish you kept the music playing throughout it was soothing and nice for note taking 😇 Thanks for taking the time to teach us and I’m definitely interested in the online course
Found the video enjoyable, and the 30 minutes went by very quickly. I wasn't able to sleep, and wanted a short video, and next thing you know, I'm up and very awake because the subject was presented in a great way. We don't need music and it often gets in the way. However, can you make enough to make your pro series of videos from the RU-vid royalty payments that youtube sends out?
Reason why people shouldn't complain about price, that was a lot of work put in to a single turn signal. Thanks I learned a lot just on this video alone.
I just found this, that was a great video! Would love to do that to my car as i've factory led stop and tail and God knows it needs a bit of street cred 😁😂 will def be watching this a few times
Awesome dude, very inspiring. Also you are a pretty good instructor, no added video bling ( music and lighting tricks etc. ) just right to the point . That's how you do it. I'm definitely going to do this. I bought some custom Euro spec Angel eye headlights, from Romaina for my 96 MKIII Cabrio and some really ugly dot style LED tail lights. And I got no problem cutting those ugly rows of dots out, so I can design something with a custom shape. And have them look as Awesome as the ones you have created. So I'm either going to have some awesome one off headlights and some matching Fly LED performing taillights. Or some Awesome one off headlights, and stock tail lights because I really screwed them up. 😱😱. But I am definitely going to try and do this. And by the way, I watched all the way to the end, and clicked on your links. I have checked out your 20 LED kit, watched the videos there, checked out the LED's on the other link, and have considered how much it's going to cost. And I'm doing this, thanks man I also subscribed and gave 👍👍. I'm thinking of maybe, two circular rings that rotate in oposite directions for the brakes after the three flashes. With running sequential turn signals, flowing along both the top and bottom . Starting at the inside edges center, and flowing down then turning to flow out to the outside edge to flow back up to the outside edges center. Then cycling back again, but flowing in the one direction. Oh yeah, I'm feeling this!!!!! 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Hi Chris , I just start to watch your videos , I'm from Canada , I'm really interested to learn about your art , if you can make more videos pls! By the way I like your natural sens of humor! I wish you all success in your life , you deserve all the best because of your nice heart 😊, your friend from Canada
Bro i have watched alot of your video's and man thankyou so much. You really know your stuff you have teached me a tonne of stuff keep it up bro. Killin it G
i randomly came across your video, youtube was just running. I loved it, i have no intention to do any of the stuff that you do, but big shout out to you for taking the time to put the video out on your craft. truly amazing. Please let me know how i can get in touch with you i have a few ideas after watching the video.
Something to consider would a hot air solder station or a better yet a small re-flow oven. You can bake a whole set of surface mount (SMD) at once or with the hot air, get focused air with more control and less movement for a small number of parts or replacing individual surface mount components that fail. Plenty of DIY ovens out there, but would not recommend the heat gun as DIY, too much air and not enough focused heat or heat control.
I suggest using solder and solder paste with lead in it. It's easier to work with, flows better, and can take vibrations better as it's slightly softer and more flexible than lead free solder.
