Awesome video! I am currently installing a very similar staircase with skirts and stringers. The miter method for the risers is amazing and this video helped solidify the idea in my brain! Should be off to the races! Thank you kind sir!!!
Thanks so much for this. Just curious however, wouldn't it make more sense to tack the skirt board to the carriage and then scribe the rise and run? I just don't want to be short on any of them. Thanks
Is this some kind of time warp? Who cuts miters with a junk handsaw. Cut with a table saw??? Are you serious? I could see radial arm saw maybe 35 yrs ago. Compound miter saw any time since to present. Where did this come from?
Lol you wish you could do what that guy could do he does a better job than you with Hand saw They did everything with handsaw because they didn't get temp power they also used to hand nail drywall.
I’ve got a stair book with this carpenter, he knows what he’s doing, when this was made there wasn’t sliding mitre saws, just mitre saw but not the sliding ones, the tools that are available today track saws sliding mitre saws, weren’t available, so he probably finds he can get a good controlled cut with a hand saw.
