The simplicity of the videos. Still phots and narration is far superior than other videos. And it helps people build models better than long winded videos that are all talk and no build.
Yes, All the parts come out of the box when I opened it. No kidding. Locate the parts you will need then cut them off. Do you have to talk like everybody is 10 years old. Your dialog is annoying.
I like 2n1's cuz the extra parts go into my ever growing STASH. Saw this kit at my local Michaels and with a 50% off coupon I'm going to snag it. Excellent review as usual!!!
As soon as I am done with the 69 Baldwin Motion Camaro i am building this one, already washed, got it as soon as it came out but probably built 30 other cars since. Nice job my man! 👍🏁
I wish I had this great tutorial back last year when I built my Dart model! Your method of using still pictures and narrating is way better than the way other guys do it, hem-hawing with shaky video.. Thanks
Thanks David! We developed our methods of reviews to permit a builder to stop the action on each frame to examine it close up and step-by-step without losing any detail. Doug
Good review! I was working on my own 68 dart before I went away to college in the fall last year. Mine was going to be plum crazy purple with the hemi. Instead of using the slicks in the kit I used slicks from the 68 charger kit.
Man you did a really great job on this one!!! At the end id of shown the engine off some more finnished in the car.....espeacially as buck wild as you went on it. Keep em coming!!!
Michael, that was done years ago but I think it took about 14 hours over a two week span! Thanks for watching and please subscribe if you haven't already to help us reach more modelers! -Doug
Great build. I like how you always detail the tires with sandpaper. If you heat the slicks a bit on one side and roll them on a hard surface you can also get an authentic drag slick wrinkle. It doesn't roll any more, but who cares in a display model?
*Very Nice Doug~Once again I watched this video thinking it was new and here it is 5 years old~I built 2 of these about a year ago~The first one I went into it knowing I didn't have the orange paint so I shot red through my wife's lace lingerie to give it lace pattern~Then I did the decals~It turned out so cool I did the next one the right way~Yours turned out very cool :))*
Nicely done Doug. Have you done a '58 Plymouth? It would be a interesting subject, as the side glass is a real pain to fit. Had to do some light sanding on the insides of the body. people bash that kit as having curved and innacurate side spear, but it builds into a very cool Christine!!!
Would been nice if you showed how to assemble the front suspension it is more difficult trying to figure out proper way to install front stabilizer bar
Thanks Tim - Those were Slixx decals but I don't think they offer them in that scale any longer. They do have M/T decals though. Try this link www.slixx.com/7037.htm?id=3575 -Doug
There was a couple that were raced in PA., (Stiles Performance) and MD., along with some Cuda's. Steve Comella still races an original Dart. Sticker price was $5500.00! LOL!!
Jeff, Factory stock color was Hemi Orange for the 426 Hemi and the Hi-Perf 440. Stock 440's were turquoise. Drag cars can be any color the racer wanted to use. -Doug
Thanks.I might have to get me a Dart. Got a can of Sublime Green that goes well on Dodges and Plymouths. Not only are your cars awesome, your videos are too.
I just discovered your videos and I love them! Thanks! One question, please. Could you put the hemi engine in the stock body, making an awesome "sleeper" (my favorite kind of muscle car)? Will the hemi fit under the stock hood?
Mark that's a great question. I'm sure one of the readers will know for sure but I suspect it would fit. Dimensionally the 440 is close to the hemi's. On the other hand, you could always cut out the hood under the scoop tp provide topside clearance. -Doug
Hello Doug. What a beautiful build. Nice, Nice, Nice. I really appreciate your reviews and build's and always look forward to everyone one. Thanks. Jeff
Love this car, but will love to see it in 4 doors with the beautiful slanted six! These companies have to understand that not all of us like the sport version. Sometimes a normal car make your collection look more interesting ! The wiring here is awesome !
True, the way I see it is that once you built a muscle car, all the rest of that type of cars are basically the same! I like to build front wheel drive layouts, six cylinders, four, rear mounted engines and different cars so that I am entertained! Even ugly duckling cars are more interesting than a Corvette ( as an example). The last kit I bought was a Citation ! Ugly, rare, and it just looks weird and interesting in my collection!
HS, Bargains can still be found. Garage sales and even heavy retail discounts often reduce the prices significantly. Watch out for special deals Hans and you might be surprised at how affordable the the hobby can be if you open your options and build what you find on sale! -Doug
