My mom bought one kislux and she loves it. It had been there for over 10 years when she went out with it.

Nobody is talking about the wyndham trifecta. But it should be mentioned. You take the Capital One Venture X and Savor then compliment that with the Wyndham Earner +. My normal spend yields me 15 free nights a year in points in their mid-tier properties. It's not as robust as Hilton but they have some amazing all inclusive resorts. The Wyndham Grand Portfolio is AMAZING.

That's incredible! You're right, I never never hear anybody focused on the Wyndham Trifecta, but thats a viable way to use Miles if you can find good redemption rates.

Great video with an excellent scaffolding approach for those getting started with travel cards . My favorite hotel cards are the IHG Premier and Wyndham Rewards Earner (business card) since they provide better status benefits than the competition and it's easy to get value beyond the ~$100 annual fees. Also, on the TSA Pre-Check/Global Entry "overlaps"...I used one of mine to cover my wife's Pre-Check fee - the credit cards don't differentiate between paying for yourself or others so it's a good way to utilize a benefit that might seem redundant.

Thanks @jefflange2340 ! That's a great tip that often doesn't get shared. I appreciate you watching.

I currently have the Amex Blue cash for gas and groceries, a Discover card for rotating 5% and don't use it when the quarterly promo doesnt interest me, a SavorOne for a catch-all to transfer the points for travel. I want to get the Venture X to pair with the Savor, but i feel like i should start with the venture and upgrade to X after 1 year. Im torn between the Venture and Venture X

Sorry to criticize (as I generally think your videos are pretty good), but this video makes it seem like a person can hold both the Sapphire Preferred AND the Sapphire Reserve at the same time --- 100% not true per the "One Sapphire" rule. Also, there's no mention of the Chase 5/24 rule which could lead people to inadvertently lock themselves out of all those cards. As this feels pretty clearly like a video for beginners, not mentioning these two massive points is really problematic and setting rookies up for potential problems.

Thanks for the comment Brandon and really appreciate you watching! You bring up really great points and it was not intended to make it appear that way. The goal was to show from a bird’s eye view how all of the different types of credit cards can play together and to provide some examples/options along the way. I’d hope and encourage viewers do more thorough research on specific cards beyond this video when they are considering applying! (p.s. constructive criticism is always welcome)

This is true for single folks regarding the one Sapphire rule. But if you have a P2, you certainly can have both. My wife has the CSP which we use primarily for online groceries and streaming spend. The CSR is the main travel card. And of course the usual CFU/CFF completes our quadfecta.

. If you want multipliers for groceries with a chase card look into the new freedom cards sign up bonus. They have a combination of offers between x5 to x10

I have an weird set up as I am just starting this year. I have the Chase Sash Perf, Amex Gold, and Delta Skymiles Gold. I plan on eventually using the Chase points for Hyatt redemptions and the ease of booking with the portal for everything else for the 1.25 CPP. I got the Amex Gold because food is everyone's #1 spend and I figured I can top off my Delta sky miles ( I also have an older JetBlue no annual fee card with points on it to top off ) and book Hilton stays although it isn't the best redemption. Am I better off changing my set up? I'd like to get TSA free and I travel solo but considered the Skymiles Plat card.

Okay, I’ve always scratched my head about the obsession around the kislux book totes and their practicality, but this one is adorable!! Congratulations

Got a question that im hoping someone can help me out with. Currently i have the sapphire preferred, venture x and freedom unlimited. I dont really use lounge benefits all that often right now because my wife and i travel with our young children. Considering product changing from the venture x to venture. Would that be a bad idea? Also going to add a united card sonce our hub is newark and world pf hyatt card for the chase redemptions. Good move or would you consider something else?

It’s not a bad idea, but I think you might actually come out ahead on the venture x. Most people get +$5 effective annual fee with just the $300 travel credit and 10,000 points each year. Even though the annual fee is less on the venture rewards, is it possible it’s easier to get positive value from the venture X for you? Also, I like adding the world of Hyatt card. That obviously has really good synergy with your Chase points if that’s where you like to redeem your Chase points.

Hello, I was wondering if I could have your thoughts on my card set up? Freedom unlimited, freedom flex, sapphire reserve, Amex plat, Amex gold. Would there be too much overlap? Would it benefit to add hotel or airline cards to this?
@miguelherrera9676

Another set up that interests me is a local credit union visa, and then go all in with Amex everyday preferred or blue business plus, gold, plat, plat delta, Hilton or Marriott luxury card

Can definitely do a video on that in the future! This one was moreso tailored to viewers who are new to the travel CC space and looking to learn more about where to start, what big picture things to look for, etc. Thanks for watching!

Hey @TheRDGuarantee Thank you so much for the video! I have been trying to find the best strategy/credit card setup because I am very interested in becoming an expat! Quick question: Is there no support credit card for the Venture? You didn't mention a card for it in the Level 2: Intermediate stage. I know Capital One has the Savor one, but I mostly see it paired with the Venture X, could the Savor One be paired with the Venture? I'm currently in college and I don't think I travel enough or can swing the annual fee for a premium card like the Venture X just yet, thanks so much!
