Where did you see it? Do you remember which video?Ive always wanted a B-17. I was able to meet some of the crew from the Memphis Belle and they even let me crawl into the plane. This was in 96 and I was a kid at the time at St Jude's hospital.

it's a big model..I'd just glue dows to the leading edge..to give it more strength and protect the wing more. paint will adhere to MASKING tape. If you know what you're doing or built balsa kits before..you can cut ribs then skin the top with Post card sheets ( you can get a dallor store) it might..or might save wiegth....WHY??? if you can knock off wieght.. Install RETRACTS...of course :-P

X2 for the Paper foldover! Reinforcing the LE with a Skewer as well.

Get the speed build kit and you will be able to build it, it's really not that hard if you follow the instructions they give you here in the video it may take you longer on the first one but you'll get it. Just remember to cut spare ones from the original or Trace them out so you have them in case you make a mistake or you want to build a second one! Good luck I hope you go for it!

Do you know how much it weighs all the gather with battery included?

Just make ribs 1/2 ribs forward of spar ( I suggests 4-ea for each side or double on the foam) Then make 2-ea for each side with 1mm plywood....you can get dallor store. Cut slots for 1/2 " sq dows ( you can get at wal mart or craft store..ect) at an angle ( or not)...so the wheels will sit slighty forward of the LE. You need beefy music wires...or metal...such as from 1 gallon paint cans or 5 gallon buckets ( i personally use metal from office file divider I found in scrap...ect)...Drill holes into the sq dow for the music wire. make a rail so the music wire will RECESS..You can use the 1mm plywood over it...( the plywood cover are for the SCREWS so you can clamp the music wire in place ( or so you can remove the music wire)...but you need that clamp. something hard so the screws and screw into...... Trust me....Ive tried just using hot glue ...to glue the music wire in place.. NOpe...on a bad take off..they'll simple come loose. espcailly on bigger models. You can make clamps out of scrap metal or whatever plastic....Just use a NAIL to punch holes in the scrap metal if you dont have a metal drill bit... It dosnt have to be perfect...the music wire WILL BEND.... it's suppose to....to absorb some of the energy. You can cover up.. you're not so perfect work...with tape and paper.ect Even on NITRO models are designed the same way... This method it proven STRONG...it wont rip the wire from the wing or fuselge....It's typical Balsa style landing gear mounting.... it's dosnt matter if its foam or balsa...balsa isnt that strong....hence the 1mm plywood re inforcement.....You can use wide pop sticks..if you want ... I do it to all my FT models. my 44" x 35 Cub with 3.5" wheels ( $4) on my 36" FT3D, and 30" simple scout... Works like a champ..it's dosnt crease the foam from hard landing either.. Ive done hard landings, cartwheels N broken props...or landed so hard...the model will pop back up in the air...and i'll have to go around again...lmao That's what the extra foam doublers are for... it's field tested....it's easy to bend the wire back into place by hand... at the field too.....so you can fly again. i do it all the time... simple, easy and effective.... If apply ALOT of force by hand to bend the music wire back in place... it dosnt rip the sq dow out....... That's what the plywood ribs are for.....it'll lock the sq dow in place... You cant just hot glue music wires to foam or balsa..they're get rip out by a breeZe.lol

you could use brass tubing or nylon tubing instead of the coffee sturrers

Its not " Rocket Science " . In a pinch you can even roll paper into a tube for the control housing . Maybe another former with holes ? There is bunches of ways to make due with what you got there in Europe .

Where did you get the plans? I looked on their website but couldn't find them for the p-47.

I think theyre doing a P-38 soon! as well as a P51 mustang, thats all ive heard, i have no idea when theyll come out.

Depends on what battery you’re using

Use name brand glue sticks, like Gorilla Glue etc, the cheap stuff from Hobby Lobby or the dollar store are crap.....usually used for crafting type stuff.

Should be 3/32 thickness aircraft plywood - aircraft grade is higher quality ply but probably not necessary

@@piratenobody7659 PDF is just a file with dimensions... May or may not help you scratch build... If you have a printer, it would be much nice to use a pdf as a template... It would require probably several sheets of the print offs to vover the wings and other areas.... When you look at some of the build kits, they have pdf's below aomewhere.... I had to download a pdf reader to use in my phone to see them... I never actually used one to build a plane... Almost better to find something to bind and fly with a transmitter maybe from Flysky.... I am a newb but I would recommend if you can afford something like a trainer plane... You are gonna have to spend probably 130 or so to find anything.... That is what I eventually did after no luck with scratch building....

No, the laminated foam resists bending because of the paper. It's very soft without it.you can take the paper off some scrap foam and see how floppy it becomes first hand if you want.

For the sake of the aircraft the paper is critical to the strength of the whole model. If you removed that paper it would be best to replace it with another, or use the craft white dollar tree foam board

Allever McDonald with my experience the mini series is a bit harder to fly. However Ive had some of the most success with the mini scout but with an F power pack

Allever McDonald only one thing to note. The F pack makes it pretty nose heavy. I put 7g at the tail to level it out on my first one but you can also leave it and it flies a lot faster
