Note: In the video I forgot to mention that stack mount does not require you to fasten the plate onto the top case via screws as shown in my tutorial here, only isolated-top and regular top mount need to do this. HOWEVER, I've also discovered that stack mount without screwing the plate into the top case (the way it's supposed to be), you can hear and feel a bit of rattling even though it has the gaskets, screwing the plate into top case in stack mount quickly fixes this. So... basically, always screw the plate into the top case for better experience is what I'm saying.

I’ve done probably 9 builds at this point ranging from gasket to top and on but I always appreciate a good build video. The one thing I might suggest adding is testing your stabilizers with switches and caps installed to make sure everything sounds good. Yes you can fix a lot of things without having to remove them but it really sucks when you find out the thing you need to fix requires you to remove everything

@@haurjie I want to go with the red top but not sure it’s the best match with the copper in the configurator. Considering sending the copper plates to kneedeep for a unique patina job as well. Which colors do you think go best with copper, both plain & with a patina if it was your board?

@@FitLabb Personally, copper goes well with all the colors except for the maroon and lilac options.

this board is so good. I've tried stack mount and i'm blown away. Can't wait for iso top and top mount - there's so many possibilities. Great informative build guide btw.

@@haurjie Curious to hear how you feel about mount style with half plate? Would you still prefer stack mount? Also, wanting to get your feedback on Mode 80. I really like the 65 and consider pulling trigger on gray/green mode eighty. Thanks!

I'm a stack mount guy normally because I do prefer more muted sound (not always true on every keyboard), but stack mount also provides stiffer typing experience. I'll talk more about what my preference is on this board in a layer video, I need to explore more.

Yeah idk if you will see this but i fully built it and when i click the spacebar on the very left side or right the switch doesn’t go down how can i fix this? Like the switch only works when spacebar is pressed in the middle

Make sure the stabilizer inserts are properly screwed on both sides into the PCB. Make sure plate/foam aren't getting in the way, they might be offset a little?

I just recently swapped my Linear switches to the Tactile switches that Mode offers on their website, however with the new switches I have to press the key REALLY hard to actuate the switches and I am unsure how to fix this issue. Any suggestions or tips to fix this? Thank you in advance

@@haurjie this exact set up. I just wanted to try out the tactile switches that mode offers but can only get the right side of the keyboard to work properly, the left side I have to press/hold for it to actuate.

I literally ordered 2 upper body colors lilac and blue, mirror bottom, copper plate with hotswap pcb, ansi halfplate with solderable pcb, ti back piece and every mounting item, couldn't be happier, and it just shipped! ::::explodes::::

It works with the solder PCB. If you got a hotswap, then you need to import a JSON file provided in the Mode Discord server, or if you join my discord server, I can provide it to you. Can't transfer via youtube comments lol

Oh yes you're actually right! My brain was operating between iso top and stack mount when I was editing and it seems like I may have got that little part mixed up! 😬

The multi color titanium is matte finish, not gloss. I can confirm.

I think screwing the plate onto the top piece when doing a stack mount defeats its purpose. Since the screws are the ones compressing the plate onto the case through the mounting points instead of being compressed by the silicone base which makes it a stack mount. Regardless, I still love the lighting & such a great informative guide!
